Weigh-ins: Mondays

Finale Weigh-In:  Monday, Sept 1st, Labor Day: A day of rest from work, you can pat yourself on the back for the good you've done for your own body this summer~!

Set a reasonable goal that you think you can achieve with making better eating choices, exercising beyond your regular daily activities, drinking more water, counting calories.. however you want, as long as it's a good, healthy way to lose weight. Get started today!

    Am trying not to let impact of medication change get me down. Have to stay positive. More clothes that were worn recently (had cleaners tags on them) were to large to wear again yesterday. The C25K conditioning is working. Would have never thought I could run 20 minutes w/o stopping when we started this challenge. So a lot of positives going on. Have to forget the scale for now otherwise will get tied up in knots.

    No change this week as I slacked off just a bit... that and I seem to plateau for a bit before losing more weight so I'm not concerned. I'm learning how my body works.

    So, did anyone find or start up a new challenge?

    Unless something drastic happens this week, it doesn't look like Im going to meet my goal.  Its been raining to much here which prevents a lot of my exercise routine.  Ive been trying to do the couch to 5 k running program but, with my arthritis I can't run in the rain.  It was beautiful yesterday, but hubby was home so I didn't go running.  Today its cloudy and threatening to rain again.   If I can get out there and run, I might be able to lose the weight.  Otherwise, Im pretty well screwed.

  • Yay me I lost again this week!  Ok so one week to go and still 4.5 lbs away from my goal of 170 pounds so I don't think I'll be making it but I am really proud that that if I do miss it it will only be by a couple of lbs.  Thanks for all the great support guys!!

    For those of you looking to move on to another challenge together, I joined a "loose 30 pounds for the Holidays" group. Sign up's close 8/31 and it officially starts 9/1 so it would be a perfect transition from here! I know 30 pounds sounds like a lot but Xmas is 16 weeks  away so it's really only like  1.8 pounds per week , totally doable.  Go to my profile it should be right near the top of the threads if you are interested in joining.

    I was sick over the weekend and barely ate anything so today's weight probably doesn't even count. I'll probably end on an up-note next week, but it sure looks pretty right now!

    WEEK 10 (Aug 25) - 175.5  Laughing

    Cant believe that it's still coming off!!! I am so glad I found this website. Just logging food and being accountable for what goes in has made a HUGE difference. I really work out less now than when I was not logging. Apparently a whole lot of calories were going in while not enough were getting burned.

    I really think I can get back to a size 6 by Xmas. I will probably not do another challenge but will definately keep true my caloric intake. YEAH!

    Oh forgot to add... as my reward for being true to myself...A full body massage. DOUBLE YEAH! I would highly suggest it especially before you start your next challenge. It's a great way to start out on the right foot....and your muscles will thank you.

  • Hey guys, so I am weighing in  a day early because I won't be around tomorrow, and I lost a whole 1/2 a pound! lol ok so I didn't do so hot this week but I did loose a total of 15 pounds since starting the challenge and was only 4 pounds away from reaching my goal , not to shabby if I do say so myself.  Again thanks for all the great support and I will continue to weigh in on the "loose 30 pounds by the holidays" thread if you guys want to continue together.  Best of luck to everyone!!

    Labor day Challenge Monday Weigh-in

    Start weight (June 18) 254

    GOAL: 240 (by Labor Day)

    • WEEK 1 (June 23): 250.5. Got over my period this week and experienced the typical (for me) several-pound-drop at the end, which makes up for the miniplateau I get during it. Also worked my tail off this week.
    • WEEK 2 (June 30): 249. On track!
    • WEEK 3 (July 7): 249. Bad week - repairs to pipes in our apartment have necessitated eating out more than normal.
    • WEEK 4 (July 14): 248-ish. Forgot to weigh today. Was 248 on Sunday and 245.5 on Tuesday. (Water loss for sure.)
    • WEEK 5 (July 21): 244! Well, this was the end-of-period several-pound loss again. 4 pounds in 6 weeks sounds pretty do-able. Maybe I should rearrange my goal. :D :D
    • WEEK 6 (July 28): 242. Things are proceeding apace.
    • WEEK 7 (Aug 4): ?  Weight was fluxuating a lot this week.  I got 240.5 one day, and 243.5 two days later.  See week 8 for details on why.  I failed to measure myself on Monday, so no weight recorded.  :/
    • WEEK 8 (Aug 11): 243.  Bleh.  A little backstep caused by a number of things.  A little overeating, a little less activity (pulled a muscle in my hip :/), and a little of the monthly thing.  Back on the exercise wagon as of yesterday, though - my hip is healed, I think.  And being a little more careful about the food - took the candy off my desk for one thing ;).
    • WEEK 9 (Aug 18): 239.  Goal achieved!  In fact this was my 3rd straight day under 240, so it's real.
    • WEEK 10 (Aug 25): Meh.  Didn't weigh myself that day and got up over 240 for most of the week.  Back at the plateau.
    • LAST weigh-in (Sept1): 238.  Goal re-achieved!  To break the plateau I started eating MORE rather than less.

    Total weight loss: 16 lbs!

    Goal Achieved!

    I was afraid I wouldn't lose a bunch this last week (although I did see 192.5 on the sale on Saturday), but I am ecstatic to have made my goal of getting out of the 200s - forever!
