Hi every body! I just wanted ot share a little bit of my personal story. I have been watching and reading the posts for inspiration. I was really thrilled to see some people seriously achieving a victory over there own health! Way to go to every one who looses weight (in a healthy way). I wanted ot share with every one out there a little bit about my story.
Probably one you have heard before: former athlete, married two kids....got lazy ate too much, never worked out blah blah blah. Well in November I found out I had type 2 diabetes. This was a serious blow to some one who had always thought of themself as an athlete...even if i was a retired one. Even worse was the fact that i had reached 348lbs! Holly cow (litteraly)
Of ocurse the doctor told me to loose some weight take my meds and knock of the junk. Good advice but then how...... Well I always was a hard headed guy. SO i got out the diet books, read up on diabetes, dusted off the stairmaster and started. This was 11/14/07. Well as of today i am 268. That is 80 lbs in 3 months.
I know most people freak and ask if i am starving myself or taking pills blah blah blah. teh naswer is no. I eat on average 2100 calories per day. And I spend about 30-45 minutes a day doing afairly agressive work out. My docotr told me that I am a new man medically. So I thought I would give myself a shout out. Everyone out there keep moving and the rewards are there....I plan on hitting 230 by the end of the year. This will put me 15lbs under my fighting weight. Peace and love to you all.
Dan
Congratulations on your loss! That's amazing! I went from 250-200 in less than a year, so huge weight loss when you are obese isn't that scary. If you went from 180-100 in three months, I'd be more concerned :)
Good luck on the rest of your loss!
Good Job! I love hearing life style changes that work! Isn't it awesome that you can eat 2100 calories in a day, add a little exercise and STILL drop that much? I can't believe people starve to be thin... it's just not needed.
That 80lbs must feel like a huge weight off your back... I recently lost 40, 240 to 200, and I have noticed a 'skip' in my step.
WAY TO GO!
