I know we should never compare ourselves to celebrities....
Okay so I'm 5'4 very athletic and i've been maintaining 105-110 pounds...my measurements are 32DD-25/24waist-32.
personally i think i look emaciated and wanted to get up to at least 110 maybe even 115....
i stumbled across some celebrity height and weight stats....not that i want to look like any of these women - but i thought it could give me some insight on how much weight i'd like to gain.....
Kate Beckinsale: Actress (movie "Underworld")
Height 5'8" - Weight 115 pounds
Megan Fox: Actress (movie "Transformers")
Height 5'6" - Weight 114 pounds
Ellen Pompeo - 5'7, 100 pounds
Halle Berry - 5'7 - 115 pounds
WHATTTT????? seriously. I couldn't believe this - especially halle berry i think she has such a healthy looking body - her weight would be equivelent to me being 100 pounds! that doesn't even make sense...she has a muscular toned body - do these measurements seem real? or someones uneducated guess? and ellen pompeo i consider too skinny but these means that if i were her equilivelent weight i'd be 85 pounds....WTF?
google some athletes' stats.
Haven't you ever heard that the camera adds 20 lbs.? These people have to be underweight to look good on film. Fortunately for you, you don't have this problem and can maintain a healthy weight and look good in person.

http://www.one80.com/articles/1715/top-8-hott est-female-athletes.html it is important to remember that these people have an investment in their health whereas hollywood celebrities have an investment in their image. if you're going to make such comparisons it should be to people who work with nutritionists towards optimal health and performance not superficial image. these women are sexy, and i'm heterosexual, healthy, and i'm sure they are not crash dieting like celebs.
ellen pompeo looks horrible - I'd never want to look like that.
and the whole "TV adds weight" thing is very true. For regular person reference, I have a friend who is bangin' hot. I mean, everyone turns their heads and stares at this woman. She's a vision. She was an extra on a TV show not long ago and she almost looked heavy to me. In "real life" she's about a size 6 and 5'8". Not remotely heavy.
oh i agree about ellen pompeo....i was just giving a spectrum of diff celebs
This is so depressing!! How can people be that thin?? The sad thing is that they look so good, and when I see their weight I think only of how much I'd have to lose to compare! How can we help but compare ourselves to celebrities when they're the ideal, anyway? Doesn't everyone want to be ideal, after all? I don't believe the camera adds that much weight, anyway. They probably look the same in real life as they do on film.
God, thanks for making me sad! Oh, well. :(
ummm...what? i don't even know where to begin to start with that last post....
We can’t be 100% sure of their exact weights unless they tells us or we know it as fact, other wise how do we know the information is accurate? It have seen a lot of estimations of celebrity weights that would be completely untrue.
I am about 167 cm which is about 5 ‘ 5 at least, and weigh about 114 lbs with a BMI of 19 or a tad more
I often get annoyed at the fact that I would look larger then some one as healthy looking as Halle Berry, but the thing is, she only looks that healthy due to the fact she is up against so many other thin women that she looks quiet curvy.
I was 110 - 112 up until recently when I decided to gain a tad. Every thought I looked great but it was a precaution.
So even when I had a BMI of like 18, I was only “ just normal” compared to all the celebrities. I would now look way bigger then them on TV. Annoying, but it doesn’t get to me much as I counter act those thoughts by looking after my body so it looks as best it can! They may have nutritionist and personal trainers micromanaging their life, but they still have to commit to being very healthy, which is something we have just as much ability to do.
I have fine tuned my knowledge about how/what/when to eat and learnt about how to have a macronutrient ratio that works for me; these celebrities do not necessarily have the knowledge we can have. I am a normal - small build, with a normal metabolism yet I eat 100% clean unprocessed foods, and have done so much research and know so much (part of my career choice) that I find my body is not too much heavier then these “ celebrities”
I know that a lot more people then you would think can look similar (although probably not as perfectly toned) to celebrities in terms of their body weight and shape. Fine tuning things can significantly effect your weight, without eating less calories I found!
I'm not saying all of them do this but they'll promote themselves as a smaller size than they really are.
How are they that thin?
THEY'RE NOT!
For every measurements you find, add 1-2 inches everywhere except for boobs, where you should decrease to find out MAYBE their measurements...on that day where they had the stomach flu and also went to the sauna.
They ALL add 1-5 inches to their height, and decrease 10-30 pounds in their declared weight.
I mean, take Kim Kardashian. She says she's 5'2 and 118 pounds. YA RITE, more like 5'0 and 130.
suzushii - I totally agree with you on Kim Kardashian! I read in People (or some highly credible news source, ha ha) that her hips measured 40" and she was a size 2. Okay - show me the clothing size chart that 40" hips fit into a 2. I have 34 inch hips and wear a zero. I find it hard to believe that there is a 6 inch difference between one size. I don't really see why they feel the need to exaggerate the truth. Listing false weights or sizes for pr purposes doesn't change your actual size - it's like lying on your drivers license!
I wouldn't even believe the 40inch thing either. I used to have a 39.5 inch hip measurement before I started a healthy lifestyle, and I daresay it was smaller then hers.
The sad thing is...there's nothing *wrong*with how she looks, so she shouldn't have to lie about it. And there's nothing wrong with being a size 4-whatever, if you carry it well and are still in a healthy BMI range.
I mean, if 130-140 pounds gets you to look like that, then what's to be ashamed of? It's just a number! 130 pounds can look, on a person of the same height, and even built ...completely different! She has boobs and yes, a big butt, but also a tiny waist? While when I was 125 pounds, I had a big belly and almost Bcups. If it was to choose between my body then, and hers now, I'd def choose hers, even if it is heavier.
