Hi Everyone,
I got up this moring and weighed, gained a pound, but I think it is water weight from tooo much salt, yuk. I have walked briskly for an hour, then rode my bike (some hills even) for about 50 minutes. I had a nice breakfast of small baked potato and some chipotle pinto beans (more salt, darn).
Ann, well done to get out to the gym, hope your training goes well. Eat lots of fruits and veg everyone

Hi ladies,
Well today is going to be my first test day since I started counting calories on this website about 5 weeks ago - a going away party for a coworker. This is a dangerous territory for me. This is the first time I've had to negotiate someone else's cooking and temptations just laying there in front of me. Plus I know the hostess is a good cook and will have worked hard on the menu. My plan is to focus on the protein, small spoonfuls of any carb heavy offerings, and hope there is a vegetable. Or if the dessert looks really good, skip the carb dishes altogether and have a small dessert helping. I'm also thinking I'll have to have one beer to get through this (parties with my coworkers are usually not my favorite)! By thinking about what I plan to do and writing it here, my hope is that I'll up my odds of not having a binge! Good job Flo in getting a workout in, I plan to exercise hard tomorrow to feel like I'm back in the mode. So much of this is mental I think.
My paypal account is in fine working order (thanks to too much ebaying over the years!) and I can send in my registration money anytime. Sherry

Ann, I hope you did those three miles as you had planned! Intervals are so great to help with fat burning... plus, they take away some of the boredom of only walking or only running on a treadmill!

My body is sore today from my workout last night, but a GOOD sore, thankfully! If I've calculated everything correctly, I've only consumed 600 calories so far today, and it's already 3:15! Yes!
I have to go over to my boyfriend's house tonight because his aunt and uncle are visiting from Pennsylvania, and I'm supposed to meet and visit with them, so I don't know if I'll get a chance to go to the gym today, since I have two hours of work left. Drats!
Keep up the AWESOME work though, ladies. We can do this!!!!

Looks like everyone had a decent day. I did an hour on the elliptical machine. No weights. Hopefully I'll have time to stick around the gym tomorrow and hit the weights. Food intake was so so in quality but at the right calories. 1300.

Hello. I had one of the busiest days yet! It was non-stop for myself and the kids up until about 30 minutes ago we just got home and it's LATE! (late for kids that is!) It's 10:45 p.m. right now.
Arnold, good job on the calorie counting. Have fun on your gymnastics trip, sounds like it will be.

Pretty, it's Friday tomorrow! :) If you didn't get a workout in today that's okay, it sounds like your body needed to heal its sore muscles back together anyway. Yes, my intervals turned out rather well. I was pretty pleased with my time. I have to do them on the treadmill since I have my kids, I drop them off at the kids space while I workout. so, being that I'm on the treadmill, it's a little different pushing buttons for your pace, but it's good training. I ended up doing the first 2 miles at 8 minute mile pace, which felt pretty good. then the last mile in the 7:50's. I'm not really sure if I could have gone faster and maintained it for all 3 miles or not. It felt about right though. It would be fun though to be able to go to a track and see how fast I would naturally run it.

I went to the gym last night for only 30 minutes, but it's still 30 minutes of cardio nevertheless! Been eating super healthy yesterday and so far today... lots of fruits and veggies! Hoping to hit the gym for 45-60 minutes tonight... I'll figure it out once I get there!

Here, I'm doing ok, vacation gives me a lot of time to walk around, all this talk about biking has inspired me! I think I'm gonna go for a bike ride and steal my mom's bike for a bit :)

I did good at the party! Well, good and bad! Good in that I didn't take in tooo many calories. And bad in that I drank most of my calories! I had 3 beers, which is a lot for me as I rarely drink except at family reunions - haha. It was fun though! I ended up the day at about 1550 calories, but I had to estimate the calories and for example try to remember how big that hunk of chicken was. I ate a small chicken breast portion, about 1/2 cup of chicken salad, about 3/4 cup pasta, a slice of mozz cheese, and about 5 sun chips. Proud of myself for not having store bought apple pie and ice cream (easy to resist pie made at the grocery store!). Proud of myself for skipping a hamburger and the big buns!

Ha, I'm in a wonderful mood since my bike ride, I haven't been on a bike in at least a year (a real one I mean, stationary bikes not included), and it was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who kept posting about biking, it inspired me to get out and try something new (or rather almost forgotten, I forgot how much fun it could be!) I'm about to go cook dinner (a healthy one, yay!) Hope everyone has a great dinner, and an awesome Friday night!

It sounds like you all are doing really well. Isn't it great?! I haven't felt this healthy in a LONG time. It's been almost 3 weeks for me that I have started counting my calories. I must say the sense of accomplishment that comes from this type of healthy living has a positive affect on everything and everyone around me! I'm really loving it. I'm really hoping that this time around I can really make it a way of life. I haven't weighed 115 (that's my goal weight) since highschool. the lowest I've weighed since highschool was around 123 and I felt great there. I just can't wait to see where my body will healthily allow my weight to go! Today was my off day for exercise. I took the kids to the pool and met their cousins there and my brother and sister. Fun day. Oh, by the way I'm very proud of myself because we went out to a burger joint after the pool with everyone. They didn't have anything healthy on the menu, it was a very basic local burger restaurant. I didn't succumb to eating anything bad! I was a bit hungry too. My sister ordered a big thing of fries for everyone to snack on and I didn't eat one of them! I just kept myself busy with the kids so it didn't seem obvious that I wasn't really eating, I hate to make anyone feel badly if I don't eat in those settings. Okay, well I've rambled enough:)
Oh tomorrow I wake up early to do a 9-10 mile jog. It should be fun. I love the feeling I have when I complete my workouts, it's such a great feeling!

Morning All! Hope your Saturday's treat you well. I love reading about all the bike riding, it sounds so enjoyable. I plan to buy myself a bike in a few months when I complete my marathon, thanks to reading your guys posts it's made me really want a bike.
I was able to have a very nice run this morning! I did about 9 miles. It was soo beautiful outside. I was up early before many people were out and I ran around this lake that just looked beautiful. There was some fog covering just above the water on the lake, and it just added to the nice scenery.

SO, this morning, I stepped on the scale (I weigh myself daily for motivation), and I'm BACK IN THE 120's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AH!!! I'm so happy. I actually screamed out loud for like two minutes this morning! Haha... Just goes to show you that it's possible to get back on track after four bad days in a row!
AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I'm elated. =) I haven't been in the 120's since my whole thyroid thing started.
