ok ever since I started dieting, I am having serious bathroom issues. basically I cant go. I want to but I cant. I have tried womens laxatives & correctol...still nada. Gross sorry. So I called my Doctor and he is outta town for 2 weeks. I really dont feel comfortable talking to a stranger doctor about this. I have been eating lotsa of stuff to help go but still nuttin! So I went to the drug store and found this 2 week natural laxative. It sounds like it will help me and doesnt sound harmful yet I am not sure if I should do this or not. You have to take like 12 pills a day and it supposed to have you regulated in 2 weeks. Anyone here feel my pain or what? Am i the only one here who cant go potty or what?

well I have no problem talking to my doctor (even though he is super duper hot and it makes it a little more difficult) but he is away. If I dont feel better by monday I will have to see one of the other docs. Maybe it will be easier than telling my super hot doctor I cant poop now that I think about it. Did i tell you he is HOT? DAMN!
Mineral Oil:

Lubricant laxatives lubricate intestinal mucosa and soften stool.
Administer on empty stomach at bedtime.
I really cant believe I am sitting here talking to a bunch of strangers about my bathroom issues!
we're all here to help.  everyone has butt trouble sometimes =)
well thank you!!! I feel better now!
lol, just talk to a doctor :)  I guarentee they hear things like this all the time and won't even think twice.  You might be able to call up the office and talk to someone over the phone - my doctor's office does that.  That might be less embarassing for you.

You could also try some of the other suggestions, like coffee or sugary juice.  A lot of yoga poses cause the internal organs to be "massaged," which might help things along :P
actually, sometimes just rubbing my belly will help.  i rub to the left
coffee and nicotine (if you are so inclined) might help.

yoga: downward facing dog is GREAT for the intestines.  in college we could ever figure out why we were racing each other for the potty in the dorm on the way home till the teacher explained it.  i still use it when i feel gassy or otherwise uncomfy down there.  simply put your self in like the up position of a push up (plank) and then raise your butt into the air until you are shaped like a triangle with the floor.  move your hand and feel till you feel comfortable, but it should apply pressure (even if you dont feel it) to the lower abdomen.  so i guess you end shaped like a right triangle with the feet and the floor forming the 90 degree angle.

like everyone else said, cut back on fiber EXCEPT for pectins like apples and oatmeal.  that is the sort that smoothes the way out.

a mineral oil supplement at night should help as well.  gross tho.

and call thy dr for a more medicinal assistance!  (have you tried prunes yet?  seriously they work.  that and white castle ;)  )
I had this problem after surgery. So I bought one of those over the counter ENEMAS and used it.......worked wonders. I also bought a huge bottle of mineral oil in the medicine section in the store. I took this everyday for a week or so. I had to call ask a nurse because I wasnt sure what to do and this is what she told me to do. I took everything I could and nothing worked just maybe got a lil cocopuff out of it. I would think about trying this seriously. Good Luck
Yogi tea makes an incredible tea called "Get Regular"
It can be found in a health food store or really good supermarket or drugstore that sells "natural, organic" stuff.

Anyhow, the tea is very gentle and works like a charm.

Make sure you allow the tea bag to steep at least 5 minutes so that the good herbs get released.

Good luck!
I use 500 mg of magnesium daily and about a gallon or two of water the magnesium was actually suggested by a doctor and it is inexpensive and over the counter.

hey kcnae3,
I know you are now inendated with a LOT of info but I have to add my two cents hahahaha.I previously posted this and I hope you can get some help and relief from this, excuse the pun, but hey we can be open about this right? and we need to have some humor in it. As I have stated I have severe bowel issues due to Spina Bifida and Before a surgery I usually end up taking Magnesium Citrate. It is a very strong lax. From experience if you do choose to use it drink it VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY slowly, do not gulp it. tiny sips....get the drift? hahaha and use a LOT of ice. you should be in good shape in no time. I usually only drink 1/2 botle at a time and drink it over about 30-45 min period.I actually saw it at Walgreens the other day. I am not sure where else you can get it. I hope this helps.

Fresh figs, carrots, cherry tomatoes. They make me go.

Good luck!!
This is the best post ever. I'm going to suscribe to it, so be sure to post when then shipment is delivered ;) Don't sweat it too much, in basic training almost everyone there was plugged up for about a week because of the stress. It just makes for a larger installment than you're used to, but your piping's made to handle it. If the pain gets worse, just go to the E.R., they have better methods for handling this situation than OTC meds. Good luck!

This is totally unhealthy, but having a cigarette has always helped me go (I'm trying to quit!!).

Otherwise, coffee, green tea...  The good stuff.

If you are still experiencing any sort of strange discomfort or haven't gone yet, I would risk the embarassment of telling a new doctor this.  This isn't something to be playing around with.

My friend is a doctor and I've heard some scary stories, so pls pls take good care of yourself hun!!!

Best of luck!!!
i have the same problem.. ive had problems using the bathroom for awhile now and all while ive been dieting.

sometimes i can use some suppository laxatives to ease it for a time or two but then they seem to not work either. ive tried fiber pills and chewables but nothing has made me regular.

its a constant battle with your bladder!
