70 lbs. down in a year!!

Quote  |  Reply

Hi everyone,

I am jumping the gun a little, I am still 5 lbs. away from my official goal weight, but I am finally at a healthy weight!

I owe a huge amount of my success to CC, and all of you who ask questions, answer questions, and just generally know what it is like to struggle with weight issues.

I started about 1 year ago, when I realized that I was still wearing my maternity pants almost 2 years after my last pregnancy.  I am 5'4, and I weighted 215.  I always knew how to eat healthfully, but struggled with controlling portions, and ate whatever, whenever.  I loved all food, healthy, and junk.  I have no idea what my calorie intake was, but I would guess that it was, on most days, over 3000!!

So, I finally got motivated to change.  I started walking every morning, and cut out junk.  Then I found CC in May, and have been counting calories (with a few days off) ever since.  Then, found a group in the forums and did Couch to 5K with some wonderful ladies, which transformed my fitness level!

I love this site, and everyone on it!  I think I still would have found success, but it would have taken me a lot longer, and would have been a much lonelier road!So thanks to all the moderators, and posters! You have all helped me so much!

Please feel free to check out my before and afters!

Congrats! You are an inspiration! I have lost and gained before, but this time I finally feel like I'm doing it right. CC rocks. I'm a little obsessed with it -- I can't stop reading the forums every night. I'm off to check out your before and after pix. Thanks for posting and keep up the great work!!!

This is what it's all about...  Keep the cycle going...!

I am also new to this site. I love everything about CC.  I especially love being able to have all A's on my food log.  I never had all A's when I was in school so  I am very motivated to make all A's everyday - or most days! Laughing  I have always walked for exercise but never even thought about my food intake.  Now I count calories and am excited to see my results - soon!  Thanks for all the inspirational stories.

Hello Trish,  your success is just super-duper! Can you tell me how many calories you consumed on an average day? Just wondering if calorie counting works even if you don't exercise like a maniac every day? How many calories below your burn rate did you consume each day? Did you lose steadily or did you have days when you lost a lot vs. days when you stayed the same?  - ElaineSPAIN

Elaine: I have really just started.  So, I'm trying to get the hang of it.  I am averaging about 1500 calories a day. I will see if that works when I weigh in.

Oh Trish, I see that you are just starting off...like me. I have been consuming 1800 a day and losing a pound and a half a week for 8 weeks or so....

I was looking at the main story post about sarahjo and wondering about how she lost the 75 lbs. in a year. That is amazing and wonderful. That could be me in a year! Or you!
