The LAST 10 lbs?!?!

Quote  |  Reply

Just wondering if anyone has any tips/advice/words of wisdom for those LAST 10 lbs!?

I am 5'8 and 160lbs (down from 185 six years ago). 7 weeks ago I decided to get back on the bandwagon and go back to the gym (after nearly a year). I have been working out 3-4x weekly and toned up but have not seen a single pound shed from the scale!! What gives?!?! Anyone else ever experience this frustration??

I can't offer much advice, but I can assure you that I share the same frustration. The only difference is, I'm trying to lose about 5 pounds. It's driving me craaaaazyyy though! It seems like not matter what I do, I'm stuck at the same weight...

Me toooooooooo! Undecided

Oh well, at least it's good to know there are others out there who share the same frustration!!!! That is comfort in itself. . . . .

*sigh* Maybe ONE day it will just melt away?! lol.

If you are toning up, you are likely trading out fat for muscle, which is still a good thing.  You have not given any details, but it seems that you are already at a healthy weight for your height, so my advice is to pay more attention to how you look and feel and less attention to what the scale says.

Just my $0.02

I have been struggling with the last 8 for about one year now.  The next thing I am going to try is to keep my deficit smaller.  I am running about a 500-800 deficit most days because I exercise a lot.  No matter what my weekly deficit is, the weight stays on so I am going to try to up them for a while and then drop them drastically down again after a few weeks.  I don't know what else to try.  I have considered getting my thyroid tested but I really doubt that is it.  I don't have many of the other symptoms.  I think the last 10 is just impossible.  I am just so jealous of people that say " I hit my goal weight"  I would love to finally achieve that instead of being so close but oh so far.  Anyway you aren't alone.
