*This is my 3rd or 4th time on calorie count. I always do well when I'm active on here, but then start slacking off. Currently, I need to lose 10-15 pounds. I have been saying that since October, but this time, I really want to do it. My husband and I are thinking it is time to have another baby and I would like to lose the weight BEFORE the baby weight starts up! Will somebody on here PLEASE help hold me accountable?!?! I'm excited about this group - I already kind of feel "at home"...

Hi, my name is Liz from Pennsylvania. Green is my favorite color and I listen to Praise music. I work in campus ministry and happy that you began this group. Currently, I am reading Death on a Friday Afternoon: Meditations on the Last Words of Jesus from the Cross by Richard John Neuhaus. My favorite author is Raymond E. Brown (Johannine scripture scholar). These are authors are a bit technical and not for every reader.

My favorite book of the Bible and where I have spent the most study time is John.

My favorite scripture story is the Woman at the Well, also from John.

My favorite verse is "I can do all things through Christ" which is what attracted me to this group.  Blessings, Liz

Welcome chisholmtrails - my dad grew up in Michigan and Canada is still his favorite place to vist.  Hopefully warmer days are heading your way. It's been nice here in Florida!  I love histories and biographies too! I got my son hooked on bio's of the presidents.

And welomce Liz - I haven't heard of the book you are reading but it sounds good, very thought provoking I'm sure.  The name of the group attracted me as well!  this is so neat that we can unite across the continents and encourage each other! I'm constantly amazed how things have changed since I was younger (and I'm only 47!)

Hi Lorraine, My son is in Michigan and my daughter is in Tallahassee.

Thankfully it is getting warmer.

I think anytime you can get your children to read, it's great.

Hello, I live outside a small North Carolina town.  I am committed to pink and purple, have no pets because I want the freedom to travel when I get the opportunity.  However, the neighbor's dog thinks he lives here.  I love southern gospel and am beginning to appreciate the new praise songs.  Also, oldies.

I just love books - no favorite author, really.  I love second hand stores and bargains. Diet Coke and love being home. 

I accepted Christ as a child at home after hearing Mother talk about a book she had read about the rapture. 

I have recently relied on the verse, "He hath not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind."

I just read notes mother wrote about me as a child and my favorite song was "In My Heart There Rings a Melody" - and I still love that song!!

I am thankful for having found CC, but even more thankful for the support of a group such as this!!

Ah-ha.  Another lover of 2 Timothy 1:7!!!!! 

After going through the deepest of bipolar / manic depression (nearly borderline schizophrenia), I have claimed this verse as my own.  Whenever Satan tries to tell me that I am not what God can use OR he tries to tell me that I am out of my mind, I Stand Upon This Promise of having a SOUND MIND.  

By the way I also like Southern Gospel (as long as it touches my heart).

Proverbs 3:5-6 is my favorite verse: Trust in the LORD with all your heart  and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight

 favorite songs or hymn? There's within my heart a melody, and about 500 more, I love about every song in the song book at my church.

I love the old hymns too - I cut my teeth on an old Sandy Patty tape of favorite hymns long ago, and I tried marking a hymnal with my favorites once and just about every page is dog-eared!

9.  When did you accept Christ as your personal savior? You know, I wish I could give the absolute correct answer to that. I thought I had as a pre teen and have turn to Him repeatedly throughout my life. However, about six years ago I had what I call a surrender so complete and fierce that it wiped everything out except loving Him. So if I were totally honest, I think I would say that was my real 'saving' experience because He says "I am doing a new thing" and also "Those who belong to Christ become a new person, the old is gone" and this is so exactly what I experienced. Like a total love came over my soul and I have been in love with Him ever since.
