by the way, to make it fair I will inform you all of everyone's stats after weigh-ins so that I'm not the only one that will know.

Ann
Ann- I may have missed it, but how often did you say we should send you numbers, every monday right, weigh-ins in the morning? And I wonder about companies doing that too....
But I've felt better about it recently. There were some cookie people that messed up the serving size on a package and just recently got in a ton of trouble, it was on hungry-girl.com, so don't worry too much, they would get sued like crazy.

Everyone in this group is awesome, wait to stay motivated, everyone is so inspiring, so glad I joined!
morning, just getting the thread started for Wed.  it's already been a few days since we've started this group, and I'm loving it just as much as all of you!  Glad you all joined!

Anetta, yes every Monday morning is weigh-in.

Ann
wanna be fit: McDonald's icecream is supposed to be low fat. It's a guilt free surprise for me too!

I'm off to the Gym today again. only cardio today, probably HIIT, but it depends on what i feel like when I get there.
Guys, I'm losing motivation...

Everything was perfectly fine until my whole pizza episode on Saturday with my boyfriend's family... I've been eating 1200-1300 calories everyday for two weeks until this weekend.  On Saturday, I ate 1550.  Then on Sunday, I ate 1450.  On Monday, I ate 1700, and yesterday, I ate a whopping 1900.

I've been doing fine so far today... I've eaten 200 calories and it's 9:30 a.m.  The scale has gone up .5 lb. since the weekend... After two weeks of losing six pounds, I'm losing all sorts of motivation now!

=(

Keep up the good work though, ladies... I'm so proud of you guys!

Flo
FLO!!!!

Don't lose motivation!!!  Just hop back into it!  For me the scale can be discouraging if I look at it more than once a week.  Especially when I know I've eaten poorly I tend to wait to weigh myself until I've eaten fairly well for a few days.  It's not always the number I want to see, but I know that with time and commitment it will go down and make me happy :)  Not sure if that would be helpful to you, I know everyone is different with the scale.

Just think, how badly do you want this?  Imagine the end result of where you're trying to be and think, is it worth working to get there?  Do I really want to look like that?  I mean as it is you are probably fine, but if this is something that you really want to work to acheive then you should just stick with it!  I know you can do it, if you really want it!  Good luck, you can do it!!

Anetta, I can't remember if I answered you or not, but yes the numbers for weigh-ins are due on Monday's and it should be a morning weigh in.

Missk, this is my new found love, McDonalds ice cream, let's hope I don't overindulge, lol.  Good job on working out today!

Okay, well I've gotten my workout in, yay!!  A nice easy 3 miler today along with my core exercises.  My belly/upper arms is the most challenging part of my goals.  I'm trying to get my stomach smaller and as flat as you can have it, after having kids that is.  I'm thinking if I lose more pounds hopefully they'll finally come off my stomach!  For some reason I feel like my face is getting thinner, but my stomach is getting bigger, I think cause everywhere around it is thinning out but there.  I'm working on it though, I think I'll see results eventually.

Okay, we'll check you all later.
Ann
Flo, the same thing happens to me when I overindulge one day. I have such good intentions, but then I end up eating more than ever. For me it is something about an item like pizza. It sets me off with cravings for more fattening foods. Listen to Ann and don't lose your motivation now. Stick with it and I think it will all pass.

I have a few errands to run this moring so I could only ride my bike for 1/2 hour and walk for 1/2 hour. But I did figure out my pace and I was walking 3.6 mph. I would like to go a bit faster, but I go with my dear old dog. She's in good shape for 9 years but not sure how much faster we could go with all her stopping and sniffing.

Have a good day everyone. And as for the ice cream, I haven't really checked it out, but sometimes they put way more on the cone than a "serving" size so beware...

Cheers Laura
Hi skinny ladies!  $10 sounds good to me also and I have a paypal account.  This competition could very well make a significant difference for the end result for all of us!

I'm here at work eating my spicy indian soup.  I had to look up "thermogenic" and its definitely that (spices that may help to burn calories).  It is spicy, only 188 calories a serving, and better than it was on first tasting!  I'm going to skip out at lunch and walk for 20 minutes or so, and walk tonight also.  I love walking for the time I get to listen to music on my ipod!

