don't worry about the person above
, I'm 5'1 and 48-47kgs is the ideal weight where as you said "don't have a spare tire"
listen weight loss and maintaining is not about diets! you can not be on a diet for ever its not good for your body! BUT what you can do is always choosing the healthier option and only have a treat once a week or something like that..
if you eat healthy all the time and excercise regulary you will be able to maintain it with ease..
good luck ![]()
p.s a trick i use when i do have treats is that i only eat half of it..
nah...that was only a year ago. i lost 22 pounds, then gained 10 back. i think im about 110 now, but i honestly havent weighed myself in a long time.
i have that problem too :S I'm 5'3 and i was 110 lbs just 3 months ago.. and i dont know why i gained weight.. now I'm like 120.. i run 5km everyday and i have soccer, and i eat like 1200 cals. Nothing changed and boom.. im FAT :(
jessiexo, 1200 calories a day for someone your age and with your activity level is not enough. no wonder you gained weight! your metabolism is all out of wack. eat more, keep working out and stay off the scales for a little while.. i promise you your body will balance out and start losing again. you have to be patient though :) best of luck.
Jellobee, Yeah.. i know i'm not eating enough, but I've pretty much been eating about that much since like grade 7:S and my weight has always been about that much (well a little more as i got taller)
I'm wondering if i start increasing calories, how should I do it, and how much will i gain? :S It's almost summer and I'm trying to get back down to the weight, can't exactly allow myself to gain anymore :| !
thanks :)
have any of you tried calorie shifting/zig zagging? it seems like a good idea, but in order to maintain 1200 average calories/day, it would require you to eat as little as 1000 cals/day, and im wondering if thats healthy?
im 5'2 also and would like to weigh in the same range as you! i probably fluctuate between 107 on a good to 110 on a bad day as of now. these last few are the hardest for me to lose. i loved how i looked around 103. i feel like that is pretty tough to maintain and live comfortably though, i was working out like crazy for soccer when i was that small and could eat as much as i wanted. im working on it though. i think its going to take awhile since we already are pretty small. esp. if you're healthy and want to keep it off. ive trying to never overeat, i messed up today and am angry about it but oh well. then my stomach shrinks and i eat less all the time.
what happened to this?
One thing that i realized today is that back then, i was always tired, hungry yet bloated, grumpy, and despite being skinny (which is what i've always wanted) i still didn't really like my body. I looked like a boy with no hips and no butt, but i took pride in this.
Today i realized that maybe i have a little bit more meat everywhere and that i'm overall a little softer, but i realized how much healthier and feminine i look. I have so much more energy, especially at the gym, and my bum is fun to squish once again.
i guess what i'm trying to get at for anybody reading this is that there are ups and downs to weight loss/gain. The main point is to have an positive attitude, because perfection doesnt exist if you dont let it exist. everything, including my shapely, feminine and LARGE thighs are perfect.
my goal these days is to just feel healthy. from now on, i'm
just going to try to avoid sugar and feeling bloated. i hope all of you
have the same goals.
Just wanted to remind you all that you are all aiming for low weights, and while it IS healthy for some body types to attain that, it is still quiet slim so please don’t get too carried away!
If you have a BMI of about 19 ( 18.5 at the VERY VERY lowest) then you should not be trying to lose weight, you should be doing core/abdominal work and resistance work to tone the fat you do have up so you LOOK slimmer, and have smaller measurements without losing weight.
Wanting to lose weight when you already have a BMI of 18.5 or 19 is a very unhealthy goal
If you have a BMI of under 20 and you want to lose more weight that that is a disordered way to view weight and food.
At 5'2 and 110 pounds--this can hardly be considered a "bad day" and if it is for you then please go and get some professional help. I suffered from similar thoughts and it is very unhealthy. You guys are all feeding each others' negative outlook on your bodies and your relationship with food. No one on this forum needs to lose weight and I completely agree with courtneylauren there is no perfect if you dont allow there to be one, you are your own worst enemy and no matter what weight or shape you attain there will always be something imperfect about you if that is your approach at life and your self image. also, personaltrainer87 makes a good point, and that's that it's not healthy for everyone to reach such low weights because their body structure and genetics are such that they are healthiest at higher weights. Besides, no one on here has a bmi that even puts them at risk of being overweight, it seems as if you guys want to be unhealthy, emaciated, and miserable. i'm telling you from experience that it's not worth it and im sure your bodies are perfect the way they are (: please just shift your focus away from what the scale tells you and focus on being strong and healthy. lear to love your body!!
chrissy1988 - i completely agree with you! my post however, came straight from the OP's journal; I was just trying to remind her.
As I read the previous posts and even though I know everybody is different, I doubt that any of you really look fat at 110-120!!! I'm 5'1" and currently 125. At my lowest (117!!!), everybody was telling me that I looked too skinny.... and I'm fit but not THAT fit... Even if I wanted to, I could never be 100, unfortunately, I'll just have to accept that!
you wont like this-but thats tough. at 5'2 and 105 lbs you have a bmi of 18.8. thats underweight. whether you like it or not, as you age and become a woman, your body is goin to strive to have extra fat and extra weight. so 100-105 is unattainable unless you want to be uber consumed with uber low cals and high levels of exercise.
i suggest you eat 17-1800 cals and see where your body settles. chances are its gonna be around the 110-115 mark. and you'll have a NORMAL BMI LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE.
All my charts state 101 lbs as the lowest number in the range for a healthy weight at 5'2". 1700-1800 is above maintenance calories for a sedentary 5'2" female around 105 lbs, so yeah, the body probably would gain weight eating that much every day. Really, calling 105 abnormal isn't very nice. Especially since 5'2" and 105 lbs looks fine for people with small frames.
I think 100 lbs is too light, as do my BMI charts, but the middle number of the healthy range isn't a perfect weight for everyone.
I agree that fidget84's comment could have been worded a little nicer but he/she was probably just trying to get their message across.
Are you really sedentary? Do you sit on the couch all day long? Most girls who posted here are moderately active to highly active (like jessiexo).
When I was 105, yes, I was quite sedentary. And I did look normal at 105. And I do continue to get comments about being fatter now, at 115.
They are active on cardio. If they simply don't eat the calories instead of burning them off, the result is the same.
Just thought I'd throw in my numbers here. I'm 5'1" with a very small frame and according to my doctor, 95 - 105 lbs. is considered a healthy range for me. YES, even a weight of under 100 lbs. is not dangerous depending upon your body type. Everyone is different, so sometimes you just need to ignore those who give you a hard time because your goal weight is 100 lbs. They dunno the rules of the short people like us. ![]()
And to answer the original questions, I eat about 1,300-1,500 a day, have a physical job, and I go to the gym about 3x a week, or get in an average of 3 hours of cardio a week, and weight-lifting 1-2x a week.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
