15 Lbs for Christmas

So, I lost about 25 lbs a little over a year ago and unfortunately gained back. I was using this site while I lost that weight and I was part of a motivational group of a couple people. It helped me a lot; we checked in everyday with how we were eating and exercising. I'd really like to try it again, so anyone who wants to lose some weight before Christmas and would like a little motivation while doing it should join me!

I would really love to be 140 by Christmas.

Great minds think alike!  I just wrote my journal for the first time on this site, saying just that - 15lbs for Christmas.  I'm really hoping to lose 3.75 inches from my bum, and think that 15lbs will achieve that.

Hey agaac - I hope we can both keep eachother motivated so that we can get to our goals!

I didn't make it to the gym today because I had a lot of studying to do..my finance homework took 6 hours! Anyways, I did good on eating today tho.

I'll join you guys... I am still at the begining of my weight loss i have 50 lbs total to lose but, 15 by christmas sounds doable.

I started out at 307 in January 2004.  Lost 85 pounds after I discovered CC.  Got too complacent and quit counting calories, gained back over half.  Have lost 34 since May 23, 2009.  Setting small goals now. 

Fifteen pounds over three months sounds realistic and doable.  I'd like to participate.

I'm 63.

dragonflyy - I'm definitely still at the beginning of my weight loss as well. Hopefully if I can lose this 15 I'll stay on track to lose the rest!

joy -  I think 23 is doable! I know I've heard that 2 lbs a week is the highest you should lose per week, and I've also heard that you can go off what you weigh.  So in your case you could lose 1.73 lbs a week x 13  = 22.1. You can do it!

I woke up early this morning to go to the gym before class and I'd still like to go for a short run tonight. I kept lunch and breakfast light because I knew I was going to a social for a student org that I'm in and it was at a restaurant where I knew I'd be eating some fried food.

B: Applesauce

L: Veggie Burger and granola bar

S: Granola Bar

D: Slider, an onion ring, breaded mushroom, potato wedge (had a little of everything haha) and some chips and taco dip....also had an oatmeal raisin cookie.....big dinner

S: A little popcorn

I figured this comes to about 1600.

How did everyone do today? I didn't make it to the gym but I got a lot of walking in and ate decently today. I also went and saw a speaker on nutrition. He wrote the book "In Defense of Food". It was pretty good; I'll probably read that book.

I think I've gotten past the plateau I've been stuck on for a couple of weeks.  For the past week I've upped my calories by about 300.  Scale is showing a pound lost since yesterday.  I'm about 300 calories short for today, though.  Need to determine what I'm going to eat before I go to bed.  Don't really keep a lot of snacky stuff in the house.  Maybe a crisp tortilla with some low fat shredded cheddar.  That would at least get me closer. 

This week has been a little off for me. I havent made it to the gym once and i have gone over my calorie targets alomost every day because i didnt log everything i ate. I am getting back on track though the inlaws have returned to their home so i can get back to my schedule.

Hope you are all doing better than I am...

Hello everyone.  I would really like to join your group.  I am just starting on my weightloss goal of 100 lbs.  It's alot to lose, but I really think I can do it.  I know it won't be easy though.

I hit a wall in my weight loss the last couple weeks. I'd gone from 162 to 152 since July, and just stopped a few weeks a go. Yesterday I was back up to 153.

My original goal was to get to 145 by mid November- I'm going to Costa Rica for a wedding. I've gotten off track, but I can still get there.

So, we have almost 13 weeks left. We can do this! It's only 1.15 pounds a week.

A little more about me:

Age: 30

Height: 5'8"

Starting Weight: 161

Current Weight: 153

Goal by Christmas: 138

That would be my lowest weight in about eight years,  but what he hell,  might as well aim high!

 That's a great book. My other favorite is Mindless Eating.

I'm in! I'm at 162 down from around 176 and I'm really looking forward to keeping it up. Now that I think about it tho - dropping another 15 pounds would put me in the 150's and that would be SO exciting I can barely comprehend it. What a great xmas present if I can make it!

I am shooting for 138 by next March--my husband and I are planning to go to Costa Rica on vacation.  I'm shooting for 145 to 150 by the end of the year.  I had been hoping to get ALL my weight off by then but it is just not going to happen.

Let's keep each other motivated!

I'm so jealous of you ladies that get to go to Costa Rica! I went to Honduras for 3 weeks last January and thats what really got me motivated to lose weight. Central America is beautiful!

I really want to go for a run today, but I went to Oktoberfest yesterday and was dancing to bands and walking around  ALL day and my legs/ankles are so extremely tired today. I really want to because I really want to be a pound down on Wednesday when I weigh myself.

I'm in- it is a nice reasonable (and therefore attainable) goal.

I am 5' 3" currently 135 lbs and aiming for 120 by Christmas.  Failure is not an option and I look forward to sharing my successes with you all.
