What kind of music do you listen to when you're exercising
This whole exercising thing is new to me,but I'm finding that listening to music is making it easier for me to do so. Some bands I listen to when I exercise are All Time Low,Mayday Parade,We The Kings,Metro Station.....etc.On my lazy days when I really don't feel like exercising I put Move Along (by the All-American Rejects) on repeat,it helps me keep motivated and stay on track.
What are some of your favorite artists/bands you like to listen to when you are exercising?
Depending on what I'm about to do/doing, it varies. Either rock/metal that makes you want to move, or trancy stuff that makes you feel cooooool... Something to send your brain to; It's makes the whole lactic acid thing a little less bothersome.
My favorite artists to work out to are: 3OH!3, Katy Perry, Balance Problems (mostly for cool-down or when I'm not doing anything too vigorous), The Ting Tings, the Juno soundtrack, All Time Low, Britney Spears, Eisley, Forever The Sickest Kids, Gwen Stefani, Jack Johnson (again, cooling down), Ingrid Michaelson, Jason Mraz, Lady GaGa, Never Shout Never, The Pipettes, Rihanna, The Secret Handshake, The Spice Girls, and The Submarines.
Music is very, very motivational for me... I don't think I could work out if I didn't have my headphones in, lol.

... I find I exercise best when I'm listning to music I feel like hearing. It's no good for me to listen to fast paced music if I'm in the mood for something slower or heavier....
...it depends on what you feel like. If your music is making you feel good then you'll automatically be happier in exercising.
So true.
BUT IM ALWAYS IN THE MOOD FOR PLACEBO. =D Never get sick of that band. I guess on occasion you find a band that you just totally and completely fall in love with, right? It's like meeting your soul mate. In musician form. Me and my valuable friend, we've been going steady for... almost a decade. Since I discovered 'em. O my gosh. Now that's love.
My playlist has a bit of Radiohead, L'arc~en~Ciel [雪の足跡 is a great song], R.E.M., Soul Asylum, Tokio Hotel, Placebo [obviously], Quietdrive, Marilyn Manson, The Pillows, blink-182 [Feeling This goes on repeat often], Dispatch [The General and Headlights are both good], Orange Range [以心電信], Sum 41, The English Beat, The Pixies [WHERE IS MY MIND?], Lady Gaga, HIM, Denki Groove and Korn. And then some. I suppose a slightly eclectic mixture.
Anything with an electro feel, really.
I find exercising to slow songs not to help me at all. Sure, I can like the song, but it probably won't give me any kind of pseudo-boost... or something like that.
As for some rather well known (I think) electro artists: Daft Punk is amazing, Chromeo rocks the talk box, and Calvin Harris is a charming fellow too.
I'm really into French House and French Electro.
But, I must admit, the occasional Justin Timberlake is always good. Oh, and Michael Jackson is just classic, regardless of his abnormal tendencies.
i find listening to the music of people who's bodies i wouldn't having is quite useful. therefore, beyonce = a godsend. other than that, led zeppelin's rock and roll is the perfect tempo for running on the treadmill. although i do look like a bit of a loser when i start to sing along :S.
man thats quite a list of songs from people around the world!!!im mainly into medolic death metal. and anything thats from over seas. i hate some of the stuff that these american guys come out with. but i got to admit bullet for my valentine is pretty good for being american. my go list on my mp3 play is this:

Taking Back Sunday
Marilyn Manson
Static X
Malice Mizer
Mayday Parade
Glamour For Better
Moi Dix Mois
Metro Station
The Motorettes (awesome band, check them out)
Yea... I listen to a lot of odd music.
I like to listen to a lot of metal or something with a heavy beat for some reason. The Black Dahlia Murder, Soil, My Sharona by The Knack. haha. Good question
I'm a walker, sometimes a light jogger and I find that really up tempo music does the trick to keep me going
some songs on my playlist are
hollaback girl by gwn stefani, get me bodied by beyonce, and some techno like satisfaction
I like to listen to a variety of music while working out. I have a very random selection.
All Christina Aguilera songs. They are so inspirational. I am beautiful no matter what they say haha
um Justin Timberlake, The Maine, The Pussycat dolls, Led Zep., Colbie Caillat, Paramore, and many others.
I think what's funny about my exercising music tastes is that I prefer to listen to music that I would otherwise find "untalented" or just plain "stupid"
For instance, I listen to a lot of repetitive techno. And my brother's music, which consists mostly of really bad rap. I think what I like is anything with a beat I can walk/jog to.
Anything really. Stuff that gets me moving. I like to listen to like All American Rejects, Fall outboy and stuff like that :D
Metallica's ...And Justice for All on repeat does the trick.
Also, I'm sure some you guys have heard of Girl Talk. His stuff is only good if you're going to be excercising HARDCORE though.
I'm not usually a metal guy, but Motorhead and that stuff in general is pretty good to run/lift to.
The Avett Brothers, sometimes The Mars Volta. Neutral Milk Hotel.
Music that either 1) has a suitable beat or 2) makes me concentrate on it rather than how many minutes I have left to jog. [smile]
I listen to mostly rap/hip-hop when I work out and occasional heavy metal. I usually prefer rap for cardio and metal for weights, for some reason.
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
