Ladies-What guy styles do you like?

Quote  |  Reply
What particular clothing styles do you like seeing guys wear? :)
Also, do you agree with guys wearing makeup--by makeup, I mean cover-up...things that make your face look "cleaner"

ugh, makeup, no :( i hate boys who wear eyeliner especially, unless they're like models in an ad or something because at least then it's done right.

personally i like the indie/eclectic/punk-rock ish kind of look. skinny-fit jeans, plaid shirts, vests, etc. i don't like the scene/emo thing all the freshman kiddies are into, it's annoying.

but the most important thing beyond the way he dresses is that he's clean and smells nice (:

Tinted moisturizer on a guy looks GREAT. You can make you own by adding a dab of foundation to whatever lotion you can use on your face.

My little brother wore that and no one could tell but would always tell him how he had the best skin.

caked on crust make-up looks nasty on eveyrone.

Clothing...whatever..just wash it. LOL
Different things look better on different people.
Dark or rich colors that are masculine.

I only just hate the taz shirts and tweety shirts and all that other wal*mart white trash looking crap.

OR

When they wear a button shirt open on the top like a 70's sleezeball...GROSS...ewww

I really like my boyfriend's style when we first met: lots of layers (long sleeve button-ups with a tee over), bowling shoes, and jeans. He had short, thick wavy hair that was always kind of shaggy looking, but not too messy. Sadly, he doesn't layer as much ("I've already got the girl, so I don't have to anymore" <I sob>), but he still always looks a bit quirky. He's a 6'3 skrawny Asian boy with the occasional scruffy facial hair (only around his mouth though, haha, he can't grow a beard!) I LOVE scruff on a man. Makes sweet, gentle kisses that much edgier. Wooo! I like tall dark and handsome too! I love me some brownies ;)

I like the savage look, beard and long hair, both of them clean of course. I don't mind tattoos as long as they follow the rules of good taste, however I don't like piercings, earings are ok but that's about it. A man who has a beard needs no make-up.
As for the clothing simplicity is the best, I simply hate the metrosexual look and the girly-like-boys that are promoted nowadays. Real men should dress in jeans and leather :D

OH YES. and i do love a good full beard. If a man has a beard and good looks...well then hellllo!

Lol! I think I have a bit of a beard fetish causes I will always choose a hairy man (within reason) over a clean shaven one. And totally agree men should look like men and ride motor bikes etc. I don't like them so skinny I feel like I'm gonna break them if I touch them. Tongue out However saying that, there's a lot more to it than just clothes/looks but obviously physical attraction is still important.

Kind of depends how old you are.  If you're over 21 please don't wear skinny jeans or too much skate-punk stuff. If you're under 40 no Don Johnson sport jackets with Tshirts underneath please :)

No cover up please ... but eyeliner is OK.

manly men, no skinny wimpy short guys.

none that wear abercrombie gay crap.
i like muscle and truck, facial hair and... skater ish, redneckish( i guess)

im not one for the ****

I like my fiance- not skinny but not big, he's slim. Thick black hair that I like when he keeps it short, full sleeve on one arm. He wears slim fit jeans and t shirts most of the time but loves to get dressed up. He's kind of girly in that way.

I like tattoos as long as they're done well and mean something to the person. I hate when people put random crap on their bodies.

while I hate to admit it.....redneckish for me too.

I love a good looking man in a pair of old (but not ripped up) blue jeans, a black belt, a plain t-shirt, a carhart, and a pair of black work boots. Short, spikey hair or crew cut. With his ear peirced and maybe a tattoo or two.
Oh, and I love the 5 o'clock shadow thing too.
Which, is why, while the income of"professionals" is nice...I seem to go for construction/factory workers and mechanics. :)
Well I'm married to a guy who has a rumpled-but-clean, vintage preppy-ish professor "I ride my bike to work" look. He prefers button down long sleeve shirts with a crewneck sweater overtop, or long sleeve rugby shirts (but have to have rubber buttons, and only discrete logos, with a classic stripe.... he's quite particular!!). Many of his shirts and sweaters are actually vintage, partly because he's very particular, but also because he likes this look that says, "I am good to the environment and reuse/recycle."

