30 lbs by January 1st, 2008---***CLOSED***
I have been looking through the forums and all the cool 'loose by this date' posts are closed so I wanted to start a new one. According to the site this is a healthy goal if starting throughout the month of September. So your first post should be your current height, weight, bmi and goal weight.
Check in to post sucess, frustration and whatever else you need to talk about to keep you on track.
I'll start
BIGLOSER32- 5'2, 152, 27 Goal 123 by 1.1.08
I'm in too! Today is my first day on this sight and I need major motivation! I have been "fluffy" my whole life and I'm sick and tired of having the BMI tests come back as "extremely obese"
Height: 5'3"
CW: 196
GW: anything less than 196
I can't pressure myself or I'll get frustrated and give up ~ like I always do!! I'm trying a new tactic.
Hello all!
I am 34 years old...mother of one 2-year-old (so far) and getting ready &nbs p; to celebrate my 12 Wedding Anniversary this December 23rd...
So, here are my stats:
Height: 5'6" (I used to be 5'7"...I guess I am shrinking?!?!?
)
CW: 202
BMI: 32
GW by 01/01/08: 177 lbs
Final GW: 155
So apparently I'm the first one to post my weigh in for the day...but I'm kinda excited...168! I'm down two pounds!!!
YEAH ME!!!!!
Hope everyone else's goes as good as mine!
I am new to this...so I'll jump.
I have been struggling with my weight since June 02 when I weighed 150. I was just out of college, where i was exercising and running from classes and work. I moved to my current home with my then boyfriend...who is now my husband....continually gaining 'love' weight as I like to put it.
We are thinking about kids and I am trying to get into the habit of eating better and losing a little weight before I have to put it back on. Basically knowing I can lose it again after children.
Currently I am 190lbs at 5'7" with a medium frame. I started this on September 5th....so I am still fresh out of the gates. I am only consuming 1500 calories and have been good so far. My goal right now is 170 because I think it might be do-able before kids, which could happen at any time. I am also doing 3, 15 minute intervals of cardio at night and light weights to begin with.
I am excited and pumped!
Hi everyone – I am really excited this is the first time in a long time that I’ve actually stayed with a diet for more than 2 days!!
I usually end up eating everything in sight after the first or second day.
I’m down 2 lbs to 273.5!!! I look forward to reporting another 2-4 lbs lost at the next weigh-in.
Hi all! I'm excited about this! I need some extra motivation!
Stats--
182 current weight
160 goal weight by January 1, 2008
BMI is currently 27.7
Good Luck everyone!
3lbs!!
Hey Everyone I'm in for this
I am a 35 year old single mother of one. Dying to finally lose this wait. She's already 4 years old and I have not really got back to working out till Sept 1st of this year
So, here are my stats:
Height: 5'3"
CW: 139
BMI: 24.4
Goal weight and date: 123 by 01/02/08
Congrats on the excellent news from the scale.
I am actually up to 175 but it is still better than when I started.
Keep up the great work.
Congrats to everyone that has posted losses today! Your hard work and diligence is paying off.
I personally am a little frustrated. I have been beyond diligent in my food choices, caloric intake and exercise and I was up 1.5 pounds today (176.5) When I weighed last Friday I was 175.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! I will continue to work hard, it would just be nice to see some results.
Thanks for listening and again CONGRATS to everyone that was able to report good news!
Can I still join?
Height 5'2" (almost)
Starting weight: 130
CW: 123
GW: 100
BMI: 22.49
Age: 26
I have honestly been trying to send this post for TWO DAYS!! Finally got it together here. Work has been pretty hectic this week..excuses, excuses.
Well I am down 1lb...which I was ecstatic over. For my first week in the gym the scale was moving UP and NOT down. I don't care how much people tell you that that is normal..it just plain sucks :P But I was patient and kept going to the gym knowing there is no way this could continue and finally progress. Whew!
So I am at 151..hope fully by our next weigh-in on October 3rd I'll be in the 140s again.
Also wanted to mention that working out has been the only thing that has kept me going with the crazy week and all the deadlines coming up at work. I feel great when I wake up in the morning and am ready to go again. I skipped a day and was really sluggish. If you can't get to the gym, go for walk or do some crunches while watching TV. ANYTHING!!!
Have a great day!!

Just thought I'd add this little tidbit. Happy Friday!
Hello all -
I missed the weigh in on the 19th, but I wanted to weigh in late. I'm at 155, down one pound from 156. Only one pound, but it is one pound less. Woohoo!
Today is Monday: A fresh start (if there's anyone else out there that drinks on the weekends, you can relate that eating healthy is harder on the weekends!)
We should create some type of weekly challenge... For example, I would like to challenge myself to drink the suggested water amount (which I don't think I have ever successfully done but have read that it really helps with nutrition) Or... something like challenge ourselves to certain amount of exercise per day or per week...
Any thoughts?
I am still at the same weight I was when I decided to eat right and exercise, but I must admit that it is because I have not been consistent in my efforts.
I am probably going to re-evaluate my goal of 30 lbs by January 1st... If I do what I am supposed to do (as far as recommended calorie intake and exercise), I will lose 1 lb per week... So instead of 30 lbs by 2008, a more recognizable goal is 15 lbs... Either way, other goals I have between now and then include running a 5k (if anyone is interested in learning to run, check out the threads here... very nice way to ease your body into such a high impact activity)
Good luck to you all and definitely let me know what you think about weekly challenges!
Oh no! I completely forgot about last weeks weigh in...oops! Anyway, last time I weighed in I was down 1lb to 193lbs. It's not much but it's a start!
Well done everyone x.
