10 lbs down - posted before and after pics
So today I officially hit the 10 lbs down mark. This is exciting to me, because it's outside of my "denial" range. When I was 170, I still told myself I was 165 (even when I saw the 170 on the scale... it was always "oh I'm 165 but I'm retaining a bit of water" or something along those lines). Anyway, when I hit 165 for real, it didn't feel like much of an accomplishment. But this does.
I'm 5'4", I am now at 160. My goal is 128 but I am feeling so much better with myself already. I've been working out tons and eating between 1700-2000 calories a day. I do try to eat "healthier" foods but I haven't been calling anything off limits.
The before pic is probably less flattering for a few reasons... it was taken from below, and my chin was at a funny angle. I still sort of have double chins. But my tummy is definitely getting flatter. My arms seem less bulky, and I'm just generally way more toned, and stronger. Also, look at how much better my posture is, I think due to having a stronger core!
I am happy to share pics to give inspiration to those of you just starting (or those of you plateauing - I haven't hit a big plateau yet, but I definitely do seem to be losing in small spurts.) The slowness is frustrating sometimes, but when you look at the big picture, you can really see the changes. And I'm so proud of myself!

Well I assume that I have built some muscle as well, which would counteract the number on the scale.

I think you're right on about the posture, too. The exercise and just the general sense of well-being you've developed by taking care of yourself shows!
