laughing cow cheese?
Is there only the one swiss flavor or are there others? I am more of a cheddar girl.
I think they all have the same base, but there are garlic and herb ones and french onion ones. I don't really think any of them taste anything like swiss.
I don't believe so...
They do make 100 cal cheddar squares you can buy. I think both Kraft and weight watchers makes them. Just cut it up small and use that. I made an awesome ham and grilled cheese out of it with a little butter spray. (45 cal x2 bread, 30cal 1oz ham, 1 100 cal cheese, 20 cal butter = 240 calories) Delicious full of protein sandwich! Cow cheese isn't for everyone :) But you can still have your cheddar.
I LOVE laughing cow cheese, although I do agree, it doesn't really taste like swiss to me. I if you haven't tried it, you might want to even if you like cheddar better. It's not really sharpish like swiss and it's yummy and creamy. Makes a great snack on whole wheat crackers.
Yeah, laughing cow swiss doesn't actually taste like swiss. I can't even look at swiss cheese, but I think laughing cow is delicioussss.
It's more cream cheese tasting, in my opinion. I've only ever had the plain swiss light, though.
It's like tangy cream cheese. I use the french onion on my lunches almost every day. My world would be much bleaker without Laughing Cow.
Stupid question - I've seen this cheese mentioned on this forum all the time.. but where do you buy it? Is it in the regular cheese section at the grocery store? By the sliced cheese or by the special cheeses?
Seems to depend on the store. I've found it with the regular cheeses in Target, but at WalMart it's up near the deli. I didn't think they had it because it wasn't at the back of the store with the regular cheese.
In response to the OP, if you like cheddar, I found a Silk brand Cheddar Soy that is only 40 calories a slice. Not bad at all. It was in the produce section of WalMart -- with the salad stuff.
Laughing Cow makes little individual cheeses called Baby Bel in Cheddar. I love them. You can even put in your zip code to see what stores sell them - plus get a coupon: http://www.thelaughingcow.com/

Thanks - yep - got it at Walmart today at the front of the store by deli. YUM! very good stuff! I had one unwrapped before even leaving the store. I didn't realize the plain swiss one was 50 cals and the other flavor - onion was 35 cals. Either way - what a great snack.
To the OP - I only saw the swiss with flavors, but it definitely does not taste like swiss. Thanks for posting about this stuff - it gave me the opportunity to find out where the heck to get it!
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
