A few of us have been chatting about how difficult we find weekends.  Our problems range from not drinking enough water to simply not logging on to CC at the weekend.  Other favourites include not exercising, drinking too much alcohol and not exactly staying on track food-wise!  I'm pretty sure I've stayed away from CC at weekends because I knew my "friends" would kick my butt, get me moving and help me stay on track and I didn't REALLY want to!

If any of this sounds familiar, then come and join us.  I'm committing to logging on more at weekends, in order to stay focussed but I need people to chat with - interested?

And if you have any bright ideas on how to stay on track at weekends, then please post them here - otherwise, chat to you at the weekend!

I always blow it on weekends, and this weekend is going to be really bad.  Two Mother's Day celebrations with lots of good food and desserts.  No hope.....

Oh my goodness...this is so what I need. I was just looking over my month's report and the days that I 'fell' off the wagon was in fact on the weekend. So yes most definitely count me in to staying on track during the weekend!!

Peace out!!

I'm with you on the weekend thing.  I am always logging on here to try to find some support and no one around.  So if you promise to check in I will too.

I am taking kids to the movies tonight.  I am a sucker for the movie theater popcorn so any advice on how to stay away.  I just know I am going to cave in.

What do you usually do on weekends?  Do you work on the weekends?

Hello all! I'll friend you once my PC stops acting up! Internet access at work is not the best! Thanks for signing up.

So, a bit about me - I'm 38 and live in the UK, which is why it'll look like I'm on here at weird times. I love CC and the support everyone provides but I'm struggling to actually lose weight at the moment. I feel great during the week - am exercising, sticking to my points (I do Weight Watchers) but then at the weekend it tends to fall apart :-( One of my best buds on here, Olivia77, is steaming through the numbers - she's lost almost 20 pounds recently basically by being more focussed and she's only 16 pounds from goal now. I want that! That said, she's one of the people that also struggles at the weekend so I'm hoping she'll join us here.

Popcorn - my advice would be - take your own - I know you're not supposed to, but a pre-measured amount that you've accounted for would be one way to limit the damage. Or, if you simply can't resist the "real thing", buy the smallest container, than get a drink cup, fill it up and either give the rest of the popcorn to one of your kids, or throw the rest away immdediately. Wasteful? Maybe - but I'd say it was more important to have a reasonable portion, than worry about throwing some food away. That's what I think (and would do!), anyway.

This weekend - I'm visiting my parents but will be on here as much as I can - dad has internet access and I'm also taking my laptop cos he has wireless now as well, yay!  So to answer the question - no, I don't work weekends, just Monday to Friday!

So, do we need challenges for the weekends? I'll start - let me know if you like the idea. How about, we get some exercise both days this weekend? It doesn't have to be huge or difficult - my aim is to a brisk 25 minute walk each day - totally achievable!

Good luck with the weekend ladies - make sure you drop by this thread and let us know how you're getting on :-)

This is a great idea.  I usually seem to do pretty well during the weekdays too.  On the weekends it's busy busy busy with the kids and taking care of things around the house.

I also think that your idea of weekend challenges is a great idea.  It would give us something to work towards and stay focused on.

Enjoy your friday!

I will try, try, try to log in on the weekend! I know it would really help me stay focused on my goal. The competition for computer time can be pretty stiff though.  I may be on here early in the morning before the rats get up!

Not feeling very inventive, I think I'll 'borrow' Caro's weekend challenge: 25 min of brisk walking for me too!

HELL YEAH!!   Welcome to all you weekend girls!

Now I am only 14 lbs away, caro!  ( :  WOO HOO

I was stuck about 20 lbs ago, and caro challenged me to "no drinking during the week."  That worked.  15/20 lbs fell off in the latter of a month with less alcohol....   HOWEVER that means Friday night when my J brings home booze, I really want to have that drink.  I know, I know.... it's bad for me.  BUT it's all about moderation -- eh?   Drinking too much = less worry about food intake etc = Monday I am up and sad, but I do it every weekend.  I want to break myself of that.  I do not have to drink to excess just because it is there.

