Got Land Lines?
I'm just curious as to how many of you still own a working land line at home? I haven't had one for over seven years....
I still have 2.
Edit: I used to have 3.
yes, but its for the fax machine and i have no idea what the number is!
I still have a landline and I have never owned a cel phone. Email me if you need to contact me, when I leave home I don't want to be called. :P
I don't even like talking on the phone in the first place. :O
frok-I'm with you-I write much better than I speak sometimes!
And I use the copier on the printer which works just as well as a fax machine...but I hardly use it..
We have a landline in our apartment that works out to about 30/month. We have it as our primary phone, and I'm the only one of my two other roommates that has a cell so its worth it. Plus its a way to have a free voicemail when applying for jobs and stuff. If my roommates both got cells and wanted to drop it that'd be okay, except I would need to get unlimited minutes and voicemail on my phone which would end up being more than my share of the home phone anyways.
I do. Not a fan of cell phones.
Nope, I don't have a land line, neither do my parents! Very unnecesarry if you already have cell phones. I've never heard of having to pay extra to get voicemail on a cell phone... that's just strange!
no landline for over 4 years. My cell is all I need. I'm not a fan of talking on the phone, but the cell is good for keeping in touch with family.
Have to have a land line at home; we're too far out in the middle of nowhere for cell reception. When I'm in town, my work keeps me leashed with a blackberry (to which I give a big raspberry pffft!)
I have a land line. It is rarely if ever used. Mostly telemarketers and I'm even on the don't-call list.
I keep it because a few people rarely call me any other way -- such as my mom. She is always afraid to call my cell phone because I might be driving or something.
I also keep it because I have a house alarm and it is used for that...
we have a landline - but mosty because we cant get cell service in the house unless we are near the windows. Poopy deal really as our land line is crackly too!
I have a landline. It is cheaper than a cell plan, since we have to have internet.
We haven't had a cell phone for 5 or 6 years. Haven't had cable in 12 years - usually don't even watch the air channels - we get movies from the library for the most part, or watch free ones on the internet (yes, we are both geeks).
need the land line for the fax and alarm system. As soon as we figure out a way, it is GOING, GOING, GONE!!
i havent had one for at least 4 years!!!
nope, not for about four years.
Yes, but I'm still a throw-back who doesn't have a cell phone yet. (I just don't like telephones so have no desire whatsoever to carry one around with me all the time.) No doubt, I'll eventually switch from landline to cellphone but I still won't keep it turned on unless using it or expecting an important call.
I also noticed that my phone company stopped calling me about their 'fabulous cell phone plans' when I pointed out to the sales rep that, if I were to take them up on that offer, I'd be canceling my landline. ![]()
I got one mainly cause of the package deal, cable/internet/phone 85 bucks. Oh yeah and I need it for work.
Nope.
Land line, no cell phone and stinky dial up- that's what we live with. We'll have the house paid off next year and things will be diffferent.
We still have a land line primarily because we are in a small town in a rural county and cell phone service can be iffy at times. I've had times where I have one bar at best no matter where I go in my house/yard. My daughter has a different carrier and she has the same issue, so it the locale rather than the carriers.
