who would have known??!!

Okay-

So I got surprised today. i have alwaaaaaaaaaays thought of velvetta being a definite no-no, because it is sooo bad for you... and i was at work today (i work at a restaurant) looking for something to eat and i looked on the back of the velvetta package and saw that a slice of velvetta was 60cals and like 5g of fat..i know its not the best but compared to other cheese, its slightly better.

Who would have known?????? I am definitely not taking this up into my diet, but i thought that was kinda weird..

same thing with gravy... i thought gravy was so bad for you, and i looked on the jar and its 30cals 1/3 of a cup and 1gram of fat.

Again, i am not gonna consume gravy everyday, but i just think its weird that the stuff i have programmed myself to completely stay away from, really isn't that bad.

Has anyone else ever came to these realizations???!

I was surprised that ice cream, even the full fat kind, is not too high in calories if you can manage to only eat half a cup. It's lower than most candy bars and definitely lower than say a slice of cake.

Something like valvetta I'd be more concerned with the amount of sodium it has!  Same with gravy

Many of the foods out there today could be good for us in the right portions!

I've found that my problem is that i didn't know when to stop or i would load up my plate with a huge pile of food.  The foods i was eating before really werent' bad for me, but the HUGE portions were!

If you learn to enjoy your food, 1 piece of chocolate is satisfiable, as can be 1/2 cup of ice cream.  I find it much easier for myself to enjoy smaller portions than when i first began this diet!

I haven't had Velvetta in soooo long. I had it a lot as a kid. I stopped when picking my own foods because i was under the impression that it wasn't real cheese just a "processed cheese food product" and not very good for you. But it does melt great. Wow, what we ate as kids!
I eat the Velveeta slices just for that fact.  They are much better than any other the other cheeses I checked and it has the Smart Choice label on it.
