Hey I have a question.
for about a month or so I've been eating around 1900-2000 cals a day. I weigh about 108-110 now. I was 100 lb before. I'm 5'5" btw.
Anyways, I don't want to continue to gain on 2000 cals. can I push it it to 2500 with out gaining like 10 lbs in 2 weeks? Is it too late for my metabolism?
And btw is night eating ok? Cuz I've been eating around 8-9:00 b/c I get home late. Oh! and I do 4 hrs of dance a week.
PLZ HELP!
hey! you sound exactly like where i was (dance included!). i've been gaining since june, and never went above 2000, and i didn't want to gain on 2000 so a couple weeks ago i pushed up to 2300 and i didnt gain at all, and i've maintained on that since so it's definitely not too late for your metabolism! i know it's not 2500, but it's pretty close, and you're more active than i am (hey, i'll be taking more dance classes soon though ;) ). Considering you're dancing 4 hrs a week too, you will be fine, and you might even need more than 2500. just get up there, hang out there for a bit, and see what your weight does PLUS take note of how you're feeling too--- hunger levels? temperature--still feeling really cold? etc.
good luck and don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions :) take care love!
p.s. night eating is completely okay. eating after 7pm, 8pm, etc etc is a complete myth and if there is any truth at all to it, it's for people who are overweight and not active. if you're hungry, then you're hungry and you eat, and if you don't get a chance to eat until late at night, then so be it. your body will be fine :)
Well to get to a BMI of 20 you need to gain another 10 pounds, so I'm confused at
"Anyways, I don't want to continue to gain on 2000 cals. can I push it it to 2500 with out gaining like 10 lbs in 2 weeks? Is it too late for my metabolism?"
What is your goal? You SHOULD still be gaining anyway, no it won't happen in 2 weeks on 2500 but ultimately it needs to happen.
you can eat at any time that you like and it makes no difference. it might disrupt your sleep, but if you don't have problems with that then you're fine.
of course its not to late you shouldnt be on that amount anyway tro repair your body 2500 is advised minimal. the metabolism is a very clever thing . the best way to speed it up is to eat more initally you might gain a little more but it will catch up , you have to be brave and give it about i did and other than the first week my weight gain hasnt increased its actually slowed down you ll be supprised just how much you can eat. eating what you are eating your metabolism is still probably very slow . you can eat anytime you like obviously eating regularly is important for blood sugar and metabolism and hunger , and make sure you arnt restricting through the day and saving your calories for night . 4 hours of dance is alot usually it is best not to exercise in recovery your body need lots of rest . but this is another reason why you need to eat more h x
Yes, you can definitely push it to 250, and you definitely should! You might gain a little extra the first week, but you will not gain 10lbs in 2 weeks - that's physically impossible.
Night eating is totally fine. The reason diet tips tend to advise against it is to keep people from mindlessly snacking at night - i.e., eating an entire bag of potato chips in front of the tv. Eating a planned dinner or snack as part of your day is completely different, and not a problem in the least - almost everyone who is gaining weight needs to eat an evening snack, in order to spread their calories out & not eat an uncomfortable amount in one sitting.
Remember the extra calories are not just for gain but repair. It is never too late. You still have a ways to gain so I encourgae you to get to a better caloric point. Also since you are a dancer that increases your needs.
Chrissy... I think what she meant is that she wants to be able to eat more than 2,000 calories because hey, let's face it, if its time to gain, no one wants a drop ceiling they want a cathedral ceiling:-) I think anyway. I know how she feels, I gained on a low amount too and I'm still bitter at myself for it.
I think you should push it to 2500 and give your body a week to adjust - it will help with repair and your body will get used to it;-)
WOW thanks so much u guys!
I'm gonna be brave and shove this ED down the disposal and make it to 2500/a day! My wieght goal is to be 115. sound good? or should it be more?
115 is too low for 5'5" - that's a BMI of 19. It's generally recommended to aim for a BMI of at least 20, which would be 120 lbs.
How come I’m not losing weight?
Your workout routine is commendable but you are eating too many calories to lose weight. 1500-1700 calories a day is more like a maintenance... Read more
