Hey, so i have lost 15lbs which im sooo glad about as feel a lot better in myself and the way i look.
But recently I havent been loosing lbs and have the past 2 week gained.
Not good lol. I dont actually do a workout as such, or go to the gym.

If i get the train/ bus to college then i have a 40 min walk there and then again on the way back. But this isnt everyday.

What do you recommend for someone who is kinda lazy when it comes to even thinking about exercise??

I do love yoga actually so would that count and how often would i need to do it?

You don't have to work out to lose weight, technically. You just have to eat less calories than you burn. Just try to be more active in your everyday life!

i'm lazy too!  LOL  walking is great!!!  do you watch tv?  get up during the commercials & stretch or something...  anything is better than nothing, and you really will feel better  :D

exercise actually gives you energy!

As of Nov. I have lost 26 lbs, but I didn't do it with actual workout.

I've started jogging every chance I get now, even if it's for 15 mins or so.

Why don't you just  decide to walk somewhere instead of driving?

Take advantage of any little thing that gets your body moving. And let me just say, 15-20 mins of jog/walking really helps.

Good for you in getting motivated. I don't like to 'Workout' either but I love to dance to any music that gets me moving. Turn the volumn up and just look at the clock when you start and when you stop.  If you can move your body for 30 minutes to your favorite music starting slow, speeding up, then ending slow you'll get exercise in your day and have a fun time in the process. This has worked for me for two months. Still losing.

Thanks for the advice!

Snowfence thats a really gd idea i shall try getting up n doing something when the ads are on then.
Congrats lvlyasusl and thats a good tip thanku.
Im loving the idea of dancing as i looove music and tend to want to get up n dance to it so thanku garbluv =)

Walking for commuting/errands is great.  How about hiking or walking outside for fun?  Are there any other commuting/errands that you could do on a bike?  A bike with baskets is great for errands.  A mountain bike or roadbike is great for exploring the area.  With these activities you're getting outside and being active, and it's not like going to the gym which can be a chore.

If you love yoga, that's great. Take classes or get DVDs in a more active style like vinyasa or power yoga. I'd recommend 3-4x per week if this is a central exercise for you. You could do yoga more often, with a program where you did different poses on different days and some harder and easier days.

If you love the mind-body aspect of yoga and also want even more vigorous exercise, you could go for martial arts.

All I did was walk for 5 weeks before doing any other type of exercise.  I walk quickly and started with this book, "walking off the weight".

You pick a level of fitness and start walking like 20 minutes (not including warm ups and cool downs).  Because it's according to your fitness, you actually get a cardio work out from walking fast.  You gradually increase your time (I'm up to 43 minutes of brisk walking).

I highly recommend a walking program.

I like to exercise while watching TV. They have mini TV screens on most of the machines at my gym.

You could either join a gym or simply find a workout you like and do it in your own home. Jogging in place is actually a good workout, or buy a small weight set. Don't forget to take breaks during commercials! ;)

I always told myself that all these people going to the gym were all a bunch of self obsessed weirdos with nothing better to do and I had no interest in working out to lose weight.  I was only going to watch wheat I ate to lose a few.  Man, that wasn't long ago and now I see what the draw is.   My wife kinda coerced me into joining a gym and now I can't really picture not going to the gym.  Weird change of pace for me but now I do 4is miles on the treadmill 4-5 nights a week and love it.

Clean your flat/house? Walking is easy, maybe offer to walk someone's dog for them, make it more fun?!

when you need the bus try walking to the next stop, or getting off a stop early . Walking is really good exercise and easy to do, if it helps try to get a friend or someone who will walk with you, maybe start with just 10-15 mins a  day, it's not much, but you'll soon feel the benefits. I got a stepper which i find great, you can watch your favourite tv and exercise in the comfort of your own home at the same time, so no need to feel self concious at a gym. any exercise is better than no exercise.Smile

I was searching for something else and ran across this website that I think is a good "start" for a beginner

http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/libra ry/activity/startexercise.htm

i LOVE pilates. it is a "lazy" sort of work out like yoga. it is a little less of the stretch and more slow, controlled movements. both use the "core" and breathing in their main concepts. windsor pilates is one of the better pilates videos in my opinion, that is, if you can stand the woman on the video! both yoga and pilates are really excellent for your body. they definitely do count as exercise!

Walking is just dandy exercise... get off your rear and go for a walk EVERY DAY, not just when you have to. (it's good to 'have' to walk somewhere because it makes sure you get in at least some regular exercise, but the more often you walk the better... I try to walk at least five days a week, preferably six.)

workout dvds. it must be a pscyhological thing, because of our natural instinct to mimic what other people are doing, instruction wise. it kind of taps into a lot of the pscyhology behind working out and wanting to get fit in the first place. if you have yourself mimicking the moves of someone on a dvd who looks great and is totally in shape, it;s easier to visualize yourself at that point and be motivated to do what they're doing. while it may not be true, necessarily, it does get you going!

Get a bike

I walk to work and back everyday (uphill in the morning, downhill in the evening) but I take a longer route to get home. I also take a 30 minute walk on lunch breaks, and it helps keep me awake during that 2pm lull. Once a week I walk to the grocery store and load up with as many groceries as I can carry and walk back. I always feel good after that. :) I have a pilates ball as well, so whenever I think of it I do some excersizes with that (they're surprisingly tough!). I find that when I listen to music I walk faster, so I always have my headphones in. Anywhere you can squeeze in some time for any kind of activity, really, would be good. Oh, and cleaning definitely works as well and as a plus you'll have a clean place!

Do you have a car?  If you do then this is a way to get some extra calories burned? If not maybe i can help some others.  When going to the store or  shopping whatever park far away from the store.  Rockstar parking is great but when one needs the exercise that is an easy way to burn up some calories.   The idea of getting off the bus at a previous stop and walking to the next one is great.  Walking is underrated sometimes.  Imagine the time spent driving around waiting for a closer parking spot, when you could have taken the spot aways back and been there quicker any way!  Hope you have accumulated some good ideas here...good luck!

I highly recommend music. While it won't get you started on your exercise, if you push yourself and actually get on the treadmill or grab the weights, music will keep you going.
