30 lbs by January 1st, 2008---***CLOSED***
I have been looking through the forums and all the cool 'loose by this date' posts are closed so I wanted to start a new one. According to the site this is a healthy goal if starting throughout the month of September. So your first post should be your current height, weight, bmi and goal weight.
Check in to post sucess, frustration and whatever else you need to talk about to keep you on track.

I like the Wednesday weigh-in, however I do agree that maybe a weekly weigh-in might make things more active and with the holidays coming up I know I'll need more motivation and support.
Anyway, since the last weigh-in on 10-3 I've lost 2.5 lbs. I'm down to 269 - up 2 lbs since Monday but I had pizza with the family last night so the gain is probably due to the high sodium level yesterday.
only 9 lbs to go to my goal of 260 by Jan 1, 2008.

Today is Wednesday! I'm liking the once a week weigh-in.
Today I'm at 180. I think that's down 9 pounds since Sept 16. Yes! 10 more to go until new years goal.

Lost 9 lbs. so far. YEAH!!!!!!
I know that was rather fast of weight loss, but i just increased my exercise daily and kept my diet the same, and its been mostly all fat loss, cause if any i've gained muscle mass during this time with my increased protein intake and increased weight training.
September 16th 2007 : 265lbs and change
October 19th 2007 : 235 lbs

I'm down to 164! YEAH ME! I have reset myself to a more reasonable goal based on the rate I'm losing...I wanted 140, but now I'm going for 155. And ~125 by March 16! (Which will be my 27th bday).

I'm down 2 pounds to 267 lbs. Only 7 lbs to my goal of 260 by Jan 1, 2008. If I keep planning my meals and continue to increase my activity I should be able to meet my goal and just maybe make it by Thanksgiving!?
I'm going to see family for Thanksgiving and boy would it be nice to be 15 lbs lighter when I see them!

So I'm not sure if we've "officially" decided to weigh in every week, but it was a pain to find this thread after only a week so maybe I should tag it...

Sadly, I have no loss to report today. I lost 2lbs and then gained 3! Ugh, so disgusting, all this Halloween candy is too much temptation. But, I still have 2months to go til New Year's so I will get back on track and lose 21lbs by 1Jan! Cross your fingers and wish me luck...
As of yesterday I'm down another 2 1/2 lbs. Only 4 1/2 lbs to go to get to my goal of 260. I'm revising my goal for Jan 1, 2008 to 249 lbs (below 250 for the first time in years!). That's only 15 1/2 lbs in 2 months. I CAN do this. Wish me luck.

I'm almost halfway to my 30 lb goal - I think I can do it....just have to stay focused and on track! I'm feeling pretty determined, so I think I'll get there!! Happy First of November, everybody.

Good motivation beemer!!! And if you want, pm me and I can give you great quick healthy meal ideas...especially for dinner!! Same goes for anyone else...I'm one of those that once i decide I want dinner, I don't want to wait through cooking...a lot of what I make it 20 minutes or less from start to finish...and unlike Rachel Ray's 30 min meals, I can typically leave my kitchen while it cooks! :) Another trick when things get hectic is to have specific food planned out already that you can keep in a lunch bag and take with you. And if they are already portioned out, it saves time there too!!!
Since we want to change the way we eat, its best to get into habits that are sustainable even when life throws us a curve ball, right???
Ack I'm late for posting my weigh-in, but I'm still here. As of last Wednesday, I was down to 178, I pulled another pound in and am at 177-- which is officially considered in the "slightly overweight" weight-range. Woot.
That's 8 down since challenge began, 7 to go!
brandy: As what you were discussing as far as habits go, I completely agree. I stopped calorie logging and just keep a running tally in my head. I can tell when I haven't eaten enough or if I've eaten a bunch of crap based on how I'm feeling. I think it will be more sustainable in the long run.
themachine: I totally agree. I honestly don't want to be tied to a computer, or doing the math every day for the rest of my life. This journey for me is to learn about how much I should be eating, and have an understanding of how different things affect me.
And apparently I'm doin ok, cuz I'm down to 161! 6 lbs to go by new years (with my revised goal). So I should be set!
I've also decided that after I'm done with my 12 week plan (Jan 13) I'm going to do that couch-to-5k plan. I don't necessarily want to actually run a 5k race or anything, it'll just be a new challenge to help get my heart in shape! (And the rest of me!)

You sound like me smbeemer...I am having the same problem with motivation lately and haven't been to the gym in a month! I have lost interest in counting calories the past week as well :( I hope I can get through the holidays without gaining weight and continue to lose weight...
I'm at 143 right now....so still down, but not feeling as energized as I was...:(
