What kind of music do you like to exercise to?

Quote  |  Reply
My wife laughs because I like heavy metal like Disturbed when I lift weights, but have a totally different set of music for cardio. I listen to everything from eminen&50 cent to 80's stuff like Oingo Boingo. What gets you guys going?

I like listening to stuff that has a fast tempo (excluding techno.. I hate it). I like to listen to The Blood Brothers (fast, hardcore-ish band... they're strange not sure how to describe them)... umm what else... Meneguar, Thunderbirds Are Now!, stuff like that. *shrug*
I listen to a wide variety of stuff.
Right now, my MIX has got a lot of Tenacious D, Barenaked Ladies, Bloodhound Gang and The Killers in it :)
trance. dj tiesto. party music it gives me these sick highes i sware.
I don't have a specific genre for exercise.. I just like a few songs in particular for when I'm on the treadmill. ^___^

When I Am Queen - Jack Off Jill
Die Another Day - Madonna
Midnight Show - The Killers
Closer - Lacuna Coil
End of Heartache - Killswitch Engage
One Armed Scissor - At The Drive In
Southside - Moby, Gwen Stefani
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmerelda

yep yep. That's what's on the playlist now. ..Just don't tell some of my strictly metalhead friends. :X
how about aha take on me,pat benatar love is a battlefield,i dont know i kind of like it,80's 90s' maybe some 70s' 60s' and some of todays music ,

  • Limp Bizkit
Techno/dance/hip-hop when I run...

  • Daft Punk
  • Outkast
  • Crystal Method
  • Chemical Brothers (Block Rockin Beats is a killer running song!)
Chill/pop/mellow when I do mat work (stretching, calist.)...

  • Outkast
  • Snow Patrol
  • Daft Punk
For ab work it's...

  • No Doubt
  • Daft Punk
  • Kelly Clarkson (hehehe)
  • some Pussycat Dolls
...that's for now. I have to mix it up often, but some are just staples.

Edited for poor spelling. Eek!
I match the beat with my exercise, so it will range from Sarah Brightman to Frank Sinatra, Kanye West to Hotel Costes, slow C-Pop or funky J-Pop. Anything as long as I like the music. I can even run sprint with Harem-Sarah Brightman! :)
You guys are too much fun. i am going on Itunes and listening to your tunes and see if they will(in an Arnold voice he thinks) "pump me up" have agreat weekend
I love "Top of the World" by The-All-American Rejects, "California Dreaming" of DJ Sammy & "It's My Life" of Bon Jovi: they give me so much energy & motivation!!
Paul Stanly - Live to win

maynard ferguson - Rocky theme remix

Put it on repeat and you have more motivation than you'll know what to do with imo.
trance , dance, hard house, anything that makes me stay on beat and focused when the tread mill gets hard to continue on-
music with lots of energy =]

i listen to like nothing but rock, usually

killers
mcs
+44
blood brothers

and during moments of extreme self-confidence, stuff like fergie or sean paul or somethin' like that.

noo depressing music. it'll slow you down.
The ESPN megamix is the best song EVER to listen to when working out. I listen to a lot of Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, OK Go... lots of club-type songs like Christina and Shakira... and sometimes if I'm really bored and don't feel like being there at all, I'll listen to RENT or something so I can forget about the fact that I'm working out and just replay the movie in my head :)
bumblebee-- i'm glad someone else here likes The Blood Brothers. I felt alone...

The soundtrack to the Ministry of Sound Pump It Up: Ultimate Beach Body Workout DVD is AMAZING for running on the treadmill.

I also really like Collision Course remix with Jay-Z and Linkin Park for any cardio. If you prefer heavier stuff for weights, then this will do the trick too probably.

As much as I hate to admit this, Paris Hilton's CD and the Pussycat Dolls also do it for me for cardio, but I would never listen to that crap otherwise. haha

Daft punk is pretty good, but can get a little repetitive.

The new Maroon 5 is pretty good too, but only the fast songs. I can run at 7.5 forever on the treadmill listening to "Little of Your Time" by Maroon 5 on repeat.  haha

Oh yeah, and the latest Jamiroquai -- High Times (The Singles) is great for running too. Especially if you watch the dance scenes from the movie Center Stage before you go to the gym...
