Awww, Blondie that sux! I would LOVELOVELOVE to work at a museum, too....that's probably also my ideal job! :)

My weekend was actually quite fabulous. Stuck to the plan and everything. I didn't get any running in, though, unfortunately....I worked an open-close at my Starbucks Sunday and I was running errands on Saturday (whcih is crazy hard with no car) on top of opening hte store....so....needless to say, my weekend had ZERO down time.

BY THE WAY: Starbucks is coming out with a newwwwww beverage tomorrow! It's called Vivanno nourishing blends. (they're kinda like a smoothie, they have milk / fruit juice / a fresh banana in each) There's a mango-orange-banana one and a banana-chocolate one. We learned all about them today at a meeting (also opened today = aghhhh). They are actually really really good for you! There's NO added sugar (except the banana chocolate one whcih has some mocha sauce, you can ask for fewer pumps if the extra sugar bothers you) and there's at least 16g of protein in each one. Only about 2g of fat, too! and, get this: a grande size for 250 CALORIES!!! WHATTTT?????

I'm drinking one right now. :) There's whey protein powder in it so it's actually a really filling snack.

It's gonna be my new drink in the morning! ahahaha, YES. Drinking the mango one right now.

And you give me yet another reason to be a starbucks junkie!!  LOL.  Those drinks do sound great, I may have to get one next time I am out.

So my weekend went pretty well.  I didn't get to the gym, but I walked about 4 miles on saturday with my son (in the stroller) and the dog.  I stayed under calories all weekend, SOOOO glad that I was able to resist temptation!  Only problem is that it has been so hot and humid that I am retaining water like crazy and I have drank so much water to counteract the effects that I feel like I am going to float away.

Still counting down the days until school starts back up, I am so ready but worried that I will fall right back into my bad eating habits and lack of exercise.  Hopefully not, I guess only time will tell.

hey chantees -- you did great this weekend, but even more looking toward the future, you CAN do it.   That was my biggest fear once I got the losing ball rolling last summer --- going back to work/school was a tough transition, but it is POSSIBLE.   make it is easy to be successful i.e. pack healthy lunches and snacks for yourself. have easy, healthy snack on hand with you at all times.  carry a water bottle and crystal light packets.  get enough sleep.  work the exercise in whenever it works best for you and the family.

IT CAN BE DONE!!!   I actually when my regular day eith all its acitivty returned AND I stuck to the good eating and working out and water drinking, the lbs fell off for a while.    something to look forward to!!

I am not a Starbucks junkie, but YUM!!!!

okay...so today I had one of those down days, not in the mood to do anything!  I  called in sick, stayed in my robe and ate all day, or so I thought!!!  When I added everything up, I ate 1575 calories, but I was eating all day.  I really think its because I don't have anything unhealthy in the house anymore and I really had no choice!  This was a huge eye opener so I got dressed, grabbed my son and the dog and went for a 2 hour walk down by the lake!  I now feel revived, only a little down...stupid ex boyfriend (remind me to tell you that story) and ready to start tomorrow with a fresh attitude!!!

yay for new days!   ( :

ex bfs suck!  but we rock!!!!!

Oliva77: Thank you for your encouragement!!  I am going to try to have will power of stone once I get back to school. Hopefully my new healthy habits will be just that habits and I won't think any different of it.  I am so waiting for that point where the weight just falls off, I know I am doing fine (so far) but there is that little nagging voice in the back of my head that keeps saying "Holy crap that's all I've lost!!!"  But in reality I have lost 11 pounds since June 6th so that's like 2.2 lbs per week.  Geeezzz I am such an immediate gratification type of person.  I know that if I can keep logging onto CC I will be able to do it.  BTW you too had a great weekend!

that's the right outlook to have for sure --- cause you can do it!  ( :

and DAMN, 2.2 lbs a week is kickass!   keep up the good work (what are you doing, btw?  wow!!!   )

I find the support and butt kicking I get at cc from my girls is a HUGE part of the reason it is working this time!
chantees, i've found that instead of waiting to instigate a new diet/exercise regime, it is better to just start it right off.

for real. last semester i kept saying to myself "over the summer, i'll have the willpower and lose tons of weight because i did last summer, so i'll just let myself eat this now, etc" except now here's summer and i've maybe lost 7lbs (instead of the 25 i was hoping for!). when i look back, it makes me really wish i would have just really tried to have more willpower, instead of pushing it off for later. i think later should always be now!
NOW is always better than never, janeiro!  I like that......

