I carry my extra baggage in my mid section and this time last year i weighed 15 lbs less. My weight is always up and down and it drives me crazy. I need to get back on track with healthy habits and start exercising regularly again. Im going to meet my boyfriens parents the end of December and would love to feel my best. If you are a woman who is active and having a hard time with those last 10 or 20 lbs join me and we will support one another and share stories . weigh ins once a week lets say tuesdays.
My stats:
5 feet 10 1/2
164lbs
goal weight:145 by December 20
It looks pretty nice. I used to take jazz and tap classes for about 10 years and that thing would have been great to have in my room then! I still think it looks really great, i think if I had more room (i live in a small apartment) I'd consider buying it.
it's been going well mdillman! i did the juice fast on tue, the veggies/fruits on wed and half of thursday. i started to eating back to normal on friday. since last week i am down 2 1/2 pounds. yippee!
congratulations morlan! everyday i wake up and when i lose the fogginess of sleep, I remember that i'm losing weight and being healthy and it gives me a little boost. i'm still about 137 but i'm excited to see 135, it has been years. I know its only a couple pounds, but it's kind of that first little mini goal.
i feel the same way. i get a little excited when i wake up and am down on the scale. i think it's great to have little mini goals. i am trying to make mine 5 pounds, and then when i finally get to my long-term goal i'm going to reward myself with a hair makeover (that i desperately need!) i could go ahead and get my hair cut, etc...but i'm making myself wait and work for it :)
well ladies its tuesday and ive lost a pound i guess thats good right it is hard to have such slow progress anyway how are you ladies doing?
I forgot to weigh in last week. I think I was 155.6 and today I am 154. It was a bit lower over the weekend, so I hope I am starting to actually lose. My numbers have been bouncing around all summer. Up down up down, but never more than 5-6 lbs down.
How's everyone doing?
I'm doing good..I forget what my original weigh in was here but I'm down to 134.6 so I'm pretty excited. I lost 1.8 pounds since last sunday so I'm feeling good about this, I even ate almost maintenance friday and saturday because friday i found out i'm being laid off by the end of the month :-( so i'm kind of unhappy about that. I'm not thrilled about my job anyway, but I still liked having an income..Anyway, I have a feeling the eating maintenance thing for a couple days actually helped my weight loss a little. I got to eat yummy stuff that i no longer crave, and i got back on track sunday and weighed myself yesterday at the gym.
Having a good week so far everyone?
I feel fab. For a week and two days now, I've been a married woman and it feel great...beautiful etc. I'm sorry to be a cheese ball, but the ceremony was beautiful and when I got back early Friday morning I was scared to weight myself. But after mustering up the courage the following morning, I was delighted to see that I weighed 153.2. I lost a pound rather than gained, and believe me, I was eating and drinking without a care in the world.
How is everyone?
congratulations annulyju! I'm glad you had such a wonderful wedding..I love weddings, family and friends together eating drinking and reminiscing. Couldn't be a better occassion.
I have a question for everyone..this weekend I ate my normal (about 400 or so below maintenance) and drank a few glasses of wine fridy and saturday. Friday i drank my normal amount of water but saturday I didn't drink enough so I figured when I weighed myself sunday that I would have gained, but I was 2 pounds less than I had been on Friday. Could this be from being slightly dehydrated? I wish I could believe the new lower weight (on the reliable scale I've been using for the past month), but I feel very doubtful that it's possible. Any ideas?
I wonder that too. I jump around all over the place and I can't figure out what the cause is. I guess we just have to wait and see!
Its Tuesday! Its my 8th wedding anniversary. Congrats annulyju on joining the club. Its flown by and I don't think I feel much different than you do!
Starting weight: 155
9/24: 156.4
9/29: 155.6
10/7: 154
10/14: 152.8
After a whole summer of bouncing around 155-156 I think I am seeing some progress! Can't tell you what I'm doing different. Maybe its just less parties & vacations and other opportunities to just say heck with it.
congrats ladies!!! I must apoligize i started this thread but honestly its been so hard for me to stay motivated i have barely lost 1 lb. its been over a month of counting eveything i eat and exercising im so frustrated i dont know what im doing wrong:(
hang in there arrow27! it took over a month after gym-ing it for 4-5 times a week and counting for anything to start happening. it is now so maybe it just takes more time to kick in for you.
mdillman - don't doubt your loss, enjoy and celebrate :) my family came in to visit last week and i haven't been on for a while, i ate more than usual and stalled, but got right back into the game and am down again. i think the things i'm doing are finally making a difference....congrats on your loss!
Thank you kkerns, i'm glad to hear that 8 years strong, you are still in love! I was beginning to think that my parents are the only people I know that have been married for a long time and still hold hands and laugh together...Its good to hear.
Arrow27 and anyone else who might be interested, I recently saw a dear friend of mine and I noticed that she looked like she lost ALOT of weight so I had to ask her and she told me she actually only lost about 10lbs but that she has actually toned up more and dropped inches as opposed to weight (she really looked significantly slimmer!). I went on to ask her what it is that she does and she told me that her brother was training to be a cop but he has to lose about 30lbs, so she has been working out with him and he does the daily workouts that are posted on crossfit.com so she does it too (to the best of her ability because she said some of the exercises are really hard) and she also told me that they do TABATA in the morning 2 to 3 times a week and she runs on the weekends (3mi or so).
Now this is the interesting part. For those that don't know, Tabata is a type of High Intensity Interval Training cycle of 20 seconds of maximum intensity exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated without pause 8 times for a total of four minutes. I personally started doing this workout 3 days ago and I do squats very quickly for 20 sec then rest 10 sec then I do it again for 20 sec then rest 10 sec etc, by the time I've reached the 8th set, I'm sweating, out of breath and my thighs are on fire and honestly since the first time I did it 3 days ago, my legs have been very sore. I did it again yesterday, but I switched up the exercises; I sprinted for 20 sec, then rested 10, sits-up with a medicine ball for 20sec then rested 10, then jump rope for 20 secs then rested 10, then squats for 20 secs then rested 10 and did that cycle a second time for a total of 4 minutes. My husband also does it, but that was the first time I heard a woman say she does it and got great results so I decided to try it out and see what it does for me...what's the worst that could happen, I don't lose weight? That wouldn't be the first time...
It may seem like 4 minutes is nothing, but trust me it is intense and I do follow it up with other exercises. I recommend googling Tabata and reading about it. A new exercise that is intense does wonders for the body and the metabolism.
Sorry my post was so long and I hope this helps.
