Hi I'm sapphire I used to weigh 185 but now I'm down to 153.4.  My height is 5/5 and I want to lose more weight I'm a college student and soon will be a teacher too.  I am so happy to be part of this group.  I need to lose close to 10 to `12 pounds.  I want to look great and be healthy on my graduation day which will be soon.  Today I will use my easy shaper video to help me get back on track and some youtube exercise videos as well.  Wish me luck Prayer is key

Good morning ladies... Just dropping in to say hi.

I'm not having a fantastic week but it's not terrible either. Last weekend I weighed in at 133.4 (on sunday). I don't think that was a most accurate weigh in since I didn't really eat much on Saturday so I'm going to assume that's why. I'm going to go on my weight 2 weeks ago which I think was 134.4 or something. This weekend is going to be super tough for me. It's my husbands birthday tomorrow and my 30th birthday party on Saturday (my birthday is Monday). We are going to Red Lobster for dinner. I already checked the menu and decided what I will eat. I love seafood and am just hoping not to overdo it. But I know on top of that there will be some drinking and snacks at the party so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I can stay strong. I'm hoping to weigh in on Monday at 134-135 ish and I will be content that I didn't go overboard. I'm going to be off of work for the next 3 weeks after this to take care of my mom so I think they will be good. I will have a bit more time to prepare healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and more time to work out since I am not on a schedule.

Hope you all are having a great week.

Welcome ms. veggy and sapphire. Isn't is a consolation knowing that we are not alone in this process? That there are a lot of people just like us who are in the continuing walk toward better health and as a plus, a better look? I know!!! Awesome. It gets even better when these people accomplish their goals. This absolutely gives you hope and something to look forward.

Goodness ladies, I am on the same boat as peanut, ocean, and ssdevine. For some reason I am not as motivated this week as I was about 2-3 weeks ago. I am trying but it's just not there for me. I hate it when it happens. I try to find motivation in all I can but sometimes it just seems worthless. But we gotta keep at it girls. We have to. Good luck to all. Smile

Hi, I am not 5'3" but 5'5"... I started earlier this week at 137 and today I weighed in at 134.5!  I think there is some water weight in there but I dont care, it makes me happy!  My goal weight is 115.

I am so inspired by your posts!  It really has been motivating me!  It is hard to train your mind and body to obey!!  I read your having a tough week but I am having a great week so perhaps I can send some motivation your way that your site has given me!!  I do two things when I feel 'blah'.  I wear really bright lip stick and I have a red push up bra!  I know that has zero to do with dieting but when I feel sexy I am on on fire and when I am on fire I am ready to do the things I need to do!!

I am doing the p90x workouts and while my body is very sore and tired I find comfort in the fact that I know I am doing the right thing and beyond this hill that I cannot see over is a wonderful place where my thighs no longer touch!!

We can do this!  There is so much to gain and so little to really lose!!!

Hiya everyone! :) My name is Lauren. It's nice to meet you all!

As everyone has done before me, I'll state my situation. I'm 5'3' and I'm guessing (and I say guessing because my mother doesn't believe in owning a scale) that my current weight would be anywhere from 127-130. I know this might sound like an average, healthy weight, but I actually have a bunch of random fat hanging around that I've gained since being out of karate that I'd just LOVE to get rid of, especially since I have a small frame.

I'm currently a freshman in college--eighteen years of age, to be precise--and, given my current lifestyle, I am finding it really hard to get down to my goal weight of 115. I have classes and my part-time job every day until 5:30pm, save for the weekends, and the time after work up until I go to bed is usually spent working on projects and homework for class (art classes are VERY demanding D: ). This makes it very hard to find time to exercise.

Added to this is my eating situation. My mother prepares all of the meals in the house, and as such she likes to overfill our plates. She thinks that portion control and more smaller meals each day are absolute nonsense and anyone who controls how much they eat are essentially starving themselves and are turning anorexic. Because of this, I have not been able to control how much I eat to result in the weight loss that I want.