I think we all do that to some extent.  Wish I had learned that as a younger person......

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Keep up the great efforts ladies!

Unfortunately, I had one of those....what I keep hearing as 'binge days' yesterday.........

At work we had a lunch meeting for the Sales staff and we all went out to Boston Pizza....I had pizza.....when I probably should have chosen something more....healthy.... (When I got back to work  checked out the calories etc on the website.....1140 calories!! and that wasnt including the ranch dip I had...)

Later in the evening I had 2 pieces of pizza and then TWENTY WINGS!!!!! YES TWENTY!!!!!! lol.......oh my god... Seriously I was going so good and then BAAM!!!

I also never went to the gym......So are we suppose to just write those days of or what????

*sigh*

(Im eating raw carrots right now........lots of them lol ;) )

miss tinka -- while I suspect you already know the answer to this: "So are we suppose to just write those days off or what????"  I will answer from the heart anyway.....

NOOOOOO!!!!    do not write the day off.  instead file it away in your memory for a BEFORE day.   my BEFORE (eerrr, most of my life) was either undereating in an effort to lose or spent eating too much, complaining, never exercising or trying to change any of the above for better.  if I had a day where I felt like I overate, I just kept eating.  Reasoning being, F it.  I already messed up, so I might as well keep packing it in.  WHY?  So, you ate a lot.  So you didn;t go to the gym.

NEXT TIME -- if possible, work a splurge into your cals for the day, or make those surprise work lunch out days your maintenance day for the week.  Drink lots of water.  have a HUGE salad and then have pizza.  WHo says you have to go to the gym to get a workout in after a big lunch and/or dinner.   (go for a walk, get a fitness ball, do abs and pushups, whatever.)

TODAY--  keep doing what you are doing.  lots of carrots (and other healthy foods), lots of water to flush the sodium, keep logging, get some exercise in.  You know you can do it!!!!

******* cheers Tinka on********

Thanks olivia77!

I know the last thing anyone should do is punish themselves for....over eating etc etc...so I wont. :)

Your so right. Thats EXACTLY what I did too...... lol...... I ate that garbage at lunch then when I got home later in the evening my boyfriend wanted to order wings (and again I dont expect him to stop eating certain things) but right when he said that my ears perked up "hm? wings did you say?" lol

So he got pizza and asked if I wanted any and I shook my head no but replied "yes!!!!"

It wasnt so much how much I ate, but WHAT I ate...... 20 wings? they are so small, but pack SOOOO many calories I just... feel like I have them dangling off of me....

As for the gym...I go everyday (except for weekends, which...is going to stop as of this weekend hopefully lol) and I have a ball in my living room and for some reason that bad attitude of "oh I already ate this and that so f it....."  well it totally convinced me to remain seated on the couch (or more like fetal position lol)  so I feel like I just want to take scissors and cut out July 14th.......

But instead I will file it in the 'past oops' inbox...

Im still...eating carrots and they are just not filling that hunger....weird.....I have these snacks  they are called Eating Right Cheddar flavoured potato crisps.........anyone try those?

they are low fat and 110 calories and 1.5 grams of fat for only 23 crisps...AND they are fair size too...as in, I dont think I could eat 23 in one sitting....

Any comments on them? (Im just concerned because well...I bought them in the 'chip isle'

good, tinka!