I am very religious about getting my cardio -- especially on the weekend, so I am obviously the "drinker" caro mentioned above.  =P

MELNESS --   pop a 100 cal bag at home, stuff in purse, sneak in.  Cut up one or tweo small apples in tiny slices and munch away...  it's not that you want bad movie food, i am betting, but you are in the HABIT of mindlessly eating while watching a movie.  ME TOO --  I nursed a 100 cal bag of kettle corn and a small apple in slices all the way through Harry Potter 4.  I am going to see Ironman today with the juniors from my work/school, and I broguht my own popcorn and apples to take today.  ( :    If you really want the movie's popcorn, check out how many cals in has here and see if it's worth it!   ( :

Hi everybody from lose 10 by May 24th and everybody else! I will do my best to check in on weekeds- it won't be as often as during the week b/c I am usually not sitting at the computer...

I am challenging myself to no booze from May 11th to memorial day- I do already know of one cheat day for a birthday, but as that day comes closer I will preset a limit.

Speaking of weekends- can't wait to get out of work!!

I have a hard time keeping track on the weekends unless I plan out my food the way I do during the week. I think its so much easier to keep track during the week because I have a regular routine, but on the weekends its a free for all. Also I am on a computer all week at work and on the weekends the last thing I want to do is look at a computer!

I'll add you Caro, and maybe we can help eachother stay accountable on the weekends!!

Welcome thinthought and sparkler :-)

It's officially the weekend for me and here I am on CC!

As for Olivia thinking I was referring to her as the drinker - hey, you know that I'm right there with you!  Plus, I don't exercise, drink enough water or necessarily stick to the right foods. So I'm guilty of ALL of them!  Anyway, hopefully we can support each ther over the weekend and kick its butt!

WE CAN DO THIS!

And here I am on Saturday morning!  Give me a shout if you're around during the day.....

thinthought - remind the non-US person who is too lazy to get up and look in her diary - when is Memorial Day?  June sometime?  Good luck with that.  I like trying not to to drink Monday - Thursday.  The only downside is that I still go overboard at weekends cos I've been so good in the week!  Still working on that one.....

sparkler - looking forward to hearing from you over the weekend!

Everyone else - let us know how it's going!

Last night I did well with not drinking too much - I can't thank my willpower though - I'm at my parents' and it's just easier to drink less here.  Saying that, if I'd opened another bottle they wouldn't have minded, but I'd had enough :-)

My mum made a YUMMY leek and ham flan and salads for dinner last night - I'm going to work out the calories (points for me as I'm on WW) - if it's not too bad I'll post it as a recipe and give you the link - it was amazing, drool....

The good news - leek and ham flan is do-able, calories wise Laughing

Even better - I've done my Saturday walk already!  My mum pushed me out of the door at 9:30am as it's going to be hot today.  So I did a brisk 25 minute walk and then a 15 minute amble with mum (she's recovering from a heart attack so is not able to go very fast at the moment).

How is everyone else?  Awake yet?!

Tongue out

I'm up and hopping on while SS isn't gaming on the computer. Way to go Caro on getting the walking in! Give your mum a hug! (Do you do Mother's Day over there this weekend?)

Hey, FINALLY a number on the scale that is lower. YIPPEE! I don't even want to know if it's just water!

Doing general housekeeping stuff so far today...lots of up and down steps anyway.  It's cool here so I hope to get outside for my walk if the rain holds off long enough.

Hope to check in later!

Chris

We already did Mother's Day in the UK but my bro and sis should come through for tomorrow, fingers crossed.  They have a tendency to be crap, but I reminded my brother twice!

The walking was great :-)  Looking forward to tomorrow....

FLAN???  recipe please......  drool!!
Good for all of you so far this weekend.....

I helped finish priming and first coat robin's egg blue in my LR<  it looks amazing.....

Under tornado watch, so jogging may be out today.......

hey i'd love to be a part of this thread! i'm kind of a dork and am seriously on CC all the time! even on weekends, which is sad cause no one really posts much on weekends :( . yay for weekend people!!

Welcome aperfectblink Smile

Flan recipe - have posted the ingredients so now just need to get the method from mum.  I'll let you have the link when it's done.

Good morning everyone!  Another gorgeous day here so I'll have to get my walk deon soon.  I am at least dressed......

Does painting could as a workout?  My shoulders, pecs and arms say yes....

Been busy this weekend,  look forward to chatting here more next weekend.  ( :

Got room for one more?   I am around a lot on the weekends, especially in the afternoon and evening.  I would love to have some people to chat with, and am definitly up for some weekend challenges.

Hey Ya'll, Thanks for the advice about how to avoid the movie theater Hell. I caved, I totally lost control.  I ate the popcorn with the butter.  It was heaven I have to say and I guess a part of me regrets it but the other part loved every kernel....LOL

Well, I hope everyone had a better weekend than I.  Any new developments out there?

Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
