Hi everyone.
I was actually googling personal trainers in my area, and this website came up. I'm so glad I found it.
I am 20, 5'0 and 155 lbs. I was always called "petite" and "tiny", but now I'm no where near that. I don't know exactly when or why I started gaining.
I used to be anorexic, and when I got out of that lifestyle I gained immediately. I was ok with being a little bigger...but I ballooned. I also was in a car crash hindering me to dance. Is it all of these or just some? I don't know- but I need it gone!
I've never felt this big before and just now realizing it's getting out of hand.
Anyone want to join this pity party?
I'll join ya! I've gained approximately 25 lbs since I started dating my boyfriend two years ago... I feel nasty. Sluggish. Sort of frustrated. Really angry at myself. On Monday I decided that I'm gonna change that and get back to my happy weight of 125 (I'm almost 6')... I've cut out fried foods, red meat, most carbs, and most dairy and am focussing on raw veggies and fruit, nuts and legumes, and a ttooonnnn of water... it isn't easy and in fact I'm totally craving Taco Time right now. Good job on kicking ana... I'm sure you can get back to your ideal weight just eating well and going for a brisk walk or doing some yoga (if your injuries permit you to). Pilates is awesome too if you just want to tone up nicely...
Keep on keepin on!
Thank you for replying! I was scared no one would take me seriously. Once someone sees age 20 or 102 pounds, they tend to be skeptical.
What's crazy to me is my boyfriend is vegan! He's been trying to get me into that lifestyle for years now, and I keep over looking it. I'm going to slowly get into the diet.
I drink Green Tea like mad!
On the response to the exercise (which I used to be in the gym or the dance studio- so probably the main reason I gained) my boyfriend bought P90x. I'm going to try that as well. I heard it was hard but well worth it. My knees are unfixable so there isn't much else I can do to them!
Do you know if this website or another that will have a meal plan?
Thanks!!
Hey! Not a problem... I can see where you're coming from :)
I wish my boyfriend was vegan!!! All he likes is fast food... whether it's Wendy's, Burger King, McDonalds, or whatever... and he doesn't gain an ounce (damn him)... I've started cooking dinner at home so that's really helped but he's so picky so all I can cook for him are the kind of foods you'd find at Appleby's like steak, ribs... all that yummy stuff... and then I have to make my own separate dinner so it gets really tedious. You should go for it though! I have a friend who's vegan and her skin looks awesome and she says she feels great all the time... probably because her insides are working properly, not all gunked up with processed foods hahahah...
That's funny that you mention P90X cuz I'm going to start that Monday!!! I know it sounds lame but I can't wait... I've seen all these amazing before and afters (I'm a total sucker for those)... so hopefully I can stick with it at least most of the time. My birthday's coming up in September so I think I'm going to buy a target outfit...
As for meal plans... I know specialk.ca has a program you could probably use.. they have lots of other tips and recipes too... sometimes if you google "meal plan" or "1400 calorie diet" they can at least give you some ideas and then you can just sort of make up your own and add in stuff you like...
Good luck!!!
I can totally relate ladies! Although i have never been as tiny as you two, i've always hovered around 140-145 at 5'1" and now that my hunny and i have been togther, i've ballooned to 165lbs!! He is all about fast food, and he eats late at night right beside me. It's so frustrating because he doesn't understand! I don't know what to do either!! Hellp!
Hey ![]()
I was always so small when I was younger..people thought I was in elemantry school when I was actually in highschool..I was so damn skinny lol
I gained weight when I was 19 years old..and I remained over-weight by around 15 kilos ( around 30 pounds or something ) for like a year..I can't remember very well..
but when I became 20,I got on a diet and started working out at the gym doing fun aerobics..it was not so much fun at first but after a while,I could not live without it..![]()
now I am 124 pounds at 5'4..and my goal weight is 118/115 pounds
..
The heaviest I have ever been was 160 pounds..
so I have been there..![]()
I wish you lots of luck..
Btw,you are pretty
I think being in love ruins your body more than kids. I'm also very short, 5', and when I met my husband I was just over 100 lbs. Four years later and I'm struggling to stay below 125.
He loves to eat everything greasy and salty. He'd just be happy to eat salami and cheese on crackers for every meal if I let him. I do love to cook but it's very difficult to find meals that we both like. I love all things seafood and pasta. He hates seafood and pasta. I tried to sneak some soy beans into his Asian dishes, he just about gagged. I suggest dinner at a sushi place; they don't only serve sushi, he insist on Uno's pizza.
How do you get men; who seem to have metabolisms of super models, to get on board with healthy eating?
I think you all are right on the dot! It is the boys who bring us down! When I first met my husband I was down to a pretty comfortable weight (135lbs.) but after being with his fast food loving self I shot up to 150lbs. in two years. I've been dieting and exercising now for about 4 weeks and I have allready got myself down to 137lbs. I want to get to 125lbs because of the "healthy weight BMI" thing. The worst part about all this is limitting my carbs... I miss bread soo much!
Isn't it how crazy it is that once you get together with your man, the weight goes up. All my bf eats is fast food and carbs and late at night too so when we first got together I would eat it all with him and then one morning as we were going to go out for breakfast at an all you can eat place, I put on my jeans and found I could barely close them. That was when I decided a change needed to be done. When I cook now, I usually make us the same meal but I'll cut out the carbs in my dinner. For example if I make tacos, I just put all the fixings in a bowl for me and don't put cheese in mine. And if I am with my bf and he wants fast food, I'll order a grileld chicken something and not eat one side of the bun. It's not as fun as ordering the french fries along with him and I get tempted sometimes by wanting something more "yummy" but I usually curb that by just eating one or two of his fries. My only downfall is when he wants Chinese food and I can't seem to say no to that orange chicken :(. Darn men and their being able to eat whatever they want and not gain an ounce!!!
haha, i think serajoe's boyfriend and mine may possibly be twins, and i think he agrees. :) he eats and eats all day and its only microwaveable food, fast food and TONS of sweets. if he doesnt eat these things at all times, he loses weight. never gains a single ounce though. why cant us women be this lucky? and we NEVER eat the same meals. he refuses to eat anything healthy...its so frustrating!
and ill also join the pity party. im 5'3" and i currently weigh 163. before i had my daughter a little over two months ago, i used to be anywhere from 125-135 and i was never any bigger. i have lost 9 pounds since sept 3rd though, 3 inches off of my waist and inches everywhere else!
katandcaleb- lemme know how the p-x90 things works for you. My husband just bought it.. so we will see how it does for him :) -
About your boyfriend being a vegan. I was a vegetarian my entire life, until i turned 20, i decided to start eating meat... mainly because my husband did. i found i really enjoyed the taste.... every thing from chic-fil-a to fillet minion.. mmm tastes like heaven.. However, during one year i went from 130lbs to 160lbs :( very sad. I don’t think it was because i was eating meat, i think it was because of the portion and type i was eating... like fast food cheeseburgers, and bacon and sausage for breakfast. I have struggled with the weight for several years since, trying a lot of different diets, first i tried to cut out meat again, thinking i would just go back to my weight before, but i really didn’t see any results. now i go to a nutritionists, and i have a gym member ship and a personal trainer, and i am on my way down the scale now :). i have found i lose weight easier when i include protein in my diet. i eat fish and chicken, but have cut out all red meat and pork. (but the nutritionist says pork tender loin is a healthy option).
if you are planning on going vegan, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and protein powder are all easy ways i keep my protein intake up.
good luck on your endeavors

Did you mean vegetarian? Cottage cheese and greek yogurt definitely aren't vegan.
