What kind of music do you listen to when you're exercising

Quote  |  Reply

This whole exercising thing is new to me,but I'm finding that listening to music is making it easier for me to do so. Some bands I listen to when I exercise are All Time Low,Mayday Parade,We The Kings,Metro Station.....etc.On my lazy days when I really don't feel like exercising I put Move Along (by the All-American Rejects) on repeat,it helps me keep motivated and stay on track.

What are some of your favorite artists/bands you like to listen to when you are exercising?

Yep music always makes exercising so much easier.  I listen to pretty much the same kinds of bands as you, but anything up beat is great.  Right now I'm jogging along to Anberlin and Relient K.  =)

I usually listen to EMB and industrial - sometimes trance :) (Elucidate, Combichrist, Hocico, Amduscia, etc.)

But if I'm just doing light exercises (with my exercise ball or something like that) - then I love listening to Queen

Well, I actually do a workout now that has it's own (kickass) music included. Yay workout videos! Buut, if I was still just walking around the neighborhood or riding my bike for exercise I'd be listening to:

Trivium
HIM
Drowning Pool
Breaking Benjamin
Rammstein
Sick Puppies
Strung Out
Death Cab For Cutie - I will possess your heart (Only song I like by them)
Lamb of God - Redneck (Again, only song I like by 'em.)

Or if I'm feeling more dancey:
Hello! Project
Lil Wayne (I have no idea why I like his music.. it must be the beat..)
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
"It's raining men".. I forgot who it's by...
Koda Kumi
Celldweller
Razed in Black

The only thing I really don't like listening to while working out is super sad songs and super happy songs. (Exception for Hello! Project because I just love them that much) I usually get really irritated/bored with that type of music if I'm working out.

90's Pop Music it is so upbeat and makes you wanna move...

Man, practically any music from the 90's is the bomb. <3

I should go download some..

Bands such as Tokio Hotel, The Birthday Massacre, Korn, Lolita23Q...really my music is split between German and Japanese with a little bit of English. In other words I find I exercise best when I'm listning to music I feel like hearing. It's no good for me to listen to fast paced music if I'm in the mood for something slower or heavier.

My dad swears by dance music (even though he hates it) because he automatically has to keep in time but personally I'd rather die then listen to Cascada so I suppose it depends on what you feel like. If your music is making you feel good then you'll automatically be happier in exercising.

Omg, I ADORE Mayday Parade <33333 Favorite band =D

I also like All Time Low, Avenged Sevenfold, Blue October, Breaking Benjamin, Cartel, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Paramore, etc. Just a lot of alternative stuff =]

Same here! (: I listen to Revolverheld and Tokio Hotel (not their English stuff, but their original songs in German), with English alternative/dance. My playlist goes like this (for now!):

Nothing At All - Wired All Wrong
Curiosity Kills - Trapt
Helden 2008 - Revolverheld
Burnin' Up - Jonas Brothers (I'm ashamed, but its perfect to workout to, haha.)
02.20 Boy - Suicide Sports Club
Hallo Welt - Revolverheld
Übers Ende der Welt - Tokio Hotel
The Workout - Utada
Verschwende Deine Zeit - Silbermond
Closure - Chevelle
Natural Disaster - Plain White T's
Control - Metro Station

you should listen to stuff that just makes ya wanna dance that always helps =]

I just got All Time Low, We The Kings, and Metro Station on my iTunes, so its not on my iPod yet, but when it is I will SO work out to Shake It and Skyway Avenue.

Right now, I love to exercise to Lil Jon- Snap Yo Fingers & Get Low, pretty much any Eminem except the depressing kind, Led Zeppelin, Tupac, some Cobra Starship, Fergie, & pretty much anything with a good beat.

haha i usually listen to rap when i workout... anybody have a new songs for me to listen to!?

I guess music preference is important, but ive found that hip-hop or club/dance music is the most motivating for me by a long shot. i love dancing so it makes me want to move like none other.... especially when im running =) i love listening to party starter by will smith, shawty get lose by lil mama and stuff like that, its very motivating!

Haha, I'm not great at my music genres, but Junior Senior is kind of a rap I think and they're so fun to listen to. Kinda explicit sometimes if you don't mind.

Listen to D12

When I exercise I listen to their album Devil's Night, all the songs are awesome.

"I don't give a **** if we beefin or not, I'll squeeze first
I'ma heat up yo' spot, I'm a nigga that breathe dirt
On these streets every day, snatchin niggaz yea
How you bitches needin work, you can get it from McVay
I'm dispiteful, I tie a hoe a maniacal foul animal
liable to leave you strapped with yo' bible (fo' real)
I'm psycho, my bullets won't fly by you
You wanna kill me? {*explosion*} You got the right to
Ain't gotta wait 'til night to snipe if I don't like you
You gettin hit in broad daylight with a white rifle
In front of yo' window I'm lookin right through
I love when I see a nigga get stuck.."

The more intense and angrier the beat and lyrics are, the easier it is for me to exercise. I don't even really like half of what I'm listening to, but I find that those intense beats help me keep going. Eminem is always very angry. And my teammate introduced me to the anger of Marilyn Manson too, just don't listen to closely to the lyrics :)

But other songs I like to listen to and work out to are these:

- Stronger by Kanye West

- Secret Crowds by Angels & Airwaves

- Almost anything by M.I.A.

- Hallelujah by Vitamin String Quartet

- Ramalama (Bang Bang) by Roisin Murphy

- Creator by Santogold

- So What by P!nk

-Because We Can by Moulin Rouge Soundtrack

- To Victory by 300 Soundtrack

Same as a lot of you guys - All Time Low, Metro Station, Boys Like Girls, Paramore, & We The Kings. I also love classic rock as my driving music, so every now and then I'll throw some AC/DC or Bad Company in too. :)

these are some of my favorites when i go running:

Le Disko - Shiny Toy Guns

Pick Me Up - Pop Levi

Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n Roses

Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand

The City Is At War - Cobra Starship

I Just Wanna Live - Good Charlotte

Alright - Supergrass

Seven Nation Army - White Stripes

Cars - Gary Newman

Ironman - Black Sabbath

Acceptable In the 80's - Calvin Harris

Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis

Hot Topic - Le Tigre

Keep On Livin' - Le Tigre

Africa - Toto

Walking With A Ghost - Tegan and Sara

Push It - Salt n Pepa

I'm usually major into Classic Rock .. Aerosmith, ACDC, Led Zepplin, etc, but I have to admit, for the purpose of exercising I listen to that pop stuff .. Lady Gaga, Chris Brown, Rihanna ... all of the newer dance-club type music has amazing fast tempos that are great for exercising!!  Also, good-ole 80's music (Devo, Salt-n-Pepa, etc) ... anything with a good strong beat!

I find dance, hip-hop, or anything with a stong beat really pumps me up while i'm jogging. I usually just repeat the same song for a run cuz i'm too busy concentrating on my running. Right now my favs are:

Gonna be mine- T2 ft addictiv

American boy- Estelle

Tonight- Addictiv

Now you're gone- Basshunter

Rhythm is a dancer- Snap

..and any songs by cascada!

i love listening to things that make me wanna dance. lots of club stuff or the pussycatdolls. unless im mad then i listen things that make me want to punch things like minor threat.