I think everyone with pounds to lose struggles with coming back after eating a bit more or eating the wrong foods.  Try to remember that many diets advocate a day off to eat what you want.  Others say eating more calories for a day or so helps with losing weight (keeps the body guessing maybe, who knows).  I have a going away party for a coworker tomorrow so I will probably be dealing with this soon!

Sherry
Is it too late to join!? ohh and I am only 5'1"... This looks like fun!

Flo, since you're likely burning more calories than you're taking in even those days that you get off track, the scale is probably just reflecting temporary water weight gain.  Don't let it bother you too much.

Don't give up, Flo!

I know those up days suck, but look at how far down you've come.  You're doing awesome.  You figure, some days have to be up, right?  And only .5 up is nothing.  You'll have that off in a couple of days.  Just let it go, and keep on working.  Come on, there's cash involved now! ;)

Robin
I have paypal, too.  Just a suggestion, maybe we could make the $10 sort of a registration fee.  Two reasons.  One, when we put a little $$$ into something, we're more inclined to be committed and make it work.  It's motivation.  And two, I don't want to think about losing, but once I lose this contest, I'll be more inclined to drag my feet about paying up.  :D  Not that anyone else here would ever do such a thing!  Anyway, something to think about.

I feel pudgy today.  :(  Didn't count at all yesterday because I went to a "tasting" for a banquet meal.  There were five of us, splitting 3 dishes and 2 desserts, and there was no way I could add up what I had to eat.  I probably should have eaten before I went and then just take one bite of each thing...(and then spit it into a napkin!!!...haha..)...but I hadn't slept well the night before and wasn't thinking straight.  Then, hungry when I got home, I went for a slice of leftover pizza.  I really didn't think the calories would add up to that much, but it feels icky today.

Maybe pizza is just evil.  Today I had a CHEESE SANDWICH.  Ahhh!!!  350 calories, not counting the onion slice and mustard, and that was only on ONE slice of bread!  I was supposed to go out with friends for dinner, to a pizza/pasta place, but I just canceled because I can't afford the calories.  Hehehe...enough is enough.  This pasta/pizza/cheese binge has to come to an end.  Fortunately, ittbitty brought home some fish for tonight.  She?s so smart!

Anyway, Flo, onward!!   I think I'll make a detailed food plan for tomorrow before bed tonight.  No dairy, no wheat, no sugar......back to eggs and potatoes, artichokes, broccoli....all yummy and satisfying.  And that way I'll get back on track before the whole train is derailed.

Nice going, all you workout girls!   I?m impressed!!  Keep up the great work!

S
You guys are ABSOLUTELY the greatest... the GREATEST!

After reading your posts, I went to the gym and warmed up with 5 minutes on the stair stepper, then 60 minutes on the elliptical trainer (I've NEVER done above 30 minutes on it), followed by 5 minute cooldown on the stair stepper... I don't think I've EVER sweat that much in my LIFE! I'm absolutely exhausted right now, but I feel AMAZING!

I also did great with my calories today -- right on target at 1200.

Thank you guys SO much for pushing me to keep going. If it weren't for you guys, I would have undoubtedly overeaten again today and totally skipped the gym.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Let's keep shedding those pounds, ladies!! =)

Flo
Nata, you are welcome to our threads anytime.  We have already started the Biggest Loser Competition, but we will be starting another one after this one is up.  Glad to have you.

Susannah, sorry you're feeling "pudgy" I don't like that feeling at all! I'm sure you're not pudgy, just one hot mama, lol! Do some crunches, it always make me feel better, lol.  Good for you though, you're taking control before it goes too far.

Laura, that is so true about the McDonalds ice cream, I have thought about that before, but kind of forgot the thought :)

Sherry, that spicy soup sounds really good to me, I need to get the recipe for it!

I like the idea of "registering" the $10 right now.  How about we say by a certain date everyone needs to have registered.  I haven't used paypal in a REALLY long time, so I will have to go figure it out and see how it works.  What do you think a fair deadline will be for everyone to register?

keep up the good work all you ladies!  We can do this!

Flo, GOOD JOB!!!!