I have nights like that too....when J says CHinese, I have a hard time saying no.

as for your chips, they sound yummy!  I don;t think we have those around here....  too bad!   oh and if the carrots are not cutting it, try something else!  protein always helps me feel full -- can of tuna, string cheese, something yummy.  ( :

Olivia77:  I don't think I am doing anything particuarlly special to lose.  I am pretty strict about counting my calories, it usually try to keep it between 1250-1600 sometimes I go over but I never go under 1250.  I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and do about 30-60 minutes of cardio then I do my weights for about 30-45 more minutes.  On the days that I only do 30 minutes of cardio I go to the track at the local high school and run with my hubby.  I usually get in just under 2 miles plus I do bleachers, lunges, and my ab workout (abs are killer on the bleachers!!)  On the days I can't get to the gym I either go walk for at least an hour, or I do strength training stuff around the house.

The last 2 days though I have been retaining massive amounts of water, damn the heat!  I am drinking so much water everday to counteract that I am up all night peeing...LOL!  Hopefully this whole situation end soon.

Janeiro: I really do try to be more healthy when I am in school, but I only have so much time in the day.  My schedule is very hectic and this semester that I will be starting is the most hectic by far.  My husband works about 100 miles away from home and he works 12 hours shifts so the 3 (sometimes 4 or 5) days a week that he works I have to do everything around the house by myself.  And it just so happens that the days that he goes to work are the days that I go to school, so that I means I have to get up 1 hour early to get my 2 kids ready to go, get them fed, and get my school stuff together.  Then I have to drive them across town to family's house so I can go to school.  I go to school 4 hours on Monday and Wednesday and on Tuesday I do a 12 hour shift at the hospital.  We have tests every week on Fridays (there are a couple of weeks that we are luck and have a test every other week).  On these tests there can be as many as 20 chapters, and the only days I have to study are days that my hubby is not home (which doesn't always work out that well with 2 little kids running around).  In addition to that we have to organize a leadership project and we have many other things that have to been done.  I really want to keep up but time is not on my side.  I have already started trying to plan out how I can keep working out, I am not that worried about the eating part (well maybe a little, the holidays are always my enemy..LOL).  I just feel like working out is such a crucial part of my weight loss and even more so my health and well being.  I am hoping that keep in touch with you guys will keep me on the right track!

Hmm really? Thats a shame, because they are yummy and light and fill the gap (Im going to eat some now lol)

Im stuck at work right now so its not like I have much option to eat protien....Ive got two giant tubs of soy whey but.....I really cant stand the taste of them...Just bothers me. Even when I got some in my booster juice once it was gross... (You guys may have a Jamba juice there instead...I went to one once when I went to Hawaii)

As for these Eating right crisps, it says  they are a product of usa but prepared for Lucerne Foods in calgary, alberta canada...... I dont know.....they are pretty new, so maybe they are in  your stores, check it out, who knows!

Ladies - I've got kind of a problem. I just started new training at Olive Garden (yuck) and I was pretty much required to sample all of the appetizers today as well as the equivalent of one glass of wine. What the hell am I going to log as calories? Everything was full of oil and butter or deep fried. Ugh. I have to do this again tomorrow and Thursday. Frick.

yourfavoriteblonde:...ooh, I feel for you!!!  That would be near near impossible to log!  I guess, if you can avoid sampling, or just take one bite would be the best bet.  Make sure you get lots of exercise in and hopefully you will maintain for the week.  Who knows, with the increase in calories, it may even jolt your system and make it work even harder...could be down a bit by the end of the week...bright side?  Good Luck!!!

OH damnnnn that sucks, blondie! I recommend just eating very very very light throughout the rest of the days you have to do this!

I have a problem, too. i've eaten 3000 cals a day for the past two days.....I feel like crapola, and I KNOW that I shouldn't eat only 500 cals for the next couple of days, BUT....It's so tempting to. I just hate looking at the math, when after the = sign, it screams

GAIN

:(

no use in eating only 500 cals, braille.  just counteracts all your body is trying to do!

eat enough good food, workout, drink water = happy you!!!!

Thanks olivia! :)

How was everybody's Wednesday?????

Mine was successful, maintained my 1500 cal limit and worked both jobs from 5am till 4pm (usually finish at 6pm, i was excited for two hours to myself!) Also plan to run tonight! :)

Feels good to know I'm treating my body right.