For pants he lives in Levi's jeans or flat-front khakis. Shoes are docksiders (I would like to see him expand in that department... but he's stubborn). He wears classic coats - he has a jean jacket, a leather bomber, a cashmere overcoat, and an army jacket (for when he's in dress-down mode).

He is clean shaven and has a full head of hair and always smells nice. He doesn't look vain or metrosexual at all, but he actually is! It's just calculated to look more downtread. One of his vanities is a pair of glasses, which he doesn't need, but chooses to wear when he wants to impress someone with his braininess. :-)

You will never EVER catch him wearing short sleeve shirts, tee shirts, non-button-down shirts, make-up, or sweat pants.

As for my type... of course he's my type. :-)

Before we met, I had a variety of "types" ... it all depends on the man. Bald can be quite sexy... so can beards and moustaches... a lawyer type in a suit can be great.. artist/rocker type can work too. I'm all over the map.

Things that totally turn me off include: sweatpants (except if you are working out or playing a game), shorts with socks, black socks with sneakers, sneakers (except if you are working out or playing a game), team shirts or caps (I'm just not into the whole sports scene myself),  tchatke shirts (especially the short-sleeve golf shirts with company logo, the kind you have to wear when you have booth duty), makeup on a man, nipple piercings (ewwww), tattoos (sorry, reminds me of my 80 year old uncle), motorcycle jackets,  hair that needs a hair cut! I don't care what style you wear, really... just keep up with the regular hair cuts.

Oh,,,, I once dated a guy with really long, full hair.... I always thought that was totally sexy. Until I dated this guy, with Fabio hair (and a body to match... hummina hummina!). Then I realized how annoying it is to have hair get in your mouth when you are kissing someone! frankly, I don't know how men put up with it. :-(

Clean, masculine....

What more could I want?

No make up, please. I don't even wear it...often. Once or twice every few months for special occasions. If he's worried about how he looks, and has to cake on a mask before looking at me straight...he's not the guy for me.

Other than that....I'm easy to please. Take care of yourself, smell good, and look good. Don't wear your sister's jeans, and keep your pants up. Wear appropriate clothing that isn't trashy, an ode to a gangster, and please....cut your hair...or...at least...manage to keep it out of your eyes.

You know. Simple stuff. Look good, keep it simple. Clean cut guys get me every time. I don't mean primpy, preppy, or prissy. I just mean, guys that shave, keep their hair somewhat neat, smell good, and wear clothing that a) Fits them b)Is clean, and c) is appropriate

I think it's amazing and wonderful how our taste varies so much...  Wow!  What diversity!

Me? I love preppy boys who look clean, very little body hair, well manicured, stylish, and I think make-up to cover a plemish is ok.  Not overly masculine, lots of thick dark hair.  Yumm, sexy...

I like boys to be clean and well put together.  I also have a thing for Asian boys.  I thought it was just a faze, but it doesn't show signs of stopping any time soon...  My tastes seem to have solidified like that...

I like boys who dress alt/indie

a band t-shirt, sweater vest, flannel fleece, tight jeans.

maybe a bandana around the head<3 haha

and i am pro-eyeliner for a guy, but not coverup =/

maybe translucent oil power? but only if its REALLY SHEER and NO ONE finds out.

us girls notice these things though. . .

Likes:  manly men - jeans and a t-shirt are my fave!!  Military uniforms (esp. Marines).  Facial hair is a definite plus (except for mustache only... ewww!  Hello 70's-80s!)  I like tats and piercings.  As far as makeup... well I like some guys on TV with it - lots of guys look sexy with eyeliner, but I'm not sure how I would feel walking around with a guy that had it on.  Hair - clean cut or bald (bald is sexy!!)

Dislikes:  rednecks/cowboys, tight pants, motorcycle garb (leather, etc.), long hair, and while they're not a turn off, I don't much care for guys in suits/tuxes.

either a guy who's muscular and his style is casual or loose-fitting sort thing.
or maybe a "college boy" look with the sort-of-but-not-really baggy jeans and tightish t-shirt
oorrrr *dont laugh* i dont know why but i seem to have an attraction for "dark" guys. like, dark clothes or black clothes, tattooes (if they are nice and not vulgar) and maybe one or some piercings. *sigh*.

lol, whatever his style is, Bam Margera is totally hot.

