Laser Therapy Really Works!

Quote  |  Reply

Hi my name is Sherri, i am still very new here to CC, but i saw this group and thought well since the reason I am here is because i quit smoking in the first place... hahaha

I smoked for 20 years, and believe me i was the addict of addicts... i couldn't go a day without a cigarette, numersous times i tried to quit gave up, frustrated annoyed... i would intentionally pick a fight with my husband in order to stress out him or myself to the point one of us could justify running to the store for a pack of stress relief.

I tried many things (gum, patches, zyban) in hopes of becoming smoke free. None worked.  A friend of my husbands and mine tried "laser therapy".  He was hardcore stress case chain smoking fool!  he quit.. i was like no way.. after a year still didn't smoke.. i was like no way... so i got to think well if he can do it maybe we can too.

Well when it comes to laser therapy the absolute first thing you need to do is change the attitude of "I don't really want to spend that much".  this is because its usually followed by... the infamous... "in case it doesn't work".

You have to do it! No other way to say it. This is why.

I was sceptical unsure and quite nervous walking into the clinic, what i did know was i wanted to quit.

When you light up a smoke, its because your body is craving (thuis the cravings) endorphins, which are released in our bodies when we have that smoke, when the endorphins run low we get ... yet another craving and yet again another cigarette.  So with a laser therapy it is almost exactly like acupuncture, just without needles.  various target points all over your face and body are "lasered".  what this does is create a "CONSTANT FLOW" of endorphins, allowing you the ease of NO PHYSICAL CRAVINGS!!!" The phycological is all you need to contend with, but its so much easier than it sounds, because those cravings are what drives your mind crazy in the frist place.  BIG TIP: get an elastic band put it on your wrist, and after the therapy everytime you think of smoking (not crave, cause you won't, but think about it) give it a good thwack!  After a couple days of that you'll begin to condition yourself into not thinkin about it... sounds dumb.. but I did it, and i was total freak of nature for my nicotine!  The clinic i went to also put me on a detox for 30 days.  The reason for this is because the constant flow of endorphins from the therapy only lasts for about 4-6 weeks, by detoxing your body while not having the cravings you can remove all the crap (or a significant amount of it) during that time from your body.  So by the time you finish 30 days of being smoke free, your laughing.

the hardest part for me on my first 2 days not smoking, was my "I have smoked for 20 years, what am I going to do now for the next 20?" The thought of smoking consumed me, yet I didn't want one, in fact the idea of having a smoke actually REPULSED" me.

Well let me tell you!  I can do so many things, like sports, running, excersise! Play with my kids!  I no longer have that feeling of being shunned by the non smokers, standing in the rain storms outside every hour (I live on the wet coast), and my GOD until you quit, you don't really grasp how bad it really really really smells!  And given that i am here on a weight loss site, I have to admit that the taste of food definately improved!  But I would gladly keep this extra 25 lbs of fat i have now, rather than continue the inevitable game of russian roullete, because one day all the dangers of smoking will catch up, and that triggers gonna be loaded. Now I can proudly say, i am a non smoker, and i haven't had nicotine in any way shape or form in 274 days (9 months).

YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

Hi Sherri,

Congratulations to you! I haven't been as long as a non smoker as you have but I too am a Nicotine Addict, and have tried everything under the sun to quit smoking, except for laser therapy. You made me laugh when you said how you would get under your husbands skin just to get a pack of cigarettes, I too have been there and done that, then I could say that "My Husband didnt even want me to quit". But its been 49 days and I look at someone smoking and think to myself " I do not want that crap in my lungs", never before had I ever thought that!

This time, I quit cold turkey, I was doing a 7 day detox and I swear that helped me, I do not think I could have gone cold turkey if I wasn't doing the detox. I wish I had thought of that sooner, I spent alot of money with Dr's, prescriptions, OTC drugs, Hypnotist, etc., you name it I have tried it all but the laser.

I happen to sell the 7 day detox but you can get it from any Arbonne Consultant, I am not here to promote Arbonne, but to promote a de-tox to help your body get away from the nicotine addiction.

Good Luck to you Sherri and too all the other "Quitters"

Liz
