Ladies over 30 looking to help each other
Hi everyone! I am new to CC and have made the New Year's Resolution to lose weight!
I am a 37 year old female, 5'5" at 179! I am the mother of two teenagers, 16 and 14. I work full time, go to college and spend most of my time going to my kids sporting events.
I have made every excuse in te world for not losing weight, and I am done!!! I want to lose 44 lbs and get down to a healthy 135! I am not trying to drop this weight over night, but over the next year.
I am looking for other ladies over 30 that would like to support each other in meeting their goals in 2008!!
Please let me know!!!
Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a good holiday and is bracing themselves for the upcoming ones. :) Sorry I didn't post yesterday (weigh in day) but I have had the stomach flu and then my son had it so it's not been fun around here. Thanksgiving went good though - we had a nice break between Beau being sick and then me getting sick. Just long enough to eat WAY too much. So, needless to say I gained some weight and then of course managed to lose some of it back (never thought I'd be happy I got the stomach flu). I am finally starting to feel better today but I am having a hard time talking myself into doing my workout. I think it must be the cold weather. It always makes me want to curl up and watch it snow. :) Hopefully I will talk myself into it though. :) Well, enough stalling - here goes:
Last week: 215.8
This week: 217.8
Gain: 2 :(
Not too bad for Thanksgiving I guess but still kind of mad at myself for letting go on T-day. Oh well, back to it, right?
I hope everyone is doing good. Keep up the good work!
Christie
Hope you keep getting better Christie. Maybe when you get your strength back it will be easier to work out. You will lose that weight, darn holidays. Today is weigh in day here goes.
Last week 195.4
This week 192.2
Total loss 3.2!! :)
Hope all is well with everyone out there.
I am so happy!!! I know it is not weigh in day but I got below 190 to 189.8!!!!
Can't stay long - have to go get my son - but wanted to say way to go Jasmine! That IS exciting! Keep up the good work!
Christie
Thanks Christie. I was just thinking I bet some of the people will be back soon after the Holidays.
Hi everyone! It's weigh in day so here goes:
Last week: 217.8
This Week: 215.8
Loss: 2lbs
I didn't do anything to deserve losing two pounds, but I lucked out and here it is. I thought it might be because I lost muscle and gained fat but my BF percentage went down too. However it worked out, I will take it. I have to get up and get moving again. I have been struggling with the weather being so cold - it makes me want to stay in an hibernate. Also, my daughter broke her finger and now on top of going to the school three times a day we have physical therapy appointments to add to the mix. But, I am hoping once I get moving I will be able to get back my momentum. I hope everyone is doing good. :) Keep up the good work!
Christie
GREAT JOB Christie!!!!!!!!!!
Hope your daughter feels better soon. Having a finger messed up can really cause issues. Went and did my laps in the pool today. Now i have to finish Christmas cards. Take Care
Weigh in day here
Last week 192.2
This week 189.5
total loss 2.7 lbs!!
I just hope I can maintain the next couple of weeks. Tis the season to have a difficult time. All the get togethers with all the food that is full of calories. I know I will have some days where I eat no nos just have to try not to go over the deep end. Going to work out now, must burn fat.
Jasmine
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing good! Good here - I think that with the exception of being so busy with the holidays I am getting back on track so I feel good. It may not be reflecting on the scale but I just feel better and I have been working out and watching my calories so that must mean something right? Well, today is weigh in day so here goes...
Last week 215.8
This week: 215.6
Loss: 0.2lbs (not much but I will take it - plus my body fat went down a bit and muscle went up so at least it's all moving in the right direction. :) ).
Jasmine - Way to go! Good work!
Keep up the good work!
Christie
You beat me this week Christie. No loss here but no gain either. Been sick this week but starting to feel better. This weekend will be tough. Time to start baking Christmas cookies. So between now and Jan 2 I will watch my cals but will enjoy some of the goodies too. This may cause weight gain but hopefully not much.
Jasmine
Hi everyone! I just wanted to say Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to everybody in case I don'tget a chance to get online tomorrow. I'd weigh in too but I am hoping I wear off those weekend cookies by tomorrow. :) I ran 6mi yesterday which is my farthest run so I was excited about that and I worked out today for an hour so hopefully it works. :) I have to get going to do more baking. :( Keep up the good work everybody!
Christie
The holidays did me in back up to 196. Been sick here and went to the Dr. lots of allergies out of control. Have to encase my bed and got new meds so hopefully I will get well soon.
