despite it's likely caloric properties, Baklava is perhaps one of the greatest treats in the whole world (just tried it for the first time tonight). Wow... what else have I been missing??

i agree-- i've had homemade authentic baklava and it's freaking to die for!! It's probably the 1 dessert that I would choose over chocolate any time. yuuuum.

Real chocolate mousse!

Halvah. Preferable one made from sun flower seeds. Umm good chocolate? Most people think Hershey is a good chocolate. *shudder

i love chocolate and i love halvah, but i have to go with tini: there's nothing like baklava.  of course, i haven't had it since Santorini, 1989.

My Granny made Baklava every Christmas - she and my grandfather were born in Syria.  It is truly a wonderful treat!  And Halvah - can't believe you guys mentioned that!  Love it and it's very hard to find around hereFrown -but when I do, I stock up!

BTW - Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Not a huge fan of phyllo...but the filling is delish - I guess I will try halva when given the opportunity :D

Oh, geez, do I ever agree. My housemate made baklava for a potluck we had last month, and it was my first time trying it, and it was AMAZING.
