Ladies, help please

I'm praying this is my PMS binging, because I'm absolutely insatiable right now!

I have gone over my maintenence by about 200 now, if not more, I feel terrible, I think I'm craving chocolate but I could just be craving sweet things in general.  It *may almost be that time but it's often irregular by a week or so, and I can't always tell...My mind is just going nuts.  I went to the gym today and I didn't even bother to weigh myself because I was afraid of what it would say...  Does this sound like PMS or is this just a normal diet freakout?

Calm down you ate 200 extra calories and it's driving you nuts.  Chill out and take a walk.  It'll relieve the stress and burn calories.  If you're really craving something sweet maybe just give in and have a cup of cocoa puffs or some other crunchy sweet thing.  Then you'll be over the craving and go on.

Good luck

it could be pms or it could just be a "diet freakout" buts its important to counter these feelings and learn how to push through them.  We all have our slip ups every now and again and its important to just push through them and keep moving forward.  200 calories over isn't the end of the world.  Tomorrow is a new day and if you still feel like your feeling extra hungry then try going on a run/walk so that you feel less guilty if you indulge in a little treat and make sure you are hydrated.  Treats aren't bad and it doesn't look like you went too crazy.  Crazy in my world means atleast 500 calories over maintenance...which still isn't the end of the world.

Are you actually hungry during this? or just feel like you need to relax?  sometimes when I "feel" hungry for chocolate all I raelly want is to get out of the house or take a bath.  But sometimes..yes I do really want/need that chocolate..

Okay.  I feel a little better.  One of my main worries is whether or not I keep accurate count of everything throughout the day.  I only THINK I went over 200, but how do I know it's not actually 500 or 600 or 700.  And what if I have a slow metabolism?  Some girls can eat 2000 a day to maintain (they must be very active) and it seems like if I eat that much I just blow up.

But I do feel a little better.  When I wake up tomorrow I'll start fresh again.  I do so love tomorrow.

You'll be fine.  You would need to eat 3500 calories OVER your maintenance just to gain a pound, so I wouldn't worry at all about 200 extra.  I've overeaten before up to 700 calories extra, and I didn't gain anything.  Also, when you're about to start your period, you actually NEED more calories.

Girls don't have to be extremely active to maintain on 2000 calories a day.  The body has a set weight that it naturally tries to direct you toward.  Just trust your body's signals.  Don't ignore hunger signals; your body is telling you something.

Obsessing over miniscule amounts of calories is one of the first stages of an eating disorder.  Just relax! :)

I wouldn't worry about 200 cals. Try to find some little boxes of Junior mints, and stash about 2-3 in your purse/desk. That way when the craving hits, you can have your choco craving and not feel to bad about it. There are also 100 cal boxes of candy bars. You can have one or two a day and not worry too much. Just don't eat the whole box of 100 cal snickers on the drive home like I did!! Totally defeats the purpose

Ha ha...  It was PMS.

Thanks you guys.  :)