Hi everyone! I hope everybody is doing good. Sorry, I have been M.I.A.. The holidays were busy and time just flew by. So did the calories unfortunately. But, the kids started back to school this week and I am hoping that will get me back on track. Yesterday was my weigh in day so here goes:
Week before last: 215.6
This week: 216.8
Gain: 1.2 (darn it)
I ate way too many bad things and it caught up with me. So, I will just have to work harder to get it back off. My hubby comes home next week and I am hoping that he will want to get up and go too so I am not tempted to hang out on the couch with him. We'll see. Wish me luck.
Jasmine: Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. I know you'll be back to it in no time. Hope you are better soon!
Christie
Christie it is that time of year to start working hard at weight loss. Seems like such hard work.
Well at 197 now:( Going out to eat tonight the a DQ cake at my Mom's for my B Day today. Will go back to working hard Tommorow now that my health is better. Good luck to all.
Hello, I am hoping that it is not to late to jump in here. I'm Lisa and i am 43 yrs. old and here are my stats
Starting weight was 226 (started in November )
Current weight as of today 210 (jan. 12 2009)
Goal weight is 175
I am almost 6' tall as well.
I have lost some weight over the past three years, but just starting counting my calories in December. I feel great and am learning to eat healthier. I use to drink about 8 cokes a day, ( i was truley addicted) I weened myself off slowly and got past the headaches, so i am happy to say i have not had a coke in about three months and i dont miss it! I work full time in a factory so i am on my feet all day and lifting heavy things as well. I do belong to a gym, but i procrastinate over going alot.
I have an excercise ball at home so on the days i miss going to the gym, I pull out my excercise ball and find a workout on youtube.
You all are doing great, and together we can do this one pound at a time!
Welcome Lisa!!
I drink coke zero when I want a coke it is not too bad. I try to go to the gym but have not been there lately had allergy problems and needed to get things back on track with the Dr. now that I can breath I plan on going back soon.
Hi everyone! Is anyone still out there? Sorry I have been gone so long. My hubby came home and I have been trying to start up a business and I have been so busy. I really do need to figure out a way to get back to what I was doing before because I am way off track. I weighed myself this morning and I was back up to 223! I am so mad at myself for letting myself get back that high. I have been very sporatic about exercising and my eating habits have been horrible. So I am back for good hopefully this time. I really want to get the rest of this weight off. I used to feel comfortable in my clothes and fit and healthy and now I am back to feeling my roll hang over my jeans (ugh!) and I am worried if this keeps up I will have to go back up a size! That would really stink. So, here goes. Back to it. Hopefully with the weather getting warmer I will be more motivated. Wish me luck. :) Hope everyone is doing good.
Lisa: I am a recovering Coca Cola addict and I drink/love Pepsi One and now I don't even like the taste of Coke (I know - it's hard to imagine not liking it anymore). Welcome!
Jasmine: Good to hear you are feeling better.
Ok ladies, I am back after...... let's just say it's been too long.
I originally started this and fell off the radar. So Sorry!!!
Updates: And not all good.
1. I stopped exercising and eating well and have 15 more pounds to show for it. (Bad news)
2. I got divorced. (Good news)
3. My daughter tore her ACL (Bad news)
4. I have a new boyfriend (GREAT NEWS!!)
I am hoping that this chain gets moving again. I see alot of people have joined and hoping some of the originals are still here. I have updated my journal and have made several lifestyle changes.
THERE IS NO DIETING!!!!!!! Only eating healthy and exercising more!!
I have limited my calories to 1400 a day and for the last 4 days have accomplished that. I purchased the Firm WAVE and love it!! For those ladies who don't have a lot of time to exercise ( like me) it is a great asset!! 30 minutes and you work the whole body plus cardio! It's fun too!!!
Starting weight was 188.8
Current weight is 184.4
Goal weight is 135.
Keep talking ladies!!
Back again. Back up to 196.4:( I have been feeling so sick they have me on lots of meds for my allergies and now I am getting shots. It is hard to work out or think about eating right when you feel like crap.
Welcome back Hatcher! Hope your daughter gets well soon.
Cmiller Is your hubby staying state side now? I know what you mean about the rolls I had to go back up to my big girl attire:(
I think to succeed we need to keep counting & check in daily or every other day to keep on track. We all fall apart when we don't. So lets go ladies!!
Hey Jasmine!
My daughter is doing well. Thanks! She had surgery in OCT and is still in therapy. She plays volleyball and she tore her ACL. Well when they did the MRI they found out she had NO ACL!!!! So she had to have a graph from her hamstring which is taking her longer to heal.
The good thing is that she is exercising with me so it keeps me motivated!
I know it's hard to stay focused and get motivated but you can do it!!
Lost 5.4lbs so far!!!
Yeah!!
