Well, I've been told by my doctor that being on certain medications (like antibiotics and some BC pills) can increase the chances of getting a yeast infection, as well as not keeping the area dry, and douching.  I've even reay that diet really affects it as well - too much sugar will alter the balance of helpful bacteria in that area which normally prevents yeast growth.

The last time I had a yeast infection my OB just gave me antibiotics for it, but it did help when I reduced my sugar intake.

i dont know i think im in an different situation i eliminated all suger from my diet but i can say this i havent had yogurt in two months i think maybe it might be that but i also do sweat alot down there when i workout so i dont know. i am taking azo right now to clear it up but i just dont think its a great idea to workout untill its gone Frown

I would think that working out as long as you're careful to change your underwear or sports shorts frequently would be fine.

so you think i should still work out. i dont know it would be annoying on the treadmill having to get on and off just to change i think i will just play my wii fit instead. i dont sweat as much on that as i do on the treadmill. but im really uncomfortable.

I didn't think of that.  Maybe just do more of an arm workout?  You'll definitely sweat head to toe no matter what you do in this weather but as long as you don't spread the infection or further irritate the tissues I think it should be fine.  Do you have any medicated topical creams for it?  Maybe putting it on before your work out and then again after your workout would be helpful?  I don't think that I could take more than a few days without workouts so I would go nuts one way or the other.

You sure its a yeast infection and not a UTI? Urinary tract infections can be caused by bacteria getting up in there after a workout. And I'm pretty sure AZO is made for UTIs, not yeast.

Make sure to drink plenty of water, and keep taking your AZO. After your work out, try to go to the bathroom (even if its just a little) to keep you clean. If you don't feel comfortable working out, I wouldn't. Try not to get anymore bacteria up in there :)

Does it feel like you constantly need to urinate? Or is it itchy? That will tell us the difference.

Things like this happen to me ALL the time. I'm like the UTI queen :)

the Azo brand has started to make a new product for yeast infections, but the product that I see more often in drug stores is the pain reliever for UTIs. It does nothing to cure them, it just numbs your urinary tract until you can get to the doctor for an actual test and a prescription.

As for yeast infections, I've gotten them at random times, but mostly when I've been very stressed out, and once after switching detergents - Tide is a beast.
I get 'em too. I use panty liners until I'm done the high-intensity part of my workout. It's less of an interruption to run to the washroom than it is to change shorts/undies halfway through a workout.

If external itching is a problem, try using a cotton swab to put diluted tea tree oil on the irritated skin. It works really well.

i know its not a uti because i drink tons of water and drink cranbarry pills everyday i do itch a ton and im taking azo yeast its new they do also have for uti i still havnt worked out soooo im sad but i know it takes time to clear so i will wait.
