Is it too late for me to slim down?

I'm 56 and overweight by about 40 lbs.  I want to know if it's possible for me to get in shape at this stage of my life.


Answer

It's never too late to get in shape!  And when you start to exercise and lose some weight, you will feel more energetic and naturally younger.  Start by keeping food logs with a goal of1200 calories a day and about 70 grams of protein. Expect to lose about ¾ pounds per week unless you becomes much more active.  If you haven’t exercised in years, you might start with Curves because they cater to out-of-shape women.  In addition, join the Calorie Count Group 50 Somethings.  With 12481 members your age trying to lose weight, you won’t be alone.
