10lbs by July 4th!
I know that might not even be possible for me but it is a goal I can try to shoot for. Who want to join me in the fight?
Here is a little bit about me. I'm a mostly SAHM of a 3 year old who has battled weight for along time. I won and hit my goal last Christmas the stopped. Over the last few months I gained back 15lbs. I have lost 5 and have 10 more to go. If I lose 5 more I can live with that.
This is a life long battle that I can win!
I'm 38
My highest weight: 235
When I joined CC: 178
Now: 130
Goal 120 to be maintained with a 5lb cushion.
I would like to have a weigh in on Mondays.

Well I wouldn't call this fun like I wouldn't call law school fun. Perhaps the word I would choose for both would be "challenging"? LOL! I'm curious to see where I weigh in on Monday!! Yikes... By the way, my name is Alex, and I'm 45. I will turn 46 on the 4th of July!!

I was wondering if any of you have had trouble actually hitting your minimum calorie goals? I find that by supper I need something like 600 calories to get to around 1300, and usually I'm not even hungry enough to hit that. Maybe I'm still just balancing things out.. any tips on how to have a more even calorie balance throughout the day (ie snacks that won't cause a binge)?
I have the same problem andi.. through a combo of eating healthier and eating smaller portions, my calorie count was always low. A suggestion told to me was to add a handful of almonds or other nuts in as a snack between meals, eating apple slices with peanut butter as opposed to eating just the apple, or adding a glass of 2% milk to your meals or just as a snack somewhere in between, which add healthier calories than if you just had some cookies or whatever to pack in the missing calories. Those are just a few examples.. I am far from an expert but (I believe) eating under 1200 calories (minimum) will cause your body to go into starvation mode and will retain fat, rather than burn it off. Hope this helps!

I would like to try this challange.
I am currently 187 lbs. When I decided to start eating healthier, I weighed 194 lbs.
My goal weight is 155 lbs for now.

Alex, when you normally eat really clean, four days in Paris, surviving off of baguettes and wine can definitely bring the scales up! Though I'm sure with the amount of walking I did I burned off most of it, but I find that any alcohol/white bread overload/pastries/heavy, salty meats will put a few pounds on the scale in water weight anyway. Plus, visiting someplace for four days is very different than living there for years; you want to enjoy all you can in the little time you have, and there's no place to cook for yourself! :-) But I enjoyed it!!
Hello Leanne and everyone, Just checking in
How are you all doing? I am doing better then I thought I would be still staying strong:) Nervous About this weekend (Memorial weekend) I wont be home doing my normal routine and eating normal foods. But I think I will be o.k. I'm looking forward to weigh in keeping fingers crossed. Well everyone stay positive and have a safe and fun holiday! Amy
Yes I started my weekend early and had 3 beers and 300 cals worth of peanut M&M's last night plus I had too much real mayo on my crab sandwich. The whole thing put me over my calories by about 900! I weighed in today and I'm up.
I intend on grilling and having a wonderfully light veggie filled weekend. If my TTOM would just end I know I'd feel better.
Amy You have a great attitude I'm sure you can do it!
It is a new day and my mini goal is to at least get back to 130 before weigh in on Monday. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. I'm going to play fish and drink a ton of water the next few days (weeks) and try to flush out the extra sodium and crap I know I'm retaining. Back on track! I really want to lose this weight!!!!
Have a wonderful Long weekend everyone! I'll be at work tomorrow but I'll be checking in!
Welcome to jsgarvin, jlendermo (Jessica) and san4sic! I hope I haven't missed anyone. As of right now we are at 21.
I'll make a master list after Monday depending on how many we still have with us. If we miss more then 2 weigh ins in a row then the names will drop from the list.

Thanks wildmustng! I think your suggestion is going to work well for me, because eating the extra calories all in one big chunk just doesn't sound fun now that I'm used to smaller portions. I tried having a handful of peanuts yesterday after lunch, and was much more satisfied at the end of the day, and closer to my calorie goal without stuffing myself.
I hope everyone's had a good week. I went running most days, but today I'm taking a break. My knees are getting a little sore and I suspect I need new running shoes. I'm going to try to keep the calories down over the holiday weekend and avoid the melted butter that goes with lobster...
Leanne- the splurge sounded totally worth it.. beer and a crab sandwich? Mmmm.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'll be back Tuesday to post my weigh in!
I'd love to join this - my name's CC and I'm currently attempting to lose for my wedding next May. I started at 196 and am currently 183.8 as of this morning. My goal weight is 135. -
welcome nuggetkong! It's great you have a year to reach your goal. I'm sure you'll hit it before that. It will give you time to adjust and maintain the new you.
I hope everyone is enjoying there weekend!
Quick question!! I assume you want us to edit our original posts each monday, rather than making a new one? Just making sure! :P
Not sure if I will have lost anything, it rained for 4 days straight here and then the last two days its been raining in the evening, so I haven't been able to go walking! but I have been doing my other exercises... we'll see! GL to everyone for the rest of the weekend :)
M day weekend! So much fun, but the calories added up. Today we went to the aquarium then walked through the market. We found some wonderful cheese and salami. My husband and I had a nice relaxing evening on the deck with a bottle of wine, and the great finds from the market. WOW those calories added up quick. 1300 over my limit for the day :( Will have to do better tomorrow.
1 good note for today the jeans I tried on last weekend did not zip up all the way but I tried them on today and was able to wear them :)
Katherineanne1 Now that sounds like a worth it day and then to be able to put on the jeans.....Woo Who!
I think we should edit copy and paste our original post. We have new people spreading out over all the pages so for me it will be easier to keep track of. I'll make a master copy for the first page then it will make it easier if you just want to add a new weight.YKWIM?

Welcome lozzle!
Great job tink and twilight! Twilight you did great this week! A 2 pound loss is a perfect target!
I have a baby shower to go to next weekend myself. I'm hoping that there will be some light foods there but we'll just have to wait and see. Life goes on around us and we just have to make the best choices we can and if we don't... We just start right back up where we left off.
I only lost a .6 of a pound but I'm very happy with that as all week I've been bloated and have been up to 132. I'm hoping for a larger loss this coming week. At this rate I'll not make my 10lbs but any pounds off are great.
