Kinda New 23 yr old Bride-to-Be
I've actually been tracking my weight on CC for almost a year now, but I've just begun to take advantage of the community featuers. So yeah, I'm a recent college grad getting married next fall and have 30lbs to lose before then. I'm just looking for support and guidance as well as friendship. :)
Good luck on losing these 30lbs, but, since it is for next fall, and seeing the reason why you wish to lose this weight (congratz by the way :)), I am sure you'll reach your weight goal soon enough :D
Keep us up to date with your progress!!

Hi! I'm a 23 year old bride to be as well! The wedding is in June and I'm super excited, but my dress will be here in Mid-March to begin alterations and I have about 15 pounds to lose to be at my ideal weight. It's kind of vanity pounds, but I also wasn't living that healthily before so I don't see why I can't use my beautiful dress as a kick start to eat better and be fit. I would love to use this board to chat. I travel for work Monday through Friday so I have the extra challenges of having to eat out 3 meals a day 5 days a week and using hotel gyms which vary.
Anyone else have their dress picked out?
I have my dress picked out ... my wedding is in October and I've had it since last February ... I guess I need to start doing fittings over the summer? I'm trying to use my wedding to get in shape as well ... and to get my fiance in shape too! We struggle because my gym memebership is through my mom and we can't afford one for him right now (it's complicated) so that sucks. And we also live on very different schedules from (a) the rest of the world and (b) each other, which adds to the stress and difficulty. Anyway. I seem to have lost a couple of pounds and I'm learning portion control, and that seems to help a lot. And I'm trying to stop making excuses. I would like to share that today I bought a two-DVD workout set from Target in their dollar section for $2.50! I hope that having the DVD's around will help with our crazy timing schedules and all of that.
What else do people have accomplished (wedding or non-related)?
Annie-
Actually, it's really popular right now for bridesmaids not to wear matching styles, but be color-coordinated (same shade and fabric), which could help a lot with your maids' different body types. I've seen it done and it still looks as polished and classy as five women in the same dress (or even more so because each woman is comfortable and confident that her dress suits her). That's my five cents.
Annie,
I agree. My 4 bridesmaids could not be more different, and all of them had something completely different in mind. I would recommend Alfred Angelo. I picked out a color (Indigo) and now they are each picking their own dress. All of the bridesmaid styles they make come in every color, and there enough that everyone should be happy with at least one of the dresses. Plus I would consider them to be about as affordable as bridesmaid dresses come!
I've bought my dress already, just waiting to closer to the date to get it altered. I however, wana shine on my day and my girls are wearing the same dress. This one however DOES look good on MANY frames and is something they might be able to wear again.
Also ladies...may I introduce you to spanx. Buy them on ebay for SO much cheaper then you would in the stores and these little babies suck you in and keep you nice and smooth.

Thanks for the info on the Target DVD sale. I'm gonna swing by there after work and see if my local store has it as well.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding.
Keep us posted.
