I know that 3500 calories equals a lb whether you are gaining or losing.
If you have lost a ton of weight and you did it by tons of exercising.
Why can you seem to eat endlessly and not gain weight but others trying to lose weight gain the weight by looking at food?
I have had four Vegas buffets in a day...last week I had two buffets in two days along with heavy eatin at all other meals........about 3800 calories in a day at times and not gaining weight...does a cranked up metabolism allow you to truly pig out after considerable weight loss?

I'm far from a doctor, but I believe 3500 calories does equal a pound no matter what. The thing is, it's 3500 NET calories OVER maintenance. So fiber, part of protein, etc, doesn't count, and someone with a fast metabolism has to eat more to get over their maintenance amount than someone with a slow or normal metabolism. Recovering anorexics use up a lot of calories to fix their bodies, so they have to really work hard to keep their calories above maintenance. Also there are some medical conditions which prevent some calories from being absorbed by the body, so that wouldn't count in the net calories. Does that make any sense?
It does make sense.....it helps....I have been to the Dr. and I have borderline anemia so I really need to crank it up the next few weeks to get weight back on..so odd to be able to pig out and not gain a ton of weight.
At least I eat clean 90% of the time so they are GOOD calories!
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
