I want to find out how BMI relates to jeans/dress sizes - and how I should arrange my goals.

Ugh I hate these "what are your size" questions. Brings out a truckload of ED sufferers with depressing predictability.

5'9", 140ish, bmi 20.7

size 1-3 depending on the brand.

f'ckyoo bmi-E.D. bullshhhhh. strength training is the way to go. :D

5'8", 15 nearly 16 years old!

bmi 17.5 goal 20.. 15 pounds to go

size 8, i dunnoooooo wat that is in American??

I'm 18 (almost 19!!!)

5'7.5"

BMI - 17.4 :( ...trying to gain

Size - so I'm from Canada and apparently our sizes vary somewhat...well here, at the stores I shop at I'm a 3 in jeans/1 in shorts (big thighs!) and an XS or S in tops.

I am 5'9"...19 years old.

My BMI is 20.1.zero

I am from Canada... I wear a fairly large size considering my healthy BMI because I have hips!! I wear like a 6-10. It varies pretty much everywhere. In tops I am a medium or sometimes a small.

I think your goal though should really depend on you personally and how your body is shaped. I know that I will never fit into a size zero unless I somehow magically made my curves dissappear.

I agree... even when i was at my thinnest I was still a size 8. I could be totally anorexic, and I still wouldn't go lower than that. You can't lose bones!

I cannot believe the amounts of 16-17 BMIs I am seeing! That is intensely unhealthy!  Please do not use those BMIs as your guideline. A BMI between 20 and 25 is what you should aim for!

mla931 is spot on about the BMI. If you are underweight with your BMI, then you are underweight. Muscle weighs more than fat. So no matter how skinny you are, if you are an athlete, you would still have a healthy BMI with a lower body fat percentage.

Here are my stats anyway.

Age: 18, Height: 5'8-9, Weight: 145  BMI: 21,  Size: 6 - 8 US

Age: 20, Height: 5'7"-5'8", Weight: 128, BMI: 19.5, Size: 2 US

I am 19, 5' 8", 245 lbs, my BMI is 37.2, and a size 16-18 US.  Yeah, I'm a fatty. Wink

I am 16...almost 17 :P 5'8" 150lbs, and my BMI is 22.8. Trying to get down to 125 :)

Edit...I forgot my sizes lol. In jeans I am a size 9. Tops...usually L or XL. I like my clothes slighlty loose fitting...

Hey Sleepless, you're about my height.  I'm looking to get down to around what you are now. xP

my bmi is about 21.4 now and im between sizes 0-3 little under 5'7
