Welcome any new comers that would like to join in our threads!
DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!!!!!!!
Stick with the calorie counting, it will all be worth it in the end!!! Let's be healthy together!!
I'm up for an exercise challenge too!
Today or yesterday has not been a great start to the weekend, I got my P and just went crazy with chocolate! My stomach is so bloated I look like I'm 9mths pregnant. I feel fat, look fat and feel unfit. Haven't even been to the gym or gone for a run since Wednesday. I hate this time of the month!!! So guess will not be weighing myself on Monday, always heavier at this time. Around this time I always wear my 'fat' clothes because my normal clothes always feel tight.
Hey guys! I think a water challenge would be a GREAT idea! I used to get down almost 100 oz a day and now barely hit 50. Thats still good but not good enough by my normal standards. An exercise challenge woudl be great but I probably wouldn't do much more than I already am (3 days a week, approx 45 min a day). I just don't have time for more than that.
I'm having a rough time today. I had Jimmy Johns for lunch, which isn't too bad except the sodium is REALLY high. But then went to the movies and ended up eating a lot of popcorn. Oops. I'm still not over but thats with me guessing at how many calories are in the popcorn.
BUT I made it to the grocery store so I can eat some healthy food now!!! :)
have a good Sunday, stay strong!!
Ann
have a good day all!

121.2 as of 6:00 am. I'll definitely take that. This was a great week. Fiber, water, exercise and calories...everything went as planned. So down a pound from last week, which is pretty much what I am supposed to expect.
Life is good, happy day everyone!
Ashley
Not sure on how to do a water challenge. I don't know that I'd want a challenge to see who can drink the most water. We might end up with that water intoxication thing. lol.
There must be a better way to do it. Perhaps everyone can set their own daily water goal and their own daily exercise goal. Then report once a week if they followed through with whatever their goal was and for how many days that week they met their goal.
I weighed 111.5 this morning so the maintaining thing is going pretty well. Still drinking my water, and still logging in food and exercise. I've been doing Slimming Minis for the last two months so will be continuing with that. We use a point system, 2 pts. for every 8 oz. water and 3 pts. for every 15 minutes of exercise, to be reported daily.
Keep up the good work everyone!
I didn't weigh myself today because of my P, I always gain about 5 -6lbs around this time and seeing this on the scale will probably depress me even though I know it's not real weight gain.
I did about 1 hour 10 mins of cardio today, consumed about 1800kcals and drunk about 2litres of squash, will try to drink at least 200mls of water on its own tomorrow!!!
Good night all
Good evening ladies. My computer officially died on me today so until I get a new one (hopefully in a day or two because I desperately need one to be doing my lesson planning and keeping in touch with my student teaching supervisor) I'll have to use the university computers and its SUCH an inconvenience. So if you don't see me for awhile, thats why. Hope to have this problem worked out by Wedneday. *fingers crossed* What terrible timing...right after paying $1,000 to fix my car!
As for weigh in...I was at 135 this morning. Up a pound from last week. Probably a result of my weekend. Ugh. But I am going back to the gym this week after having several days off so hopefully that will jump start some weight loss!!
I am going to try and get more water. I've only managed to get down about 60oz today. Does water drunk in the form of tea count as water??
For a water challenge we could report either daily or weekly how much water we drank (daily might be hard unless everyone logs on daliy) and at the end of the week see who has had the most? Not sure how I like the idea but its a suggestion..
Sorry, had a bad reaction to chemo yesterday - couldnt' weigh in. This morning I weighed in at 127; .5 lbs from last week.
figurethefat, Thanks so much for your response to my "venting" post. It really helped.
Good luck, everyone!
Wanda
Wanda whats "venting" post about?
Madhu
Madhul, I was just having a bad couple of days last week; issues with my chemotherapy coupled with the mood and behavioral swings just had me really "off" and I logged a venting journal. I'm still in a 'funk', but slowly coming out of it.

Hi All, I am new here and also trying to lose some weight (10 pounds). In the past I've been successful at losing weight (after 2 kids), lately nothing seem to work anymore :( I've been doing low carb for a few years and now counting calories. I've put on 10 pounds 2 years ago for no apparent reason (stress, age... I've turned over to 30th...) and no matter what I do since then the weight won't come off. I exercise a lot (6 times a week) and I try to eat around 1200 calories (with some exceptions), and I've heard that it might be too little, so I tried eating more - put on even more weight right away. I tried drinking more water and green tea - no effect, I tried exercising more and doing different stuff - nothing... So I don't know what to do... I mean I look ok, just did my body fat and it's only 23% I have flat abs but I just hate my heavy lower body and wish it was slimmer (I know it's the most difficult fat to lose), even 5 pounds would make me happier but scale has been very stubborn for the past few months. Even if I lose 2-3 pounds - after few days it tends to come back. Any ideas? Thanks.
Also, how much water should we drink? 8 glasses don't work for me, maybe try a gallon?
Welcome to juliya--just curious, how much do you weigh? And I drink about 3 litres a day which I think is about 100 oz.
5000thangel--sorry about your computer. Our wireless router bit the dust last week, but it was under warranty so we got a replacement. This week my kid's computer is on the blink, but no warranty there, so not sure what to do :(
I'm not very motiviational these days, sorry. Just ticking along maintaining. Still counting everything. I have to eat alot these days about 1,600 or 1,700 calories and sometimes it's hard at the end of the day. I do best when I have at least 1,000 calories in for the day before dinner. Otherwise I feel too stuffed in the evening.
Today I had so much sodium. Bread has so much sodium, veggie cheese, laughing cow, veggie turkey, veggie hot dog, all have so much sodium. I logged in a Laughing Cow Light for a snack and forgot to put it in my lunch bag. Just as well I didn't need that extra sodium.
I shoot for about 1 mg per calorie consumed, so that's about 1,700 a day. Today I was 2,500 mg!! Hope everyone is doing well with their eating and getting plenty of protein and fiber.
Keep drinking the water ladies!! Even though it's cooling off. You can have hot water with lemon if it's chilly out...
thanks, figurethefat.
Even with everything going on, I've been able to not gain weight. I've had plenty of water and very few snacks. I'll start back on my workouts as soon as the docs and my husband give the okay. Thanks again and good luck everyone!
Wanda
hey everyone! I've got myself a new working computer. Yay!!
I had to skip the gym for it, but I plan on going Tomorrow and again on Saturday. Tonight I have a massage scheduled (I work at a massage clinic so I get employee discounts). I desperately need it!! Yay!!
And all week I've been able to keep in my calorie range!
Lately I've been noticing that I eat around twice as many protein grams as fat grams, which makes the protein and fat percentages about equal. I eat carbs, healthy ones! You might want to try some fine-tuning on your daily eating and see what happens.