I would really like to get on track and reach my goal weight very soon. I do not want to be deathly skinny like what has been imaged as "perfection" nowadays. I want to be slim, fit, and healthy. I want to feel fresh and new. I've always felt like if I did this with a group, I'd make it a lot further than by going it alone, where it's much easier to slack off, which I do admit further adds to the reason I'm having so much trouble with losing weight. I'm ready to get this party started! :)

Alright Monday weight in!

LW: 137.8

CW: 136.6

Not sure how or why, but I like it!  I started adding way more water into my diet these past few days, so I'm thinking some of that loss could just be water weight.  But it's all good!  The self control is going pretty well so far, but there are still times that I find myself losing the battle a little :(.

How's everyone else doing?!  Stay strong!

Weigh in week 3!  131, same as last week.

BUT!  I am noticing a positive change in my body--more toned, less fat.  My clothes fit better and look better.  Since I'm on a muscle building, fat burning regimen, the scale is not the most meaningful measure of body changes.  So, I'm going to measure and report my inch changes starting this week.

waist:  27

hips: 37

mid-thigh: 20

I was very disciplined this week with eating and working out.  I've changed to a higher-carbohydrate diet because I was feeling lethargic and running out of energy during my workouts.  I was on 40% protein/40% carb/20% fat.  Now I'm shooting for 60% carb/20% protein/20% fat.  This upcoming week is a "rest week" in my workout program, which doesn't really mean rest.  It means less weight training and all cardio.  We did the first workout yesterday, and it KILLED me.

I weighed in at 127 today!  One pound down from last week.  :)  Even after my horrible week.  I really was good this weekend, so I'm thinking that's why.  Plus I sprinted a mile and a half last night.  Either way, I'm excited.

Sadie, I love your idea of measuring, because I often wonder how much my hips and waist measurements have changed since I started losing.  I've gone down two pants sizes, but I'd still kinda like to know.

I hope that everyone has a great week!

Weigh in day again! Sometimes the week just seems to fly by. This last week, I was really strict about my diet and workout for about 4 days. The other 3 were a disaster. I did however manage to lose .4lbs this last week. For a weight of 135.4! One of these days I will see below 130, hopefully by the end of this year. My goal this week is to get down to 134. Therefore, I need to lose 1.4lbs this next week. I can do it, I just have to stay motivated and keep up my workouts. Good luck to all the rest of you! I know you can do it.

Sadierose: I have been keeping records of my measurements so far and it is truly amazing just how many inches are lost from a couple of lbs. I measure in every month and record it in my journal on CC. This is another way to stay motivated.

hello, i'm going to join in as well

i'm a 20 year old med student(which can make you eat, especially around exam time!), and i weigh 137 at the moment. i actually do rather a lot of exercise and play rugby for the university team - 2 matches and 2 trainining per week, i also do circuit training once a week and try and do some cardio and weights another 2 times a week. however, i have a big formal to mark halfway through our studies in january and i'd like to get down to 120 so i can get a nice new sexy dress!

i have been trying since september, and have lost only about 5 pounds but i have fallen off the wagon so many times, but hopefully this will help me on my way :)

i'm trying to eat between 1200 and 1400 a day, as i only eat about 1800 normally and given my high activity level i don't think thats much but i guess i must have a slow metabolism.

good luck to you all and i've enjoyed reading your stories so far.

This week is not off to a good start :(

I was done to 140 last Friday with so much confidence I would finally break the 140's

after a year. However, a weekend spent with family and I'm back up to 142 where I

started. I'm trying not to let it get me down but things are extremely stressful for my

family. My husband has been gone going on 5months and we only see him on the

weekends. I'm left behind with our two children to sell our home, OCD clean for

possible showings, and other daily routines of being a mother. My husband said not

to let this week get me down because I've been doing really well. I hope this week

I at least get back down to 140 for next Monday. I hope you all had a better weigh

in this week! I am motivated that I can get this weight off and I really really

appreciate all wonderful words from all you ladies. I hope you all have a fabulous

day!

