A few of us have been chatting about how difficult we find weekends.  Our problems range from not drinking enough water to simply not logging on to CC at the weekend.  Other favourites include not exercising, drinking too much alcohol and not exactly staying on track food-wise!  I'm pretty sure I've stayed away from CC at weekends because I knew my "friends" would kick my butt, get me moving and help me stay on track and I didn't REALLY want to!

If any of this sounds familiar, then come and join us.  I'm committing to logging on more at weekends, in order to stay focussed but I need people to chat with - interested?

And if you have any bright ideas on how to stay on track at weekends, then please post them here - otherwise, chat to you at the weekend!

The weekend is upon us.

My stepsister died in a car accident yesterday early morning, so this weekend is going to be rough.     I will get through it without pigging out and drinking too much.    (that's the goal)

I also plan to drink even more water than usual and jog both weekend days.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE:  how about we have to do all three of the preivous challenges all this weekend?

1)  drink at least 64 oz of water
2)  at least 30 minutes of cardio or other workout
3)  at least 4 servings of veggies

We can do this!!!!

Happy weekend -- my first day of vacation and I'm off to work :oP  I'm hoping Im not standing around all day and I'll get my cardio in waiting tables haha and then add some more later this evening when I'm off of work!  LOVE this 90 degree cleveland weather!  Have a good one everybody!

just discovered it now, but i can jump in. did about 2 hours of gardening yesterday, and had enough water, only veggies was slightly lower which is unusual for me (i was traveling from my parents weekend house to work etc, so i could not eat like normal). so saturday is 1) and 2) accomplished, and 3) not accomplished.

upon coming home at midnight i ate 900 cald worth of cheese and other stuff. i am kinda sure it wa snot the plan, grrr. probably somepsyhcological stuff going on (i was not hungr,y but i did very very good when visiting family, and it included a celebration, so i somehow felt like wanting to "reward" myself - funny thing is, this cheese was not even very good.)

sunday shall be back on track, wantingg to accomplish all the things - with so much calories already eaten past midnight, my day shall be veg, veg, yogurt, veg, veg, and some muesli for breakfast only:)

Olivia - I am so sorry to hear the terrible news about your stepsister!  It is a shame when such tragedies occur in our life.  DO NOT waste a single minute thinking about your weight at this time- it is of no importance.  If you choose to eat nothing but celery, that's fine, and if you choose to eat nothing but chocolate ice cream, that's fine too, let your heart lead the way.  God willing, there will be plenty of time for all of us to reach our goals when you've come through this period of  turmoil.

Another weekend looms! I hope we can all make it a good one!

I'll be patching walls, painting walls, floors and stairs, and putting up a new backsplash. After that I'll be putting all our stuff BACK in the kitchen. Surely that will count for some calorie burning! The danger will be that cooking is difficult so we'll probably get take out a lot. I've got to stay aware so that I make good choices!

good luck with the kitchen reno, chris  ( :  sounds fun!   I want to do that SO BAD< but first I have to actually finish living room work i.e. paint and put all the trim back up.  (woo)

I am really missing caro's leadership on this post....    ) :

How about 2 goals for this weekend?

1)  drink at least 100 oz of water both days
2)  at least 30 minutes of physical activity

DO IT!!!    ( :

and another weekend has come.

time to buckle down. the greece game for euro cup is tomorrow, its soo hard to keep my diet when i will be with friends, and all the tasty greek food is around me like gryos yumm!!!!! its impossible to say no, unless i fully say " im on a diet" -- but obviously that confidence thing kicks in again.
And lets not start on the drinks!!

And then sunday is fathers day!! ahhhhhhhhhh aka. fathers brunch which i will be having very little to eat. greeattttt.

alright so goals for these two hectic days.

1. EXERCISE (burn 400 cal each day.. DDR will be my choice)
2. Eat 1200 calories a day, smaller portions and healthier options when i go out
3. (EXTRA) just to remind myself ..buy MAC make up, buy food scale, buy fathers day present (shirt and tool) , buy shirt from costa blanca ..ill probably think of more

WISH ME LUCK!

hope everyone is ok!

back from london. lost 0.2 lbs (ie nothing as the scale sometimes reads up to 0.5 lbs more and sometimes less)  - i feel quite proud as during thoise two days i have said NO to all the flapjacks, cakes etc., and ate very healthily (water, a bagel with hummus and guacamole, vegetables, one cup of mango juice - not always the most diet things on the planet, but all of it was fresh, healthy and made me feel very good. i was walking a lot so that any extra cals ingested were burned.). saw a good concert, went to the british museum, victoria and albert museum, and did lots of shopping - two t shirts, some tights and lots of underwear (i desperately needed new knickers as, after losing 59.5 lbs, the old ones look just weird:)-all pretty cheap )at primark, ie i do not expect them to last, but the point was to get pretty clothes as cheap as possible, which i did:).

some work related hiccups occiured while i was away, so sunday will not eb as relaxing as i had hoped, but so what. i will have to walk after i wash up, as my body sort of needs it now!:)

OKAY so its the weekend again!! Time to buckle up!

