Kristy Alley...that will not happen to us!
OK....share your success stories...if you are at maintence or lost more than 20 and have kept it off for over a year....let's hear what is you key to your success. For me I think it is CC and chatting....I needed the support and the knowledge I have learned from all of you I am the lowest I have been in 7 years and I plan on staying with CC....forever!
Hey - I lost just under 35 pounds and have been maintaining for a little over a year now (more info in my profile). I'm not sure that there's just been one key to my success - calorie counting was obviously the first move, and learning to enjoy exercise (and sticking with it after weight loss) was very important.
Also just realizing that the scale is a tool to measure progress, but it isn't the only thing to look at - how you feel, how you look, how you think about food (it isn't the enemy, nor is it a remedy for boredom) all matter. I think about where I was when I started in July '07... I was tired, unhappy, frustrated... and I felt like I had wandered down a dark path, and there was no going back. I was wrong, and I'm just glad that I realized that I could do something about my weight and my health.
Lifting weights has probably been the best ego boost for me, though - it makes me look so much better, compared to when I was at my current weight years ago, but no muscle. I feel strong, I can do things I never thought I'd be able to do, and and I don't experience the same back pain that I once did.
Thank you for your reply....that is exactly what I am looking for! Great job amethystgirl!
