Hey girl. You can lose this weight, but you gotta be patient. Expecting to lose 35 lbs in 5 weeks is practically impossible without causing yourself some serious injury.

Take it one step at a time. The weight didnt go on overnight, it'll take awhile to lose. You may be able to lose 70 lbs in a year though. Or at least close to it. How bout setting a smaller goal for the 4th of July, say, 5 lbs? maybe 10? If u expect yourself to lose much more than that then you will be likely disapointed, frustrated and probably give up and lose any progress you made. Take it slow though and in a year you'll be well on your way. Maybe even at your goal.

Focus on getting healthy, not on getting thin. Looking better is just a side effect of getting fit and treating your body better.

And I know how tempting it is, as a teenager, to want to lose weight quickly by eating wickedly low amounts of calories, but trust me, you need to feed ur body well. at least 1200 calories. But, I'd advise to aim for 1500 or more, plus a bit of exercise.
Hi.  Im 18 years old and I weigh 232 lbs.  I cant remember the last time I weighed 165 lbs.  I remember being 212 lbs in the 7th grade and the highest weight I was ever at was 252 lbs in the 11th grade.  I started calorie counting about 3 weeks ago and I havent lost any weight but I've heard that as long as you stick to it, over time it will start to work.  I can try to provide as much support as possible since I'm in a situation similar to you however I agree with the other person that you are not going to lose 35 lbs by july 4.  I have done many fad diets and the one thing I am noticing about calorie counting is that it takes commitment and patience.  Rather than going on a million speedy diets and losing a couple pounds and then gaining it all back, I would rather go on one long term  diet/lifestyle change and keep the weight off forever.
listen.. its very possibble to do it... just focus on your goal.. never think about anything but it.. when u go to snack on somthing look at it and say im too good for this and put it down and WALK AWAY, focus completely on being a smaller size when those hunger strikes arise, and everytime u get "head hunger" chew a piece of sugarless gum, eat only healthy foods, u WILL lose the weight in time.. but u have to WANT it.. more than anything.. u have to want to work to achieve it and i am posotive u do :] u can do it!! i was 190.. i am now 145 and i want to keep going down!!
thanks you guys you have helped alot....i understand what you guys mean ....ya now that i relize it i really cant lose that much.......i just wish maybe i could lose weight to where people can notice im actually doing something about the food i eat or the way i look...or how my body is doing....the main reason i want to be smaller is because its hard to get a job/boyfriend/friends/and to feel comfortable about yourself weighting alot.....it hurts it makes me feel like i dont fit in or belong....you kno???? i have a wonder boyfriend who likes me for me but sometimes i feel like my weight embarrasses him?? idk but i do kno im willing to do w.e it takes to lose weight
I just noticed you posted only a few minutes ago, but I wanted to add my support as well.
You can definitely do it.
To reiterate, make sure you're making realistic goals.  Try for 1-4 lbs per week, but even that can be difficult sometimes.  Make sure you're getting proper nutrition.
The good news is, it may be easier to take off the weight since you put it on quickly.
Just be careful not to fall into old habits, and you'll eventually get there.
Good luck!
thanks.....i really the need to help.....i usually forget to keep track of the calories i take in....what can i do to help remind me?
You will you can.  if I did it you could.  I went from 168-100.  You for sure could to.  but not to 100 I went to 100 cuz im a short little chick that every little pound shows as if it's a whole persons head.  You should go to like maybe 130=Perfect.  And your beautiful.  Dont worry =) and good luck.
I agree with sarah that you should focus so much on losing a lot in a short amount of time. People who try to do that are much more likely to fail in the end by gaining back pounds or getting frustrated during the process and giving up altogether.
shouldN'T ** lol
