Any lady motorcycle riders out there?

Quote  |  Reply

I posted this in another forum and it was suggested that I post here.  Hubby and I ride a Goldwing - been 19,500mi in the past year.  We ride everywhere! Went to Key West in June (from north TX).  Anyone else out there?

Wow! impressive! i ride a 750 Shadow ACE. Haven't been far. I live in NorCal--just down the coast!

I must confess I'm a wanna-be rider. Would love to get my license and a bike, but I live in Atlantic Canada, and would only be able to ride maybe 6 months of the year. Pair that with having 3 small kids, I guess I'll be a minivan mom until they get older!

yep.  don't have a bike right now, but my biggest trip was 11,000kms through ten western states on my V45 magna.  planning to get a bike in the next year or so (though i probably ought to pay off my grad-school debts first).

have already started planning a trip for the summer of 2010, with a friend who also rides an ACE, dame ;)

Yes, hubby and I both have Harley's, FXR Shovelhead, and FXR V-Twin.

Honestly I don't know which I prefer, riding my own, blazing trails once unheard of by women, or wrapping my body around my mates as he tools me to places unknown to me.

It's all pretty darn good.

I ride dirtbikes, but not street. I have ridden with my boyfriend on his dad's Harley, and he's always trying to get me to ride with him on his Kawasaki ZX10 streetbike, but I haven't yet.....not that I don't trust him, I just don't trust the other crazy California drivers out there!! I think I'll stick to the dirt! :)

i hate being a passenger.  i used to love it, before i started riding myself, but now - yuck.  if i'm not in control, i don't want to be on a bike.

PG sometimes I feel the same way....other times I have things in mind I want no control over.

bagga...was that dirty?

i think maybe this is my next bike.  anyone else fantasizing?

Dirty, no, not dirty.

Motorcycles are sensual, not dirty.

Just look at the evocative beauty in the link you posted.

Yes.

Lady rider here!!  Yamaha V-Star 1300.  This is my second bike.  My first was the V-Star 1100.  Don't ride as much now as I used to, but thats because I live on a tropical island with crazy people.  They try to kill me in my CAR, much less the bike.  Just awaiting the day when I can go back to the land of long roads!!  They are saying Europe now... I can SOOOOO see riding the Alps on my bike!

Pg...  I heartily approve of that bike!  Of course, I'm sorta prejudiced towards V-Stars... but they make an excellent and very comfortable machine.

Glamgram...  Do you actually ride your own or are you a passenger?  Can't quite tell from the way you wrote your intro.

i wondered when you'd make an appearance, pilot!

I admire any woman that can handle her own bike!  My best friend just got her license.  But I love the feel of my man handling the bike and me wrapped around him...and we can communicate via our headsets.

I don't ride street bikes or anything, but I love riding my dirt bike. I'm not old enough to actually drive on the road, but maybe someday. My 3 cousins live next door all female and we all enjoy riding the trails together. We've been riding dirt bikes and go karts since we were young. It's definitely a fun hobby! Keep it up ladies =]]

Wifeypoop drives our 750 yamaha virago.

It is a PIECE OF CRAP.

I do like my father's Victory Kingpin though!

i have been in love with riding sense i bought my first 2003 xl1200 classic. i went shopping with my ex. he was buying a bike and said i would be riding on the back. i sat on this beauty and said, "how much" then "i'll take her" many after parts and lots of chrome later, she is quite the beauty. a few years ago i bought a xr200 honda dirt bike.

now, when you include jeff's DRZ450, alexs honda 600CBR and all the dirt bikes, we have a total of 8 bikes!

we do get a lot more rain out here than i prefer but the drivers are pretty curtious. and it is so pretty on those back roads! just keep your eye on my rainier and you never lose your way. there is always a nice little burger joint just waiting for you to stop by!

happy riding!

It took me a moment... I'm off time with everyone else.  But I "heard" motorcycle... and here I am!!  Please to see you're considering a Star for your next ride, they are great machines!  Hubby is actually considering selling his Harley and replacing it with a Yamaha Stratoliner!  Smart man!

Just as an aside... from a slightly nitpicky motorcycle rider... a Lady Rider is just that... the driver.  Not saying passengers don't count, spent many hours there myself, but you might find some who would have problems with you calling yourself a "rider".

I, on the other hand, welcome and embrace EVERYONE who had enough sense to know that motorcycles are the best thing EVER!!

Hi ladie riders, and  my vstar friend.  I just sold my bike acouple months ago, I had a Vstar 1100. I loved it and nicknamed it capt. jack. I broke my leg last year and can't ride now so had to settle for a mustang 5 speed manual. We do have 3 Harley's in the basement right now. A touring bike, a heritage08, and a soft tail so if I get back in shape I have one I can ride. I've seen lot of lady riders recently. My friend has a shadow.  I miss riding.
Lady rider here!  But we own a crotch rocket Honda CBR 6000 so no distance there!  I can make it about two hours one way before I can't sit like that anymore!

Eventually we'll get a gold wing or similar but we're only 25 and can barely afford our house right now so our moto dreams will have to wait!!

I love driving it though!!  I ride by myself (I don't have a passenger) so it's just me and to road and the stuff whipping by my head, it's awsome!!!

I ride behind my hubby - just love it!  That Goldwing is made for comfort and we ride it almost exclusively - weather permitting - to work, church, touring, you name it.   First time we rode to church in our leathers it was a real change for me - the "hat lady" -known for my dressy hats.  Now I'm comfortable and we are rather like celebrities.  It's a kick.

My bike is an ooooold Honda Nighthawk.  But I like it, and would prefer to ride any day it's warm enough to keep from freezing my toes and fingers off.
I used to work at our church - there were a few really shocked looks the first day I rode in to work and of course parked right by the front door :P
