I know this is a far-fetched question...

...in a mostly women forum (No offense meant, but most avid gamers are men :P), but is anybody attending Blizzcon this year :P?

If anybody knows anything about Blizzcon they probably know how hard tickets are to get, and what a mess the ticket sells were last year.

I got mine this year!  Woohoo!  Me and my friend were both waiting for the sales to open on the website and he literally clicked 10 seconds after me and I got mine and they were sold out when he got through the que.  o_O;;

P.S.  Wooooooo SC2!

Women can, and are, avid gamers too. :P

Not attending, but it sounds insanely hard to get into anyway.  That's awesome you got your tickets.

I commend you for getting tickets.

If I'm not mistaken, the tickets recently sold out? Not quite sure.

I'm too good for Starcraft anyway. (;

The first round of tickets is sold out yes, but there will be another batch of tickets at the end of the month.

And pfft, too good for SC, pfft.  :F

Ooh, BlizzCon! Jealous!!

Did you register for the mountain dew pet? (if you play WoW that is)

I did! :0

And blizzcon is too expensive and far away for me to go. =(

I actually haven't been on WoW for about 2 months (But I have played a lot, I got it the day it came out, account created November 23rd, 2004!).  I decided to take a break, plus I've been too busy with work.  This year at Blizzcon all attendees get a Murloc pet in marine power armor that shoots critters.  That sounds like complete jibberish to people that don't play, but those that do will find it hilarious.  XD

Too expensive!  Only 125$!  :b

I recently quit WoW right when the Ulduar patch hit. Been playing since release day, and like you, got a bit burnt out on it. :P I had just recently hit 80 with my Enhancement shaman too (My main is a Holy priest). Blizzcon would have been nice, but I decided to spend my money on the Final Fantasy "Distant Worlds" Orchestra that's coming to Seattle in July. Blizzcon is supposed to be broadcasted this year, so I'll just watch it instead of spending loads of money. Laughing

Super excited about E3 this year though!

Nice haha, cool to see another old schooler.  I know the game has improved much, and my memories of the old days are probably better than they actually were, but I swear I miss the old MC days.  People seemed so much more into the game back then, and the Alliance VS Horde rivalry was much more intense, nowadays people seem really apathetic about everything beyond getting a better piece of gear.

The Final Fantasy event sounds very cool!  I've been a fan of Blizzard since I was a child though, played WarCraft I when I was still in elementary school!  Jr. High was all about StarCraft.  :P

I've had a lot of alts, but I've been dedicated to my Warrior since day 1, tanked up until BC then went fury dps, respecced each weekend to arms for pvp.

Blizzard is working on a new MMO though, I figure I'll just have fun with SCII and Diablo 3, and go play all the games I've missed since WoW came out and just wait for their next MMO.  :b

P.S.  Their next mmo is at least 4 years out though.  T_T

Yes! I completely agree with you. I had MUCH more fun during the MC and BWL days. Maybe that's because the game was still "fresh" to me. I'm not a huge fan of this expansion for some reason.. it just didn't do much for me. Northrend isn't very exciting, and I absolutely HATE Dalaran (Mostly because of the lag) So I figured I would quit and play some of my console games that have been sitting around gathering dust until a new MMO comes out. I'm pretty psyched about their new MMO (Whatever it may be) But I'm also excited for Square-Enix's mystery MMO that is going to have new info out at this years E3.

I didn't normally PVP in WoW (before I switched servers) unless it was world pvp (Which is pretty much dead nowadays) I miss the days of raiding Tarren Mill and Mind Controling horde into lava!

Can't wait for SC2 and D3. Especially D3. Diablo 2 is such a fun game!

Yeah, being a warrior helped me fall in love with PvP.  Mortal strike spec was just so fun when you have a healbot.  I felt like a god in BG's and world pvp, my roommate plays a holy paladin and we were connected at the hip since day 1, we rarely got steamrolled by anybody.  :)

I wish I was into PvP in the early days though, I never did much because I hate PvP as prot, I managed to get to Knight-Captain just as a flag carrier in WSG during my prot days, but I really wish I had gotten Grand-Marshal.

I actually had a good time in Northrend, but I didn't like BC very much so maybe its just the comparison.  I found a lot of the quests to be fun and interesting, and I was really into the lore.

I might have to check out the new Sqaure-Enix MMO, I didn't know anything about that.  As for Blizzard's MMO, I was really hoping it was going to be StarCraft related, since that is my favorite franchise of theirs, but it won't be.  The only information they've released about their new MMO project is that its going to be a new Franchise, so not Diablo, StarCraft, or WarCraft.

And yes, Diablo 3 will be a blast.  I didn't make last years Blizzcon, so I missed the chance to test it out, but this year I'll be all over it.

