Is the 10 lb CLUB READY??
hey everyone! I've been reading all these threads about those boys and girls who are struggling to lose their last 5-10 lbs and have realized they really ARE the hardest thing to drop! I'm right there with you. i'm 5'7 female, 136 right now and looking to get to 125-129. I think if we all were to be honest and communicate more, help each other out and encourage one another we could get through these last few lbs quicker and easier.

My goal is to reach 129 by May 31. That is 1.5 lbs a week. Throughout May I will up my calories and slowly lose more if I feel like I still want to get to 125.

Awesome! How tall are you?? We can totally do this, i need the help too. I HATE these last 10 lbs. I'm not weighing myself everyday liek i used to. I'm doing it every other day. tomorrow is my weigh in day.

I'd like to be at 135 by the end of June. I'm fluctuating around 139-141 right now. I'm 5'7" and it is not easy! I eat around 1300 cals/day and a little more on exercise days, maybe another 1-200 cals. On gym days (about 3 x's a week) I burn about 4-500 cals, and I try to jog/walk about 3 miles two days a week - not sure exact amount of cals burned there. I slip up when I go out with friends about once a week, but I am really trying to have more self-control there! Slowly but surely...
I thnk that its not a matter of how much,its how long...like ive been struggling with my last 5-8 pounds for months...we should talk...5-10 in 1-2 as in 5-10 pounds in 1-2 months...we should have weekly goals, like cals burnt, or veggie intake, a 45 min walk..etc, and then each post how we are going to treat ourselfs and when 1-2 months and do it...we should aslo post pics.....befores....yikes over here...but ill do it...more motivation?
i am in! i'm 5'8, 138 and would love to get to 128! my goal is by the end of august (going on a trip yay!) so i'm giving myself lots of time. what i really need to do is motivate myself to start running because i have a 5k that i've signed up for end of june, and am miserably out of running shape. i'm planning to go tonight, so if i don't post tomorrow about my run, please, give me a hard time :) i think right now my food intake has me steadily maintaining, so if i can just start the exercise the pounds should finally melt off!
Jules! good luck on your 5k! Tell me how it is! Where is the race you're running? I did a 5K in mammoth once, it would have been a lot easier for me if it were not uphill! Is yours uphill?

I think your goal is totally doable. I mean, if you eat your maintenance calorie intake and exercise, you will definately get to your goal. Might be a little slower than if you were to cut your calories, but you'll get there nontheless. My goal is around 128 also, and i'm 135 right now at 5'7. We're practically the same. I'm cutting my calories, i'm eating 1200-1300 because my goal is by the beginning of june or the first or second week into it. i'm eating this little because I do not have time right now to exercise. When i do , i eat more though.

I'd like to get in on your club too! I'm 5'7" and fluctuate between 135 and 140 lbs... like daily... not sure what's up with that! Maybe I eat too much salt. But anyway, I just started keeping track of what I'm eating and I started doing spinning and Pilates classes, so hopefully I can get down to about 130. 125 might be too light, we'll see. Goal is by the end of June, I think. I want to get a tattoo on my ribcage and I definitely want to be toned for that!

im 5ft9 and have lost 17lbs since 1st feb (loving it!) but for about 5 weeks now ive stopped losing anything.....grrrr.....
im eating 1300-1400 on lazy days and 1500-1600 on days i exercise. exercise is mainly workout dvds and just started running (literally last night to try and beat this plateau). thought id collapse after five mins cus i havent run since school (im 25 now), plus i smoke :o/ but did 20 mins! that was my aim so very pleased, will see about building it up over the next few weeks.

I'm getting Dimebag Darrell's guitar (a lot of folks aren't familiar with him - he was the guitarist for Pantera, and he was killed onstage in December 2004). Turns out I may be able to get a pretty high-profile artist to do the work, so I certainly would like to look good. :)
Clairebear - good job on starting running! I feel some of your pain because starting spinning was tortuous at first, but this type of vigorous exertion really did get easier - just try to stick with it.

it's in boston, and nope, luckily it's not uphill! i did it last year, trained a bunch before, and did pretty well (for me at least!) then after the race...well, lets just say i haven't run since! i don't really want to cut my cals any more than i already have. i don't keep a really close count, just trying to estimate and keep it around or under the 1500 range. what is also really killing me is going out on the weekends. oh beer, why do i love thee so much?
in august i'm going to block island, nothing too fancy, but i want to feel great on the beach for once!
i have a feeling i'll start getting more hungry too if i start working out, hopefully i'll be able to keep it under control!

Beer is a problem for me. I love it, and my close friends, who live across the street, drink a lot of beer every weekend, and encourage (not to say "pressure") me to drink along with them. I'll have to make myself be honest when I include it in my food logs... I'll probably have a wakeup call when I do put it in!
lately i've been trying to count the beer in, and avoid eating junk AFTER the beers. still...don't really want to give them up, so i don't think i'm gonna! that tattoo sounds cool! i'm not really a pantera fan, but that was so awful what happened to dimebag darrell :(
clairebear, i'm 25 too! i've gone running once since i decided i needed to start training for the 5k. i was dying after 5 min too. i'm going to try to run one song, walk one song for a 1/2 hour to get myself going with out killing myself haha.

i too have a weakness for beer. how do other people handle it... i mean do u just drink in moderation? cut the calories u eat in the day and save them up for night-time fun? or just class it as an occasional treat?

I fluctuate between 140-142 all the time and I really want to be down to 132 by July. I'm bridesmaid at my mothers wedding and I want to look perfect in my dress. :]
I'm 5'5 3/4 and I really need to be strict with everything now. I've had a bad week :/ I need to start jogging again in the morning, and I've got a job (I've been looking for work for months) so I will be able to afford some decent running shoes. And maybe a skipping rope and a new set of scales (mine are about twenty years old, I'm sure of it!).
Cals down to 1,300 basic, and all excercise I do I will add the cals on and drink more water. I never drink enough water.
As the for the beer part - I'll only really have a beer if I go out (very hard when I'm at my b/f and his is always in the fridge). When I do have and go out, I'll just make sure I eat enough before I go out, and have a couple of beers after (probably go to maintance). If I don't eat much and try and save the cals for the beer, I'll get drunk, then crave pizza or something afterwards. If I've had a nice dinner, I might go over a little on the cals, but I'm not scoffing that pizza down my face later on and adding an extra 400 cals or whatever it is.

Alright guys! I'm not a beer drinker so I dont have that problem! HOWEVER i do work at place where i am entitled to my own free pastries and junk whenever i'd like, so that does not help at ALL. TEMPTING...OH SO TEMPTING. Anyway, what I say is that you guys are young! You should be able to enjoy a few beers every once in a while.

That is such an awesome motivation to get these lbs off and keep them off! Once you get the tatoo you'll want it to stay looking as awesome as it did when you first got it. How much is this baby gonna cost???

I'm so excited that all of you seem to be right where i am at! I'm 134, trying to get to 125...5'7". So far i've lost 2 pounds in a week, so thats good! It wasnt coming off at all all week long, and then on Monday i was magically 134! Except I went to a mexican restaurant tonite, which is never good news...BUT i went to the gym and walked my dog. At least I am conscious of what i am eating instead of just eating whatever i feel like, like i was before! I'll keep ya posted with progress...good luck everyone!
