So I took my daughter to the movies, right?

Well... before we left the house we shoved two cold sodas and a baggie of popcorn in my trusty purse.  We were running a few minutes late so I clutched my purse and we sprinted for the door, found our seats, (previews were just finishing up) and we grabbed our sodas.

I opened mine and and it sprayed the lady sitting right in front of me.. OMG, I wanted to just die!!  Poor lady, I felt so bad... I was SO embarrassed too, because people were laughing at us!  HA!

That'll teach me to clutch my purse and RUN when I have sodas in it :/

What kind of things do YOU sneak into the movies??

We just sneak in sodas. I am NOT paying 6$ for a 64 oz of diet coke when they charge so much for popcorn too.

Whoa. Holy ****. Since when can you get 64oz of soda in one cup? O_O
Oh... I totally agree!!  The price of sodas are the same price as the darn ticket (matinee)!!

We sneak in candy too though.  I remember buying 'hot tameles' for $3.50 one time!  bah!   Now I get my hot tamels at the dollar store or somethin'

Everything except the popcorn :)

theatre popcorn always smells SOOO good

Not sure whether anyone cares or not, but the price of tickets usually only covers the reel cost for the theater, they pay their other costs (wages and rent mostly) out of concession stand revenue and what's left is profit which, judging by the rate at which theaters are closing, is not much.

Eventually they'll get the down to the right number of theaters for a given area, it just means that your nearest theater may be very far away and always full.

We go to the dollar store and get small bags of chips, chocolate bars, bottled drinks, etc. One time we even took buns and cold cuts lol.

no lie, i once brought a california roll.

OMFG! AHAHAHA just got brought back to the good ole days in this thread!

I used to get SOOOO mad at my mother because she would always bring everything from home... I wanted to die when she would bust out the bologna and cheese sandwiches and all kinds of stuff that you wouldn't imagine at the theatre! I just wanted to be what I thought was "normal" and get some Goobers, popcorn, and MOVIE THEATRE soda!

However, years have passed since then and I too am now a mother. Well, I understand now and yep I bring snacks with me too!

lol michelle!!

one time... I sh$t you NOT...  my daughter and I took in Arby Melts.  That's not the 'funny' part!!  The friends we went with, they busted out with a tupperware full of chicken wings from Hooters!!!  We were laughing SOOOOO hard, I thought the people in front of us were gonna jump us!

.... also, another time we took in squeeze-cheeze and pretzels  :D

This is just many of the things that I have apologized to my mom about... It's so funny, I always thought my parents were embarrassing and the biggest pain in a$$ for so many things and NOW that I am an adult/parent, It all became so clear.. and I have apologized several times for different things I was a punk about yet understand now! ( One example, how whenever I felt a bit chilly I would CRANK up the heat not even with a second thought of what my parents paid for oil, I didn't pay any bills, what'd I care?... my dad used to FREAK over that one and even made the rule that I was not allowed to touch thermostats in the house... I'd hate to see him if I was growing up in today's world, with THESE oil prices, he'd be put away for child abuse or something LOL!

Completely off subject of the OP, sorry.....

I dont buy sweets when i go i dont eat them anyway. but the popcorn just isnt the same if you bring your own i cant find a brand as good as the cinema, the microwave stuff just tastes like salt

If we're seeing a movie around dinner-time, my friends and I usually sneak chinese food into the movies.

the worst (or best) was i snuck in a small bottle of baileys once. but i dont go out to movies much, too expensive, especially here. much easier to just wait for the digital version, except for movies you need to see on a big screen.  oh but i also remember another time when i lived in sf, a bottle of whiskey. no i dont need aa, but there's something about bringing in alcohol to a theater that makes it so bad that you have to try it a couple of times. but its not exactly like they sell baileys or whiskey at the movie theaters (well in the states anyway).

We always brought our own sodas and sometimes snacks as well.

I always found movie theatre popcorn to be too salty.  It always leaves my lips chapped >_<.

I haven't gone to see a movie in theatres in forever though.

Once I did take in a bag of Arbys and a two litre of soda, but now when we go we rely on the concession for the very reason ignayshus pointed out.

how do you get 2 litres of drink in, its too cylindrical to pass off under shirt, too big for a bag

HA!  a two liter's EASY to sneak in....  take it from a pro! jk

actually, if you stick the two liter into a jacket sleeve, it wont fall out.  It fits perfect there.  AND if you drape your coat over your arm with the stuffed sleeve at the bottom, you can't even tell  :D

My friends and I used to sneak in little pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and plastic spoons!

Once I tried sneaking in a smoothie from Orange Julius.  Unfortunately, the lid fell off in my purse and purple sticky goo got everywhere! :)
Or if you're wearing a hoodie, lay it in the pocket.  People'll just think you're fat.

Seriously, it can be done.  And has been done.
