Im totally new to this and not sure what to expect but with all fellow Christians on here I figure it should be safe.  I am a 47 year old married male living near Topeka Kansas,  I hit the scales a  few weeks ago at 200lbs and I have never been that heavy in my life and even though I jog several times a week the pounds have added up over the years and with Gods help I intend to make it down to 165.

Welcome Sumer!  I guess Ohio is still a little cool.  I forget sometimes that the rest of you aren't experiencing the same weather we have here in Florida.  I think we can officially say that summer is here!  I love the beach too but it's an 80 mile drive to the east or west for me.  My brother-in-law is coming for a visit next month from Utah and has the beach on his list - and that will be our first time in over a year! I'm looking forward to it.

I just joined CC yesterday and just joined this group today.  I hope to find like minded individuals in this group.  I perfer to be in a group where cursing and bad talking is not involved.  I have lost 73 pounds on my own since the end of 2005 by following WW's.  I have, unfortunately gained back 28 pounds in the last year.  I am trying desparately to get back on track.  I know that I am the only one that can make that happen.  I have good days, and some not so good days.  I do make a concerted effort to make good choices, although my biggest problem is my love of sweets and portions way out of control.  I pray God will help me get back to what I know works and that through all of this He will be glorified.  Thanks for having me here, I hope to meet many of you and learn more about you.

I had 2 budgies. I taught them to talk. Very cool. Had to get rid of them because they became too much work for me to clean the cages...feathers etc...We always had cats but even that is too much to clean the litter so I am petless now.

5.    What kind of music do you like listening too? Christian Music, Jazz/Dianna Krall, Tony Bennet, Micheal Buble...I was the worship leader of our church for many, many years. I love to sing and write my own songs also. I play piano, keyboard, accordion, organ and trying to learn the guitar.(it's not as easy as it looks)

Praise the Lord Everyone!!!

Well, I am not new to CC as I have joined in April and have found this to be a very encouraging site for the journey I am on.  I am still finding my way around the site and came across this site which I must say was exciting in itself. 

I will get to the questions, but how I came to change my life in the physical aspect was that just over a month ago I had a stroke at 48 and was hospitalized.  It was then that I found out I had high blood pressure my cholesterol was high and I knew I was obviously overweight.  Once I got out of the hospital, I made up my mind that I was not going to go back in and decided to get serious about my health.

And you know God and all of His infinite wisdom, grace and mercy has completely healed me of the stroke, there is nothing about me now that you could see that would even make you believe that I ever had one.  Not only that, but I went to the eye doctor shortly after I got out of the hospital who was very surprised as the last time I had an eye exam was 4 years ago and at that time I was to wear bifocals, well this time when I went, he told me whatever happened to me when I was hospitalized caused a reaction in my system that effected my sight and now my eyes are better now then 4 years ago and I don't need glasses any more, only to read.  Isn't God good. 

I was 227 lbs when I went into the hospital and now I am down to 188 lbs, and feeling great.  God has just done so many awesome things in my life and as you get to know me, you will see just how the hand of God has been in my life and the miracles He has done for me, (and I mean miracles, as He is still in that business you know) to let me know, I am a testimony.  I could go on and on, because when I think of the goodness of God and what He has done for me, my souls shouts Hallelujah and I just can't hold my peace.

3.    What is your favorite color? White-Keeps me focused on my new robe.

4.    What kind of pets do you have? Minature schnazer and cockatiel

5.    What kind of music do you like listening too? Gospel and Oldies from the 50 60 and 70's early 80's, classical, jazz, big band era and anything that makes sense.

6.    What kind of vehicle do you have or drive? Cadillac/Wife-Jeep Cherokee

7.    What is your favorite store you like to shop in? Don't have one. 

8.    Name something you are not?  I am not unforgiving.

9.    Where is your favorite place to eat?  At home

10. What favorite place would you like to be at right now? Well, this is a dilemma- I can say like Paul-to live is Christ and die is gain, but I think I am where God wants me to be right now, so I do not really have an answer.  I am pretty content wherever I am.

Don't have one-Not true since I have been serious about this change of life for a healthier life, I have become very accustomed to water again, and when I get tired of water I have grown accustomed to the Crystal Light flavor packets which are only 5 calories per packet.

12. What is one of your hobbies? I like to ride my bike again, and computers.

13. Do you have a favorite book or author? If I cannot say the Bible, then I would probably say Catch 22 or the Great Gatsby.

14. When did you accept Christ as your personal savior? I was baptized in 1968, but got serious in 1987.

What is one of your favorite Bible Stories?  When King Jehosaphat was going out to battle and went to the Lord for guidance, God told him he will not have to fight this battle, but to go out to face his problem and when he faces his battle he will see the salvation of God.  Just as we cannot back down from our battles of life, but if we go out to confront them, that is when we see God at work.

16. What is one of your favorite Books of the Bible? Song of Solomon-keeps us focused on the importance of a healthly and loving relationship with our spouses.

17. What is one of your favorite Bible verses (or passages)? WOW!!! Let me see, John 11 chapter I think beginning around the 43rd verse.  Mary and Martha sent for Jesus because their brother was sick and Jesus waited until Lazarus was dead before coming.  Jesus called for Lazarus to come forth and Lazarus arose out of his sleep and came out of the tomb.  This keeps me focused on the fact that God is never late, but comes at a time in our life when only He can to the impossible.  He may not come when we want Him, but He'll be there right on time"

Hi Sheylinha,  I love that song Jesus-Messiah too.  I love to sing it when it comes on the radio.  So you play the guitar too - that's cool! you don't even need a radio to sing.