I hope SE's new MMO is better than FF11. I may have had awesome times there and made alot of friends, and had fun, but that game needs ALOT of improvement, I just hope they learned from their mistakes. Mithras ftw! ;D

As for WoW, I'm one of those people that play a game til it dies, so I'm still going at it, and it's true people are more gear-hungry than they used to be. =/ I've got 4 80s and a bunch of almost-80 alts. Embarassed  Horde represent! ;D

I look forward to Diablo 3!! Oh man, so excited! Just watching gameplay movies brings back memories from D2 days. :D

I'm also going to be watching blizzcon from home. Sadly I'll miss out on the super cute murloc, but yeah.

Oh I LOVE holy paladins. Actually, Paladins in general. My fiance leveled up two Paladins, one Ret and one Prot. They are so much fun to level with Laughing

I used to do a fair amount of BG's until DK's came out... then I could barely get a heal off before they deathgripped me and two shotted me.  Knight-Captain is not bad at all though! I don't think I would ever have had the patience to get Grand-Marshal.

I didn't like BC much either, so I guess I just don't like anything post vanilla WoW. lol. In BC I got to the level cap and just quit, I didn't raid much as during that period of time, I didn't have any spare time. I did do Kara a couple of times though which was fun. Much more fun than Naxx, that's for sure.

Yeah, not much is known about SE's new mmo (Its codename is "Rapture") So hopefully we'll get more details on it. It's likely that it'll be coming out before Blizzard's new MMO. I believe that it's been in the making since 2005, so I would think that the release date would be sometime next year. We'll see though!

I wonder what Blizzard will be surprising us with at this years Blizzcon? That's super neat that you'll be there to experience that!

I blame playing WoW as one of the reasons for my weight gain. Ha ha. Probably a good thing that I quit when I did.

Speaking of FF11, I was playing it until about a couple of weeks ago when my account got hacked. I said "No more" lol. They made a bunch of changes that have made it a lot easier to level (XP rings, level-sync which is an AWESOME idea for any mmo! And they implemented something that's kind of like dailies) I love Mithra's too, even though I was playing a Hume. I originally wanted to play an Elvaan, but they look a bit funny.. Embarassed I do hope SE's new MMO improves on FF11 as well.

Wow, 4 80's! That's incredible. I get sooo bored of other classes besides my holy priest. I finally managed to find another class I loved to play (My shammy) If I ever go back to WoW, I will most likely make a horde character. I would have played them instead of alliance, but most of my RL buddies play alliance.

All this WoW talk makes me want to go back. :(

Hehe, yeah I've been Alliance since day 1.  I was a very patriotic Alliance player as well, but in my personal opinion the Horde had more hardcore players (and thus more skilled players).  I think the best of the best on both sides were about equal, but I think when it comes to the vast majority, the Alliance had a lot of bad players.

But still, didn't stop me from being patriotic.  If I was Horde I would have been an Orc for sure, Orc warriors are so rugged.

Yeah I got a Warlock, Paladin, Druid, and of course my Warrior to 60, then I took the Warrior, Warlock, and Druid to 70, and then I only got the Warrior to 80.  I didn't do much on my druid, and I only raided occasionally on my Warlock, my pally I just pvped with as Holy, but in the end I spend over 75% of my time on my Warrior.  He's seen so damn much, and I did some 10 mans in Northrend, but I haven't done any 25 mans, and probably won't since I've quit for an undetermined amount of time.  >_<

I was one of those people that had to do everything, even grind useless rep, but I could only do all that on on character.  :P

Lucky you!

To be able to go...and... To be able to get the tickets... WoW - pun intended-

I'm jealous. I have a lot of friends that would also be green with envy. XD! We stood in line for the Wrath if Lich King expansion set at midnight. We didn't hang out once getting our sets. We just ran home asap to download updates, ect! I've had several characters just for sport. :) I'm working on my  new favorite/most played now. She's a Druid Night Elf/healer. I like PVP bestest. ( btw:Nightelves are the Alliance. )

Down with the Horde!

You should watch the The Guild it's such a funny little show. It's about online gamers which totally cracks me up. It's probably not funny to people that aren't hardcore gamers, though.

Hehe, I'll have to check it out.  And yes I stood in lines at the mall for both BC and WotLK and then ran home and played it.  I'm one of those very lucky gamers who has about 6 friends that are into it just as much as me, so we all stood there together.  The mall security always has the "wtf is wrong with these people" looks on their faces.

P.S.  The Druid tree form dance cracks me up each time.  :3

Hahaa! That's fantastic.  The mall security has gotten used to us awaiting expansion packs/games. :) We always go to the same game store in the mall. That way if we have to wait in the dead of winter,ect...AT LEAST it's INDOORS!

Either way! We must attempt to be the first to get ours/download. =-P It's like when a new game console comes out. We've been known to camp out for those too!

The tree form itself even minus the dance is so weird/funny/kewl. <3