Anyways, they do exagerate because people DO get hung up about the numbers. I remember when I was a incredibly skinny 15 year old, and I liked this dude, and he asked me how much I weighed. I said 100 pounds (at 5'4....). He was like: wow, you don't look 100 pounds, all my girlfriends have been 90 pounds or less and around the same height.
Obviously I was the one being honest, and all his other girlfriends had cut the number down...for some "smaller is cuter" harebrain idea.
the main reason i asked this is because at my size weight i think i look to skinny but when i see celebs with "supposed" bmis that are quite a bit less than me i think they look semi-healthy....even if the camera adds 10 pounds pictures don't....that's the only reason i was asking is it true that these celebs weigh this much b/c most of the time it looks to me that they weight at least 10 pounds more....like once i read angelina jolie is 100 pounds and 5'6....often i think she is way to thin - but i would NEVER imagine her to be that small that is wayyyyy to thin
what do you think is 5'4 105-110 too small....or if i'm healthy can i just continue to maintain this weight - it's not a problem to maintain i don't have to try really hard...i run everyday and do weights and i eat very healthy - the only reason i wanted to gain weight is to ensure that i never have any problems with my period -- i havent yet but i've read a lot of horror stories about ppl losing it and not being able to get it back....
I'm 5'4 and 113-114 currently and I'm pretty skinny in some parts (my arms are sticks with no muscle, I've had them the same size since I was 13-14; chest is bony, like ew, you can sorta see my sternum), my waist is 25in, no flab there, but then my ass is HUGE (37 inches.....), and not because of bones, it's all booty, and my thighs are regular sized and muscular. Calves are also muscular, and regular sized.
Personally I'd be a lot happier if some of that weight in my lower midsection would move all over my torso, because it's too bony. But I can't. I always lose weight from the top, and I do *not* want to see ribs between my boobs. And if I gain, I do not gain in the upper part. I was 20 pounds bigger then I am now, and my upper part was just as bony.
However, you may look completely different. I'm a small frame (fingers wrapped around wrist overlap for an inch), but I've seen a few people who had an even smaller frame then me.
So...it really depends on how you look. Any of these : gaunt eyes, sunken cheeks, sharp jaw, ribs between boobs, visible ribs sitting normally in front or back, bony shoulders, sharp hipbones, sharp knees, no definition to calves - then DON'T lose any weight and GAIN some (with a slight increase in calories, emphasis on protein, and some non-running exercise).
The weight is just a number. Apparently some women go down to BMI 15 and still have a period (which doesn't make it healthier but still). If you're worried about your reproductive health, then be sure to expose yourself to the sun at least 15 min daily (vit D), eat some algae (super high in calcium and magnesium, waaaay better then dairy), and continue exercising every day.
I am fairly certain Halle Berry weights more than 115 lbs, more like 125.
It sounds like you are on the thinner side of healthy. At 5'4" you could probably stand to weigh as much as 120 and not look the least bit chunky, especially if you have a good deal of muscle mass as I'm sure you do if you excercise a lot. It seems to be the way with runners, no matter what they eat, they stay very thin because they are doing so much cardio. But you know your body, and if you don't have any health issues, then you are probably right where your body is supposed to be. If you want to gain a little weight, add things like avocados and almonds to your diet, and eats an extra slice of bread with dinner :)
I am 5'2" and presently 118, but I am happiest at 112.
Those celebrity statistics do not sound right to me, maybe Ellen Pompeo, but she is, in my opinion, unattractively thin.
Evangeline Lilly is 5'5" and 121 lbs
Jessica Alba is 5'7" and 128 lbs
Jennifer Lopez is 5'5" and 120 lbs.
These women have fit, healthy, and thin bodies, but they still look like women!
Do not go to pro-ana/pro-mia sites to find stats like this, because they are almost certainly wrong.
I’d like to raise my point again, about how if we all ate 100% clean, and paid more attention to details, such as protein/fat/carbohydrate ratio’s, then fine tuning things can actually make the average person significantly slimmer.
I am not suggestion that the thinnest version of a persons body is the best aim to have in life. However, through a lot of experience, I have discovered that, for example, 112 - 116 lbs at 5 ‘ 4 - 5 ‘ 5 is a pretty realistic weight for a lot of medium build, average people.
A lot of the well known celebrities and people in the public eye do fine tune their diets, although their trainers possible do a lot of the work for them - tell them exactly what to eat to get in top shape for rolls.
If the average women ate exercised like they do, then a lot of average height women would be within the 112 - 118 range but it is not realistic for the average person to give up processed food, eat clean most of the time, and fine tune their diet, and have personal trainers designing work outs for them from 3 - even 7 days a week, depending on the goal of the client!
I am interested to know what some of the celebrities really do weigh! I do think that 110 - 116 would be pretty standard though, for the average height women.
I noticed that they go through skinny phases too - I have seen Jessica alba looking very thin in a particular film, no more then about 112 at her height.. And other times she looks more toned and heavier/healthier.

LOL. These women are not 5"7 and weigh 100 or 115 lbs. Nor are they all that tall either. You have to keep in mind that a lower number on the scale is much more glamorous.
Case in point, I met Beyonce back in 2005. She's supposedly 5 ft 7. She was wearing these huge heels and she was barely my height (5ft8) when she gave me a hug. 5ft7? I don't think so.
Besides, they all have different body types, some heavier/"curvier" than others. They can't possibly all fall into a range of 110 - 120 lbs. That's just B.S.
If anything, they probably share similar Body Fat percentages, anywhere from 8% - 15%. Neither of which, I might add, are terribly healthy.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