Congrats on your .2 lbs ka! Its great that your will power is so high!! Keep up the good work.

As for my weekend ...here it goes.

so tomorrow (friday) -- im going to a club planning on saving 500 cal to drink, and going to excercise for an hour!

saturday -- no idea, didnt really plan anything, but i will plan accordingly

sunday -- movies at night, going to just have a diet coke at the theatres :)

alright hopefully it goes as well as I am planning it to go hahh

let you know how it went after the weekend!

have fun at the movies.   ( :   I always sneak a pre-popped bag of 100 cal popcorn and a sliced bag of apples into the theater with me and happily/guilt-free much away.  What are you seeing?

MY big goals this weekend are to avoid alcohol (usually I only drink on weekends, but it's messing with my sleep and workout schedule) and get up early and jog BOTH DAYS.

CHALLENGE FOR ALL:
30 minutes of activity both days
AT LEAST 64 oz of water
One post here
at least 2 fruit/veggie servings each day

Can we do it??   ( :       OF COURSE!!!

I've REALLY got to get serious about the weekends! I like Olivia's challenges. I have two tough spots this weekend --a reunion picnic w my NOLA buddies and a church ice cream social. They're making homemade ice cream for the social and the reunion picnic will be complete w jambalaya, bread pudding w whisky sauce, and beignets! Gonna have to practice SUPER portion control! Pray for me!!!!

chris!!!  I am totally drooling.   ( :

I would have to take a 1/2 cup scoop with me.   AND USE IT!!!!!

You CAN do it!!!!!

xoxoxoxox

Just checkin in --

Last night was a lovely relaxing evening we made dinner in - and i think I ate enough green beans for everyone if they didn't get their serving in of veggies!  Then we hopped on Jeff's motorcycle and just rode for a while, stopped on the way home for ice cream but I had already walked earlier in the day for an hour  and my snack was well within my limit.

Today went shoppin with mom for some more vacation clothes. Shopping is so fun.  But now i'm trying to stop buying the inbetweenie clothes so I don't get stuck at this size and so I keep on going!!  Tonight another motorcycle ride planned to a park somewhere to get in a hike since my only cardio today was shopping haha.  I've been drinking water like crazy too so I think I'm well on my way to meeting this weekends challenge!

Good luck everyone -- what happened to Caro?

hey spedteach ( :

I do not know about caro   ) :   I have tried multiple times to get her to even just say hey, I am ok, but to no avail.   ) :

Sounds like a good night in/out   ( :

I think shopping like I do counts as cardio --  2 horus at a time as fast as I can.   =P

Here's to clothes that fit and motivate us further!

shopping is exercise:)) and if you try clothes on, well, it is sort of an exercise too.)))

LOL ---  I counted it.   ( ;

DId you meet the challenges??????

I did -- all of them!

Hope your weekend were good and your week is even better!

ate very good, drank a lot (NOT alcohol:)), walked 2+ hours on both days, lost about 1 lb, feeling goood

so my hiking plan was foiled by the damn ohio rain. After the terrential down pour,  we ended up going to play putt putt and to the batting cages (who knew I was so sporty? haha)  I've always liked putt putt but I was cranking those balls in the batting cages!  SO I didn't get my hike in, however, I feel like jumping up and down with victory / touch down moves from beating jeff in putt putt and hitting up the batting cages was better physical activity than no activity.

Yesterday definetly got the water in, definety got the veggies in, definety got another monsoon of rain and didn't get the usual physical activity I hoped for.  I feel like this was one of my better weekends. But who invented pizza and made it taste so good??? ahhh he's the devil!

sped - sorry to hear about the rain - doesn't it just kill when you're all set up for a challenge that gets  pulled out from under you?  But batting cages instead - what a great idea - maybe I'll pull my guys out there, now that little league is officially finished.

olivia, ka - great to hear you got the challenges done - I did not!  I walked, gardened and played par 3 golf on Saturday, walked/ran 2 mi on Sunday, but I ate practically nothing but cookies, ice cream and fruit all weekend.  Not what you'd call high nutrition, even if I did get my 2 fruit serving challenge covered!  And didn't even come close to the water target.

My challenge for next weekend is to write down my plan beforehand - say Friday morning (oh yeah, and stick to it...)

Yep, that's me! I do so well during the week, and then I totally sabotage myself on the weekend. It's strange, because I don't find it very difficult to work out during the weekend, but I can't stop eating!!! Frown  Then I feel like crap on Mondays, but I still end up doing it all over again the next weekend. Grrr!
