10lbs by July 4th!
I know that might not even be possible for me but it is a goal I can try to shoot for. Who want to join me in the fight?
Here is a little bit about me. I'm a mostly SAHM of a 3 year old who has battled weight for along time. I won and hit my goal last Christmas the stopped. Over the last few months I gained back 15lbs. I have lost 5 and have 10 more to go. If I lose 5 more I can live with that.
This is a life long battle that I can win!
I'm 38
My highest weight: 235
When I joined CC: 178
Now: 130
Goal 120 to be maintained with a 5lb cushion.
I would like to have a weigh in on Mondays.

Hi Leanne:
I'm eating loads and loads of veggies, so any carbs I am getting are through vegetables and not processed carbs. I just had a really good salad for dinner with strawberries in it. I'm not eating grain for now except a tiny bit of brown rice but haven't had any for a week. I also had shrimp with dinner and more asparugus that I first steamed in the microwave (two minutes under paper towel on high) and then sauteed in a little bit of butter and garlic.
I eat hard boiled eggs for snacks and sometimes some salsa sauce and celery. I'll enter what I ate today in the log shortly. Oh for Dinner last night, I roasted pine nuts to put in the salad. That gives such a nice flavor to it.
That cleansing thing you mentioned sounds really good. I'll have to look into that book.
You mentioned you're doing weight training. Well I've been working out every morning but came down with the flu/cold that my son brought home, so hopefully I can work out a bit tomorrow, but I still feel under the weather a bit!
Let me know what some of your favorite meals are during this whole thing! Looking forward to it.
Alex
If you all are still open to new members, I'd appreciate joining.
I'm 24, 5'6" and 156 at the moment. I started out at 175 in August '08, went rather quickly down to 153 until final exams (and master's thesis project) hit. Between that and job hunting I went back up to 162 and am trying to fight a plateau to get down again. I was sitting on 160-162 for weeks on end despite my best efforts.
Since a good friend of my boyfriend is getting married on the 4th I have extra reason to try and drop down - hopefully that'll get me out of the 150's. I don't know that I can drop 10, but I'll shoot for it - and no matter what the result my reward is going to be a snazzy little dress to wear to the wedding.
So, I could use some motivation - I'm not so accountable to myself right now!
Hi there... I guess my goal too is to lose about that by the 4th, which is my birthday! What kind of help do you need in getting motivated? Do you need to email when you have cravings to eat or anything like that? Anyway, my name is Alex, and I just joined this group too. My email address is: alex_diet_09@yahoo.com if you want to email me. I work from home so I'm always online.
God knows I need the motivation too!
Nighty night...
Alex
Hi everyone,
Day 2 done!
Thank you Leanne for welcoming me it to the group.
I feel today went well I had 40 calories to spare and even got on the treadmill for a bit, I hope everyone had a good evening. - K
Good morning! Welcome windrine!
Alex, and/or anyone else struggling who would like a plan written out for them or just a few healthy tips.
This is Dr. Joey http://drjoey.com/site/home/index.html I have read a few of her books and it sound right up you alley. In fact, I might need to head back to the library and see about getting a copy of "The last 15".
I have read the make over one and it really works. Meaning you lose wieht and feel great, but I love red meat! I have finally gotten used to being satisfied with a "portion" but I'm not ready to give it up completely. Don't get me wrong I love boca burgers with all the trimmings at lunch. Or a low carb, low cal wrap with a mound of fresh sprouts and a tablespoon or two of hummus.
Okay now I'm kinda excited about getting back to a clean or at least cleaner diet. Although as it is my ladytime and I'm still crampy and crabby I think I'll go ahead and order http://www.amazon.com/Hungry-Girl-Under-Recip es-Calories/dp/0312556179 This is HG's 200 under 200. Low calorie, not that unhealthy junkfood.
Shiningstarcs I'm so sorry I missed your "when you started post!" Welcome and I hope your with us. 21 month old twins! Wow. Great job on quiting smoking that is a wonderful thing you did for you and your family. If you did that you can do this!
Thanks leanne, I hope so and I Think this is the last time and I will never smoke again! I have quit so many times including both pregnancy but I always seem to go back to it. For some reason this time feels different. I guess its alittle like losing weight and keeping it off for good!!!!! Amy
This sounds like a good idea to me! I'm 21, about 5'6" and 194lbs, my eventual goal is 140-145. I just joined CC a few days ago and this looks like a good start and will help with my motivation! Starting a couple days late but here goes~
goodluck to everyone!
Hi everyone! I'm sooo excited to join this challenge! I have been slowly gaining back the 10 lbs I had already lost, but this is the perfect thing for me to keep up my spirits with. I'm 25, 5'0 and 155lbs. My realistic eventual goal is 125-130, and I have no idea when that goal is to be met lol! Good luck everyone!!!
Highest Weight: 164lbs
Weight joining CC: 149 lbs
Now: 155 lbs

