whole, 2%, 1%, skim, soy...??
I drink a cup of soy vanilla everyday.
BTW, is silk vanilla healthy..?
chocolate soymilk is my fav, but i dont get it often (kinda expensive)
usually i get skim. YUM
silk vanilla is DEF healthy =) &tasty!
good question for me... i've always gotten skim or 1% from our local dairy farm, but my mom got me the "blood type diet" book and some other related book, and both say that as a type O with my kind of genetic history, etc., I should be drinking very small amounts of whole milk - and otherwise avoiding milk. I need to check with a living, breathing dietician about that...
should anyone over the age of 5 drink whole milk? : )
8th continent light original. i am lactose intolerant, and its delicious.
silk is healthy, yeah...its got alot of sugar though. and imo its chalky...ick.
bluemag1 -- anyone can drink whole milk but its obviously got alot of fat. it doesnt matter as long as you fit it into your diet, but i personally dont like to drink my fat/calories.
I drink unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze.
One cup ... 40 calories... and 1 net carb.
=^..^= MOLLY
My dad won't let us get soymilk, but my neighbor, who is vegan, keeps telling me how good the vanilla stuff is. I don't know if I'D like it, but I'm really hoping to try it sometime...but not to go vegan or anything.
I drink 2%, too. I'm at an age where I need to make sure I keep up with my calcium intake, and so generally I drink 2 cups of it a day. Besides, since I started drinking this my joints have stopped aching, so I don't want to mess with this habit!
Why 2% instead of 1% or skim? I also drink 2 cups of coffee every morning, and I usually add some of my milk to the coffee. I don't like how the lower fat milks taste with coffee, so 2% ends up being my compromise between taste and calories.
I used to drink 2% milk, but I went down another grade for my diet and I have to say I haven't noticed the difference - full-cream milk tastes icky to me now! I buy lactaid 1% milk, preferably the kind with extra calcium added. I hate skim milk though - DH accidentally bought me a bottle and I had to force myself to drink it. Ick.
I don't do well with soy products - they give me hideous heartburn - so soymilk is OUT too... fortunately lactose-free milk works fine for me.
yum, nice big cold glass of it!
organic skim or 1%
I jusr switched to skim/fat free, but I used to drink 1/2%. Other than for cereal, no one drinks the milk.