Ann
Its been an exhausting week so far... its exam time & I've been very very busy - I've hardly had time to get my food log done during the day!  I had pizza today for lunch, as we starting grading over 400 biology exams (my eyes are blurry.....), because it was quick & easy.  My last day of work is Friday; I'm so excited to be done for the summer and able to focus on this weight loss thing!
I have a paypay account too, and am fine with $10, just let me know when and where to send it!
Thank you all for the protein suggestions (I've never tried egg beaters, but am definitely looking forward to it) - for the last two days I've been pretty good about keeping my protein % higher than my fat %.  I also cut back on daily calories - I was consuming about 1600 a day because I've increased my activity and felt I needed the energy, but decided I might see some better results sooner if I only consume 1300 :-)   I hope its not too drastic for me though - I love food & hate the feeling of being hungry!
Keep up the good work, all of you.  I know we'll all have our "bad days" but I think the key is definitely letting them go & starting fresh on the next one!  I'll be more active in the group in a couple of days..... :D
Thanks Ann, for letting me know. I'll have to figure out my paypal account again, not sure if I still have one, I'll check on it tomorrow.

Looks like everyone is doing well.
Flo, don't get discouraged, we're here for you! And it's almost impossible to undo all the work you've done in just a few days, the challenge is to break the mood you are in and get back on track! So I agree with Laura, it will get better :)
* And wow, update, I just read your other post, and it did! That's awesome, great job! Flo, you are my motivation to do well tomorrow, inspiration wahoo!

I'll keep checking for the paypal deadline. Here I'm in Maine at my relatives house, so they keep trying to feed me fatty food, but usually if I just keep talking, they forget it's on my plate :) Ha, I go back and make myself dinner when I get there. Good luck to everyone on Thursday, I'll be checking in :) searching for motivation, thanks to everyone for being motivation!

So great that you went to the gym and worked so hard Flo! What a great inspiration for all of us.

I love reading everyone's comments. Right now I'm feeling a bit "pudgy" too, but hopefully it won't show up on the scale because it was all from healthy homemade minestrone, and I kept my calories to 1315 today.

Laura
Hey ladies, hope everyones doing well. I'm doing naughty, I've been out celebrating the end of university the last few nights and on the way home ive had a cheeseburger and chips (Oh they were soooooo good). Anyway tonight is probably the last time i'll be hitting the town until I go to a ball next week so hopefully I won't have done too much damage. Am going to avoid the scales til monday I think, normally i'm on them every day! You guys sound like you resist temptation way better than me!
THURSDAY JUNE 21ST
Morning all,

Just wanted to get the thread going for today.

I'm so happy about everyone doing so well.

Buffles, don't worry, you'll hop right back on!  You can do it!  I haven't resisted temptation as well as I have been recently in a LONG time!

Jess, hope you get through all those exams soon enough :)

Laura, good job on yor eating!  I felt the same way yesterday, but the morning always helps to get rid of the feelng.

Wishing you all a good skinny day!

I'm headed to the gym in a few.  Wish me luck!  I'm doing 3 miles again, but this time it will be in intervals, trying to do each one fairly fast.  GO AWAY GUT!!!!  I want to get rid of my belly!!!!!!

Ann
Hi everyone!   I love the support with this group!  So I started my period on Tuesday and I totally felt like crap, but I was like..I'm gonna eat more so I have to go to the gym. (I normally go to the gym 6 days a week & I already skipped Sun cause of father's day-family was in town) Even though I was having slight cramps, I worked through it. I always find it satisfying when I push my self. But suprisingly I haven't felt like eating much at all, like I haven't been hungary when I think I should be hungary. But when I do eat randomly I make sure its a healthy choice and count my calories.

But I've been increasing my cardio and just doing toning lifiting with the weights. Cause normally I do weights and cardio every time I go to the gym.  And when I lift, I lift like a freakin body builder!(well not literally, but kinda) because I'm afraid I'll lose the muscle that I have if I don't. But the only way for me to tone up it to lose the fat first then build up the muscles.  And I learned that from this site. So that's what I got to do.

I'm excited cause tomorrow I'm going with the gymnastics team I help coach to a college clinic. It'll be fun doing gymnasitcs with the girls and coaching! But I don't have to go to my research job tomorrow! I definately need a break and I get to sleep in a little!
Have a good day everyone!