A welcome to wildmustng87 and tallison.
I hope we'll all be down at least .5 to a pound on Monday! It's work, but it is worth it. I'm in the swing of things now and that makes it a lot less difficult to choose my foods a little more wisely.

Hi Leanne and everyone!
I am new to CC but I was wondering if I might be able to join? I think 10 lbs off by July 4th would be fantastic!

Hello and welcome andi8983 and shapeshifter.
Shapes all I can say is wow! I can't imagine haveing that much energy. Good for you!!
Andrea CC has been a life changing website for me. Welcome!
Thanks Leanne, and what a cute daughter! I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy 'my poor body' as well! I also got gestational diabetes so my body went through it, I went from a 105 pounds to 185 pounds, and I have gotten down to 118 and then had a life changing event happen and gained 30 pounds, now I am getting down to my regular self again, still have 15 more pounds to go to reach my goal. I was reading your journal posts' .. How did you lose 5 pounds ina week? are you working out? is it diet? congrats regardless, How did you get from 140 to 125?
Thanks for the welcome Leanne! So far, from looking around it seems like most of the people on this site have a healthy, sound outlook on nutrition and fitness, so I'm excited to be a part of it.
I was wondering if any of you have had trouble actually hitting your minimum calorie goals? I find that by supper I need something like 600 calories to get to around 1300, and usually I'm not even hungry enough to hit that. Maybe I'm still just balancing things out.. any tips on how to have a more even calorie balance throughout the day (ie snacks that won't cause a binge)?
I'd love to join in...sorry I am two days late! I'm also the biggest one at this point it seems. I wish I only had ten more to go! it seems so far away!
Anyway, heres where I am:

My next big goal is to be at 242 by October 17th (my one year wedding anniversary. we are going away for the weekend and I'd like to look better!)
Thanks we think she a keeper.
The 5 lbs is just because it is the first week back to eating healthy for me. It's mostly water weight but at least its gone. I lost all of my weight just from dieting with a little exercise just to keep from losing all of my muscle. I prefer pilates with a exercise ball and dvd's and weight lifting.
I really like "The new rules of lifting for woman"
I count everything that goes in my mouth. Even the "let me just have a taste" of it bites. I very rarely eat sugar and most of my carbs are from whole grains. Although I will eat a greasy slice of pizza every now and again but I like to do that on weigh day so I have a week to work it off.LOL Oh yeah and my main way to lose weight it to stop drinking beer. Now if I have one I poor it into a tall frosty glass and really enjoy it.
Suzie you are very welcome to join us in our quest. If you want to lose 10 or 510 it has to start somewhere. I see you've already lost over 10 congratulations every pound is a milestone!
You all rock... it's motivating just seeing all you awesome people here so we can lose together
I'm going to drag myself out of bed now and try and sneak a bike ride in this morning so I feel like I'm making headway on this goal. I may not get a chance to ride this evening, depending on how much of a stressful work frenzy we are in to get caught up on the project work. So better get it in now when all I'll be missing is sleep!
and I'm going to try to do my in shape class on fit tv. Haven't worked out for a week due to a nasty head cold!