Good hygiene or hit the door and don't let it smack you in the a$$ on the way out! Especially teeth. If he doesn't brush every day, don't bother saying hello.

I don't like facial hair at all, can't stand how a 5 o'clock shadow feels on my skin.

I'm not particular about the clothing. There are so many sexy looks out there.

I'd really like to see more fitted jeans come back into style. I'm sick of seeing baggy pants. I want to check out the front and rear packages!

totally.

I like guys with nice hair i can run my fingers thru. My bf's hair was shaven and i made him grow it out and now he likes it. When he has it grown out ppl stop him and ask if he's a model. I hate when it's shaved. umm I like them to have good style. Nice fit jeans, not baggy and not super tight, skinnys look nice. :) I used to like only dark brown eyes on guys but now I really don't care, I like all color eyes. And i like my guy to have darker skin than me cause I am so white but that's not really important. Nice kissable lips, white teeth and a nice nose. As for makeup, i think only guys that are on t.v. should wear that, since it's a rule and ONLY when they are on t.v., and not too much. And of course rock stars are allowed to also. Eye makeup adds to their look :) But none of my guys would wear it. I like them natural and also i hate when they do their eyebrows too much. If they have a unibrow fine but if not then leave it alone. My bf also used to do his eyebrows and i made him stop. Ugh he looked so femenine. I like fit guys and that are taller than me, i am 5'4, i like them to be atleast 6'0 :)

Oooh. . . .

Give me slightly faded jeans that fit well and a black t-shirt. I'm also into fresh and clean, so a slight hint of soap or fabric softener smell is a bit of a turn-on. For work days I also like dress pants and a nice dress shirt. Denim shirts are good. But then give him glasses, too, for that professorial look!

I like hair that isn't crazy messy, but casual enough that if I run my fingers through it, even in the middle of a day, there's no problem. Curly is very nice. I'm not so much on facial hair--I have sensitive skin and I don't like the abrasions! :)

Makeup on guys? I can't really imagine it here in the heart of the Midwest. I agree the good hygiene is better than covering anything up.
I feel like I answered this before... but oh well:

Makeup - definetly NOT. But good grooming & hygeine is a must. Brush & floss teeth, and go ahead and white strip them too if you like. Keep your skin clean - okay to have a cleaning & moisturizer regimine. Eyebrows can be bushy but heck if you've got a unibrow and you want to spruce it up, go ahead... just don't go overboard. Cologne- I'd rather none, but that's just me. Hair products - yeah, go ahead.

Clothing styles - I've dated all types!!! I definetly have a penchant for the preppy look, as evidenced by the man I married: his uniform is button down shirts with a sweater, khaki's or levis, docksiders or loafers. But I also am a total sucker for a man in a business suit!!!

My least favorite fashion style: the overly sporty look, i.e., baseball cap, team sweatshirt, and sneakers.... but that's just because I'm not into team sports myself. A guy in running or biking gear is fine - I'm just not into the "My favorite way to spend a weekend is in my sports pub watching my team play football/baseball/hockey/soccer/etc" look.

I did once date a guy with Fabio long hair. I thought his hair (and his eyes and his body) were really HOT. But I have to say, after making out with him, I don't know how men can stand women with long hair... it gets into your mouth and in the way of everything... what a nuisance!!! Which is part of the reason I now keep my hair on the shorter side!!!

A guy with shoulder-length hair wouldn't be all that bad... but waist-length hair... yeah, it's more sexy in theory than in, ahem, practice!

Bald can be quite sexy on the right guy. And military buzz cuts are just fine in my book!

Facial hair: I like clean-shaven the best, but there is definetly something sexy about 5:00 shadow. And I do admit I like short, well-groomed beards and mustaches and goatees. My DH is chest-hair free, and I do like that.. but I also don't mind chest hair either!!

lean guys with glasses :)  i love the intellectual types.  don't really care about clothing.

oh and zits=zits.  makeup=zits + makeup.  gross.  clean-shaven good; stubble better.  beards are wrong. i'm 22 maybe in 20 years i'll feel different.
