Korean dining...need suggestions

Quote  |  Reply
Hello to everyone.... I need help!  I will be dining at a Korean restaurant tonight and do not know what would be safe to order from the menu (calorie-wise).  I tried to look for ideas on the site but didn't find any - any suggestions?!?!?!?!  After the exercises I did this afternoon - I have about 700 calories to go for the day......  Thanks - really appreciate your insight!

I love Korean food.  I think a good option would be bibimpab, which consist of rice, chicken, and loads of veggies, including kim chi.  If the portion is huge, eat half and bag the other half.
they usually give you a TON of appetizer things before that consist of a lot of raw-ish veggies (some are pickled).  Fill up on those and share something (like a soup that sounds relatively safe) with someone else!

have fun!
Thanks for your suggestions!  There were tons of appetizers - which I loaded up on, and did order the bibim bap - it was a great meal and I didn't feel like I overate.  Thought it was the safest on the menu as it had a lot of veggies and it wasn't fried or anything.  Glad I ordered that and not the bbq meat.
Although this is too late for you I still would like to suggest sth. Most Korean restaurant has this soup called "seafood tofu soup" it comes with a bowl of hot fish bone and tofu soup and a bowl of rice. It's a little bit spicy but it's soooooooooo good. Its also healthy and low fat too! I used to order the bibimbab but it's high in sodium because if you look at the bottom of the bowl they put lots of sesame oil and soy sauce there.

I'm obsessed with Korean food and Korea haha....