Oh I'm sorry to hear that :( . You can do it!

I've been gaining a lot of weight over the past year, and I figured that I should stop it right in its tracks!!

So i joined today hoping to drop the 20lb I gained by April. One problem I have, I HATE excercising right now, my ankle was torn up within this past year and when I'm jogging (which is what I used to do quite often), it's painful on my ankle. So I'm struggling with that, and also I'm in my first year of college, so it's another routine I have yet to figure out.

So currently I am 5'9" (I know it's not 5'3") and 150lb, my first stepping stone goal is to lose 10lb. Then once that is done I will shoot for the next 10. The calories I'm supposed to be consuming are 1300.

I hope I'm welcome in your forum.

^_^ Britt

Everyone is welcome!! Have you tried swimming to deal with the problems of your ankle?? That is a great way to burn a ton of calories without the stress on your joints.

Thanks for the words of encouragement and have a great week!

So what's everyone's thoughts on how often to weigh?  For a while I've been weighing every day, but I noticed that how much I weighed in the morning (even with the knowledge of daily fluctuations) it would still dictate my mood.  I don't know about only once a week though...seems too little to me.  I think I'm going to weigh in on Mondays (obviously) but also maybe once on Wed/Thurs....just to make sure I stay on track!  How often do you guys weigh and do you think it has an affect on your weight loss?

Hello Ocean_girl

A word of wisdom. . . Once a week is a great balance in weighing in. Women often become obsessed with the scale and what the number says. The bigger factor is how many inches you lose and how you feel in your clothes. The number is important to loosing but not in the grand of things. It's important to remember that muscle is heavier and that even though you may be at a number that's not what you pictured; you may in fact be much smaller based on the amount of inches you've lost.

Keep that in mind and you'll feel better about yourself. . . good luck! I hope this helps with your question :)

Ya I agree with go_aves19, weigh in once a week, that way it'll be a check-up on how you're doing.

That's my plan, weigh in once a week, and measure everything from my arms down to the hips and legs. That way I'll have a good idea at where I'm really at.

And sometimes you just lose water weight, which may be shown on the scale but not on the measuring tape. So doing both those methods once a week should be most helpful.

Hope I helped Smile

Have been too busy at work to weigh in, but I'm at 130.0, so hopefully next week I will break the barrier and drop back into the 120's.  Being so busy has definitely helped me keep my calories low w/o trying too hard because I don't have time for any snacks!!!

Hi Ladies..

I am having a terrible week. I didn't get to weigh in on Monday. Actually I didn't want to because I really went crazy on the weekend. It was my birthday party (big 3-0 now) and I totally binged. Anyway. I weighed in this morning at 137.0. That is 3 lbs up from 2 weeks ago. I was fairly upset with that. I have an action plan though. I don't like to start plans mid week though so I am starting on Sunday. I just have to keep control for the rest of the week so I don't gain anymore.

I agree with Ocean girl about the weigh ins although I must say I can be one of those girls that becomes obsessed with the scale. I am going to be weighing myself 2x a week. Although I feel the best about myself when my clothes feel good vs when my weight is down.

Anyway, wish me luck on my plan ladies. Hopefully I can stay on track.

ssdevine,

Happy belated birthday!! I'll be turing the big 30 in March :)

Don't beat yourself up too badly you all have our moments of weakness. As long as

put yourself back on track you'll be fine. And remember life is about ENJOYING it!!

When it's a special event have fun if you are so concerend during those moments

about what your eating you wont' have any fun. . . My rule is on events or holidays

I allow myself that one meal to splurdge but the whole day previously and after

I get right back to my healthy eating. I've noticed that in doing that most times I

don't gain any weight. Good luck and I know you'll do fine!!
